I won't reply directly to the comment below because bots get paid for engagement and @louisecorchevolle9241 is undoubtedly a kremlin bot account - so I'll just add that mafiosi need to be called by their proper name by anyone who talks about them, regardless of their position. If Western politicians had started referring to putin as the don of the biggest mafia cartel in the history of the world *years ago*, when it became obvious, they would not have empowered him to start this and other wars.

@Mopsisgone Thank you, yes I watched that and I am generally consuming my fair share of harrowing material... I'm reading Oleksander Mykhed "The Language of War" at the moment, and as painful as it is I highly recommend it. I meant no disrespect by adding smiles to my replies - I was just trying to show the look on my face when I saw your replies in my notifications this morning! We cannot overstress the importance of the ability to smile: I literally don't want my face muscles to forget how to do it, so whatever's going on I do my best to find reasons to smile every day.

@biljanacvjetinovic6204 Where's the evidence that Ukraine is losing? russian forces gaining a few square kilometres after losing masses of conquered territory before the start of the cold season, and hundreds of thousands of their men?
1
@СергейСуровикин-н9к Typically for the minion of a mafia boss, you seem to believe that wherever your mobster associates go they'll have the same power they have in their own backyard, and any other place they temporarily rule by violence. It must be unpleasant to realise that there are many places in the world where you don't have the power to "call for guards kick em off"

@TruthfullySpoken-mx5nf 🙄

@DavidGetling I don't think they "let" putin take Crimea... they literally had no choice. Their last president had - one can assume deliberately - degraded the army to a point that, in the turmoil following the Maidan protests, Ukrainians were literally not in a position to fight for Crimea. Thankfully for all of us, they were then able to stop the spread of russian proxy forces in the Donbas, until the army picked itself up to match the level of grassroots organising.

@josephking6515 It's pretty clear from Ukrainian sources (not just videos but also the comments on those videos) that most people are happy for the Dnipro flood plain to be restored to its natural state. The reservoir was apparently very unhealthy ecologically by the time the dam was blown up, I remember people talking about that last autumn, even. I doubt an unnatural reservoir could be better for the environment than a huge carbon sink helping to absorb some of the pollution caused by the war, while restoring the devastated ecology of the region.
1
@datathunderstorm That sounds like the sort of communal boiler we used to have in a block of flats where I lived years ago... those things are a nightmare, they break down all the time and then dozens or even hundreds of households have to make do without heating and hot water. But I live in London, and even with the worst landlord ever, it will get fixed eventually - or you can go to the press and shame your landlord / local authority, with no fear of falling out a window.
1
@vksasdgaming9472 You don't live in social housing in the UK, I presume
1
Didn't they bite off a chunk of Finnish territory, though...? Without looking it up (no time right now) I think it was Karelia - where that ex-wagnerite was found "sleeping with the fishes". How did they take territory without invading?
1
@mishabazenov7017 Ok thanks, so Ukraine is just moving the border away from Sumy, got it 🙂
1
@Bewt-pv5rj So you support the young people of your country getting killed in the war with the rf that would inevitably result from a Ukrainian defeat.
1
You could just move to russia - they would welcome you with open arms
1
@elbochie5046 That doesn't give you the right to deprive others of their basic human rights - and since that's something that the ruling classes of the russian federation are currently doing, it sounds like you might be happier there. Besides, if you hold those views, the country you "fought and bled for" would be a better place without you.
1
A post-war auction of the President's wartime T-shirts should raise enough money to rebuild a hospital, at least. Mind you, Ukrainians have a talent for making the best of their icons (that stamp, earlier this year...and debit cards already being issued with a pic of the burning bridge) so someone has probably thought of this already. 🇺🇦
1
@JJ03330 This war was started by putin, who wants to erase Ukraine and use its resources to start waging war on other neighbouring countries. All it would take to "sort it" is for the rf to cease all hostilities and return all occupied territories to 1991 borders - and all captives - to Ukraine immediately. To believe that the US and UK had any part in starting this war is just good old-fashioned Western narcissicism - we really don't want to believe we're not protagonists of this story.
1
@zsoltmolnar750 I don't know about the person who wrote the original comment, but I know quite a few Ukrainian people, including a relative. I haven't been there yet, simply because I've never had much money to travel, and whatever money I can spare at the moment is best spent on donating to a drone fund for the UAF.
1
@NightRider2023-f1j I don't know how you can say that so confidently, considering that the Ukrainian government is not releasing the number of military casualties. However, that's not denying that there have been many losses, military and civilians, and that Ukraine is having to come to terms with having a high number of disabled people for decades to come.
1
@dkrawk8309 Are you looking in the mirror...?
1
@cherylmarriott7109 Thanks for this pearl of wisdom

Thanks UATV, as always I really appreciate your work. Please ask the guy who reads the direct quotes to slow down a bit. I would happily provide some accent coaching, if you read this message and you think you'd have the time, just reply and I'll get in touch. Take care. You will win 💙💛
1
@AstroGremlinAmerican I agree, however slowing down is not about accent, and not speaking too fast is one of the basic rules of any kind of public speaking. I'm also aware that as someone who's already bilingual, works with languages and is now learning Ukrainian, I can't expect everyone to have the same tolerance for non-standard English that I have. And right or wrong, some people are less likely to watch a video till the end if they find the language hard to understand.
1
The funny thing is, that may well have taken place, but the russian federation has reached some depths of depravity, incompetence and chaos that they're making the West look good in comparison (I mean, North Korea will soon look good in comparison to the rf). I would have been so easy to gain and hold the moral high ground over the West - and the russian federation has completely, miserably failed on all fronts. And doing so, it has given our countries a chance to reform themselves. Thanks.

