When it comes to business he seems pretty conservative, because (I assume) he makes a lot of his money from larger businesses hiring him. When it comes to social issues I get the feeling he's more liberal, but as you say he's smart enough not to state his own opinions and at least try to seem neutral. How right he'll turn out to be about anything... /shrug

  20. None. They physically do not have the capacity for what's technically called expeditionary operations (if I'm not mistaken). Basically their navy can't both get that far and fight. Sustaining operations far from bases is actually amazingly hard. As far as I know, only the USN and the JMSDF can still do it. The Royal Navy (UK) I'm not sure; they maintained that capability at least into the 1990s. But that's it, unless someone else has made major strides I haven't heard about.

  41. I don't think deglobalization will be a full systems collapse like the Bronze Age thing, at least not in all areas. Unless we get a few more hammer blows like major natural disasters or God knows what. The narrative around the Bronze Age Collapse that I've seen centers on the fact that it wasn't one or a handful of things that caused it, it was a sort of perfect storm of events that all compounded each other.
