@LeechofCrows , People certainly didn’t believe that Russia would lose a war with a country with no navy, barely a military, and 1/4th Russia’s population.
59
I don’t believe they can. Russia is not the Soviet Union.
14
@norbertlipusz3892 , All those countries that were once part of the Soviet Union know what it’s like, and they aren’t interested in being part of such a corrupt poverty stricken country again.
13
“And it will remain in effect as long as Ukraine threatens the security of the Russian Federation.” Ukraine has never been a threat to the Russian Federation though.
11
@LeechofCrows , Are 17 countries invading Russia right now?
11
@vulcan734 , The EU can suspend Hungary’s voting rights until Orban resolves the corruption issue in Hungary.
9
@LeechofCrows , With nearly 7 decades of Soviet manufactured weapons, Russia can’t even defeat Ukraine, a country 1/4 their population, no stockpiles, and a little bit of old outdated junk from the west. Imagine if Ukraine was receiving the new modern stuff. Do you know that the US war in Afghanistan lasted only 6 weeks? What happened when the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan? Didn’t they run away with their tail between their legs after experiencing massive losses?
9
@LeechofCrows , The Soviet Union and Germany started WW2 together, then the west bailed out the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was pathetic, and now Russia is pathetic.
8
@FEDEXLuchs , “NATO aircraft JUST showed up…” And only 6 of them, and old outdated ones too, not the new stuff. A pathetic number of old outdated equipment, but against Russia pathetic military, it’ll make a huge difference.
8
@mitchyoung93 , Ukraine’s demographics is irrelevant. Russia is losing. Russia is finished.
7
@LeechofCrows , Are you claiming that the Soviet Union and Germany didn’t invade Poland together in 1939?
6
@neikercontreras2008 , And today the former Soviet republics no longer want to be part of that union and Putin doesn’t like it.
6
@Red-Check-Mark , But Russia’s pathetic military can’t defeat Ukraine though, so Russia doesn’t really have a choice.
6
@neeneko , The west understands that Russia can not be allowed to win this war, and because the west is supplying Ukraine with weapons, Ukraine’s economy is irrelevant. Russia, on the other hand, either needs to make their own weapons, or buy them. Eventually, when all Russia’s oil and gas exports are shut down, Russia won’t be able to support a war with Ukraine while Ukraine is being supplied by the west.
6
They are winning.
6
@philibertyt2844 , Before WW2, the United States didn’t care much about national defense, so they didn’t invest much in military research. After WW2, this changed.
6
@JackFromWyoming , “easily defeated after a week of shifting troops” We’ll see.
5
@JackFromWyoming , Actually, the Soviet Union lost WW2. Despite starting WW2, the west had to bail them out. After the war was over, the west should have treated Russia the same as Germany and Japan. I suppose they believed that after bailing out the Soviet Union, Stalin would be grateful. They were obviously wrong.
5
@sinoroman , “Russia can fight on past 20 years.” ROTFLMAO!!! You’re a comedian??
5
@vadymvv , How many soldiers were in Ukraine’s military before Russia invaded in February 2022? How many were in Russia’s military?
4
@herptek , How much military equipment did Ukraine have before Russia invaded in February 2022, and how much did Russia have?
4
@herptek , It makes sense that the world believes that Russia had a mighty military and that Ukraine didn’t have a chance. Ukraine proved them all wrong.
4
@DOSFS , When did the US take over other territories as their new state since WW1?
4
@Tomatnaufmaugn , “while Russia has to rely on whatever they can pull out of storage and actually restore to operational.” Which will soon be nothing. Russia is already running low on ballbearings, and they can’t make computer chips.
4
Once depleted, Russia doesn’t have the capacity to rebuild the massive stockpiles of weapons, ammo, and military equipment that they inherited from the Soviet Union. Once gone, it’s gone forever. So far in less than 2 years, Ukraine has forced Russia to deplete over half of those stockpiles.
3
@norbertlipusz3892 , I agree with you 100%. This is exactly why Ukrainians are fighting against Russia. They also know what it’s like.
3
@sassenspeyghel4155 , How things are right now is called “air parity”. Both side have sufficient air defenses to deny the other side access to their airspace. In the end Ukraine will win.
3
@LeechofCrows , Everyone fell for it.
3
@LeechofCrows , Russian propaganda worked.
3
@LeechofCrows , Even Putin believed it.
3
@ojjoooooo , Is that what’s happening in Kursk right now? A Slavic civil war?
3
@herptek , Ukraine did have some old Soviet stockpiles as well. But not nearly as much as Russia. I have no clue which comma you’re referring to.
3
@JackFromWyoming , “Do you know Russia controls 80% if its stated goals?” Yeah? How many times did they change their “stated goals” before that became true? And at their current rate of advance, how many years and how many casualties will it take before Russia reaches 100%?
3
@LeechofCrows , You’re obviously confused.
3
@JackFromWyoming , “And the Russians have now learned how to eliminate 80% of the US arsenal.” ROTFLMAO!!!! You’re funny bro.
3
@LeechofCrows , Are you claiming that before February 2022 you knew that Russia would lose this war? That you knew that around 2 years later Ukraine would be invading Russia?
3
@LeechofCrows , What possible reaction could Putin have? Are you worried that he might invade Ukraine?
3
@LeechofCrows , Maybe he’ll try to target Ukraine’s power infrastructure?
3
@LeechofCrows , Kindergartens? Playgrounds? Churches? Shopping malls?
3
@LeechofCrows , He’s already been doing all these things, so there won’t be much of a change.
3
@Welsh_Veteran_420_Z , But the front lines in Donbas are not collapsing.
3
@matt-eu-poland , I agree that Russia should be split up. The funny thing is, nobody wanted to break up Russia before they invaded Ukraine. In fact, before the invasion, everyone believed that Russia was no longer a threat and NATO was on its way towards obsolescence. Putin’s invasion of Ukraine changed that.
3
@Sacrvm Imperivm Britannicvm, Why are you here spreading lies?
3
@Silver_Prussian , Really? Russia has hundreds of thousands of troops and they can’t defeat Ukraine? Isn’t Ukraine out of soldiers already? Are those hundreds of thousands of troops incompetent or something? Help me understand. Why weren’t they protecting Russia’s borders? I’m confused. Help me understand.
3
@Silver_Prussian , “Russia is currently in the process of doing just that.” Really? What’s taking them so long? The United states defeated the Taliban in Afghanistan in 6 weeks. The United States took 6 days to take Baghdad? What’s wrong with Russia’s military? Are they incompetent, or is their equipment inferior? Or is it both?
3
@qtamomusic7620 , I don’t believe anyone won WW2, but Germany and Japan surrendered.
3
@Dave102693 , You’re confused. Gaza launched a terrorist attack against Israel. Taiwan has not attacked China. If Taiwan did attack China, I would understand China responding to that attack the way Israel is responding to Gaza’s attack. You’re obviously not too bright and extremely confused.
2
No. They’ll step up their own weapons and ammo production, or they buy whatever they need from someone else.
2
@LeechofCrows , “Russia also hasn’t ‘lost’…” Yet. They are losing. They have been losing since Putin started this war.
2
@LeechofCrows , Who said that anyone believed that war was inconceivable ten years ago? It certainly wasn’t me. You appear to be easily confused.
