  2. It is a democracy. Ukraine is a democracy at war, under attack from a genocidal neighbour. It's ridiculous to expect them to behave exactly as if they were at peace. How about telling Putin and his supporters that they should cease hostilities right now and return all captives and occupied territories? That will stop the war pretty quickly. After that there will elections in Ukraine.

They know it, the whole world knows it, and you, like all those posting various shades of putin propaganda, know it too. There can only be peace for Ukraine and the world once russia has withdrawn from every square metre of Ukrainian territory, abandoned all hostilities, returned every single hostage and started paying reparations. And all the warmongers and their propagandists are on trial for war crimes.

  32.  @FunnyBunny-pd5xx  What rubbish. Those cars were not "confiscated" and Khan wasn't "forced" by the British government to donate them to Ukraine. Londoners upgrading to less polluting vehicles can claim back £1,000 (I think - I'm a Londoner but not a driver), when their old vehicle is scrapped. They were already at liberty to donate those cars to Ukraine instead of having them scrapped, but the legislation needed for people to still receive that money after donating their old vehicle to Ukraine was not in place. Obviously the Tories never miss an opportunity to try and make Khan look bad because they so desperately don't want him to win a historic third term as Mayor of London. Khan never had anything against sending those cars to Ukraine, and now that the legislation is finally in place, that's what's happening. End of. Stop trolling.

While it doesn't shock me that your kind exists (sadly I have several specimens in my social circle) I am always amazed at how you complain when you're called out. But since you seem to be expecting a serious answer to your contemptible question, here it is: they can't hold elections because they are currently at war. Zelensky - who won less than 4 years ago, I believe, with over 70% of the vote - is if anything more popular now than he was before the start of the full scale invasion. And some of the people who criticised him before 2022 did so because they thought he wasn't "russophobic enough". The majority of Ukrainians keep making it clear that they don't want to give up, because if they do, all the distruction and loss of life will have been for nothing, and a future under russia is more terrifying than what's going on at the moment. Do you really think they would vote to fall under the latest incarnation of the imperialist country that's been trying to annihilate them on and off for centuries? Please inform yourself before posting inane comments again. Deliberately not posting links because you need to research this for yourself - there are plenty of sources out there. Слава Україні 💙💛

Other times, I find that reading vile/clueless comments along with the articulate replies of sane people who take the time, helps me to navigate unpleasant conversations on the same topic irl. So when I feel clear-headed enough about something, and I have the energy, I try to put my thoughts into words for others to make up their mind.💙💛

Ukrainian women are being dehumanised twice over - not only as women, which happens to about half of the world's population and is bad enough - but also as Ukrainian women. And not just by the orcs! Some months ago for example, in the comment section of a video about a mutual support network formed by the wives and partners of dead Ukrainian soldiers, I came across a man unironically suggesting to another to "marry one of them" 🤬