🤮

@scottowensbyable It's not 'throwing money', it's providing them with the resources they need to keep defending themselves from a genocidal aggression. Ukrainians are actually using everything they get very well, and if they'd had more, sooner, there would have been less death and destruction, less occupied territory to liberate and reintegrate, and a shorter war.
1
@dannythomson5239 Kremlin propagandists have made it abundantly clear that they have no intention of stopping at Ukraine. The same regime has already interfered in foreign elections and referendums, and has been sponsoring a terrorist militia responsible for countless human rights abuses in various regions of the world. Therefore, anything but the total, unspinnable and irreversible defeat of the Kremlin will lead to further destabilisation all over the globe (not least in russia itself). And that means that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are protecting us all.
1
@dannythomson5239 So what? muskovy 'should' be left alone to obliterate a whole nation (and then keep going, as is obvious to anyone not in deep denial) just because the US and UK have pursued an aggressive foreign policy for hundreds of years? All imperialist nations matter? Imperialism has to end. And it ends right here. Слава Україні, смерть ворогам💙💛
1
Aaaaand... it's not going to happen. But if you get excited about new maps, the rf is about to implode and fragment, so that will be interesting for you
1
Go tell putin to "beg for peace", he's the one who started the war and could end it in one day by ceasing hostilities and withdrawing his troops from all occupied Ukrainian territories. If Ukraine surrenders or settles for anything other than full deoccupation, it will be finished as a country, and both the rf and other totalitarian powers will just start more wars.
1
@deloughi1887 I do the same sometimes. When I can I'll reply to someone who replied to a troll, rather than directly to the troll, which always feels a bit unsanitary
1
@deloughi1887 I'll reply to the comment I feel like replying to tbh. Thanks for the tip.
1
@deloughi1887 Karen? Suzi? Am I being baptized? 🤣 Typical Adam, thinking it's your right to name everything and everyone (and, as you admit, "tell me what to do"). Thanks for revealing yourself, I did have a hunch about you from your previous comment.
1
@Booz2020 Frankly, I doubt it - because it's coming from someone who most definitely posted a weird, almost nonsensical comment seemingly unrelated to this thread and video, to mask some pro-russian comment. And that's what kremlin trolls do.
1
@breakfast00club..11 Oh yes, nazi genocidal lawless mercenaries will make all your problems go away 🤣
1
If our countries had kept their promises made in the 90s and given Ukrainians what they were asking for two years ago, this war would be over by now.
1
As far as I understand, they're a lot stricter on enforcing their state language than Ukraine was before the start of the full-scale invasion... watch Sternenko's Kazakhstan videos on YouTube, he describes the situation well (in Ukrainian - decent subtitles)
1
@bloggalot4718 But how...?? 🥺 I literally can't picture this being done. If you can, help me out
1
@StarskyUA I'm grateful for this thread because I'm in the same quandary: I don't think I have any skills that would be useful in Ukraine at the moment (I can't even drive!), and as much as I want to visit, I wouldn't want to potentially be a burden if I do get caught up in an emergency. Ukrainian first responders risk a double tap every time they go out after a rocket attack, I don't want anyone to risk their lives to pull me out of the rubble! I honestly feel that Ukrainians are already risking - some of them, giving - their lives so that war doesn't reach me and my loved ones in western Europe. On the other hand, friends have invited me to join them next time they go home, and I do know that many Ukrainians really appreciate foreign visitors to their country at this time. I'm still weighing all this up.
1
@genghissu1185 Am I a fake account? What, because I don't post a bunch of videos on my page, or because you don't agree with what I'm saying? 🤣
1
one of the most predictable, least coherent trolls in these comment sections...you'll need another job soon, and who will have you? You're so boring
1
@JK-br1mu I agree but hopefully attacks on non-NATO countries will also be off the table! A country can't be seen as fair game by anyone just because they're not in with the big boys, we really need to evolve from this. 💙💛
1
Did he say anything about the election of committed criminals who are openly friendly with the country's biggest enemies...?
1
It is widely known that Zelensky has even more support in Ukraine now than he did before the start of the full-scale invasion... I have personally heard Ukrainians who used to be openly critical of him expressing genuine respect and support for their President. The 'various alternative platforms' you mention are in all probability russian-sponsored misinformation stations. Which you, being one of putin's trolls, would know a lot about. Слава Україні💙💛

Troll
1
He has not experienced direct contact because he's never been in the military and has never pretended to be. He was voted into power by a huge majority in free and fair elections and is now doing his job. Some of the politicians he's having to deal with in order to protect his country from genocide are indeed evil - it should have been so easy for putin & co. to gain the moral high ground on them, but they have failed and continue to fail on all counts. Слава Україні 💙💛
1
I still can't believe I heard one of our politicians speak in public without rage or shame
1
@merjakotisaari9046 I understand it would be a headache in many ways, but does it not have resources to make up for the investment in the long run?
1
@AstroGremlinAmerican Didn't he propose a comprehensive border package a few months ago, so that republicans would finally unblock military aid to Ukraine, only for republicans to vote it down? MAGA want the southern border to remain a problem, so trump can use it to bamboozle enough people to vote for him.
1
I've already told you once: stop both-siding this war. Russia invaded Ukraine, Ukrainians are defending themselves. Self-defence is not egoism. It has taken all my self control to not end this with an insult.
1
You don't deal well with facts, do you?
