I am also absolutely terrified that the orcs are withdrawing because they have already decided on the most destructive course of action imaginable, i.e. blowing the Zaporizhzh power plant and/or the chemical plant on the Kherson-Crimean border. They must know by now that their plans for Ukraine have been scuppered - it's obvious that they will never, ever control this country and its people. Sorry to put a downer on things, this was such a positive comments section... I have personal rules against scaremongering but a lot of my personal rules have been going out the window recently! I ardently hope that there are Ukrainian agents among the forces holding these facilities hostage, and that they are ready to move when the time is right. Слава героям України... Україна назавжди! 🔱

But the UAF are definitely not using their soldiers for russian-style "meatwaves", and it's not only about their regard for the lives of Ukrainians: they simply can't afford to do that. The stop-and-start military aid from their allies is forcing them to rely on their infantry more than they'd like to - and it's exceptionally cruel to force a nation to fight off genocide with the avoidably sacrifice of many of its young people - but this is the main reason the Ukrainian counteroffensive more or less ground to a halt earlier this year. Because they're not using their infantry the way russia does. The last sentence of your comment gives me the strong impression that you read that New York Times article about the Dnipro offensive a couple of weeks ago, and took it as gospel. Assuming you're not a troll (also a possibility), listen to what this Ukrainian serviceman had to say about that article, and reset your brain: The New York Times, не перспективно так робити. It's also worth remembering that the US is investing a very tiny percentage of its GDP into aid to Ukraine, a fraction of what was spent on the Afghanistan war in an average year. I don't have the figures to hand but anyone can look them up

  30. A minuscule percentage of the US's huge defence budget has gone to Ukraine so far - your taxes would be going into dismantling the weapons that your country - if indeed you are American, which I doubt - is sending to Ukraine

As horrified as I am by what's happening in Palestine and Israel at the moment, it is the culmination of decades of inhuman treatment of Palestinians at the hands of the Israeli state in plain sight of the rest of the world, and that is something that we must never allow ourselves to forget. Also, parallels between putin's regime and Hamas aren't going to get far, considering that the former is an imperialist organisation controlling a huge territory, and the latter the militarised government of a tiny territory that a substantial number of people have been squeezed into with no regards for their human rights.

  34. No Ukrainian is fighting for Zelensky, they are fighting against the genocidal russian horde that's been ordered to wipe their nation off the face of the earth. Anyone in this thread expressing outrage on behalf of the Ukrainian men and women risking and losing their lives at the front or being conscripted into the army: take it up with the kremlin. That's who started this war, and they could end it in an instant, by withdrawing from Ukrainian territory to 1991 borders, ceasing all hostilities and returning all captives. Martial law was only declared by Ukraine at the start of the full-scale invasion.

Ukraine is defending itself and rightly getting help from its allies. If you so love peace, start trolling the comment sections of prorussian channels, or better still, start asking putin to cease all hostilities, withdraw all his troops back to 1991 borders, and return all captives: the war will be over very quickly after that.
