Chinese still not aware that there's this thing called Law of Supply and Demand? Welcome to reality, folks.
31
With the rampant selling/consumption of fake/adulterated/toxic food among ordinary citizens, weakened immunity is the result. I feel sorry for them especially the children. They have not much of a choice in a dysfunctional system.
27
That 10 trillion yuan will end up subsidizing bankrupt state-owned enterprises and inside the pockets of corrupt party officials. With many businesses shutting down, how would the government cover the shortage of revenue to pay civil servants?
17
That fake tofu looks stronger than the concrete they use for their buildings.
12
Ghost cities are for the ghosts, not for the living.😅😅
10
Chinese people prefer buying imported fruits than the locally-produced ones because they know the real score as far as food safety standards in China. Even the farmers themselves will never eat their own produce and would rather discard them at a huge loss. Rampant and excessive use of pesticides, hormones, formaldehyde and other toxic chemicals have come back to haunt them.

That sidewalk guy had been dead for several hours already. You could see the stool that flowed out from his rectum. I read that the first thing corpses lose within an hour after death is the bowels since there is no longer any muscle control. Tragic to die in such an undignified circumstance.

Unable to get a job in the urban areas, unable to sell their produce in rural areas. Drought in the north, devastating floods in the south. Ordinary Chinese people really being squeezed in all directions. And that's not counting being forced to pay alleged tax arrears for the last 30 years. Things are bound to snap soon.
9
Poultry and meat products from China are a hard-sell in the international market due to dodgy practices by unscrupulous farmers. Instead of exporting, they can keep the meat for their own consumption. At least, they won't go hungry.
9
Foolish call to buy a car you can't really afford only to use it sparingly because you can't afford fuel. Poor decision-making had made many Chinese bankrupt and in debt, to be honest.
6
There goes the yuan as BRICS' currency. Who would want to use the currency of a failing economy?
5
And to think that China's bureaucracy is, like most socialist/communist states, chronically bloated with many civil servants doing redundant functions that can be done away with. Imagine the budget spent for these unnecessary staff who got their positions due to family connections.
5
They need hard cash to pay off loans and debts. Farmers are already in heavy debt so a poor harvest or poor returns will push them deeper.
5
@jojox5136 they can only make those into tomato catsup/paste since tomatoes are a highly-perishable item. You can only eat so much tomatoes for days. Now i understand why they spray those with formaldehyde to keep them look fresh.
5
Thanks to Israel for triggering Chinese paranoia about using iPhones😂
4
@anneshirleyduncan The whole world knows. Rich Chinese or those with connections just pay their way through colleges, even abroad.
4
Communists and tyrants don't care. Ordinary people and peasants are just statistics and means for personal gain.
4
Guy probably died due to combination of factors like dehydration, starvation, sickness and exposure. Probably thought he was just too tired or sleepy and sat down to rest never realizing that he was actually dying.
3
So that's why schools are shutting down due to lack of enrollees. Children are dying and the government wants them to breed fast.
3
These livestreamers are either desperate or naive, or maybe both, to think that their "profession" is as easy as singing and acting in front of a camera phone to make it their main source of income. They should just go back to their hometown and farm for their three square meals a day.
3
Austerity is the best option when money is tight. Live within your means. It's tough, but doable. If you're a spendthrift beyond your means, you deserve to be mired in debt all your life.
3
Can't say I pity the hospital staff. The fact that they have not been paid since the start of the year should have told them of the state of government's finances and acted accordingly. Now they've been fired with no assurance of getting their arrears. No worries, though: Xi Jinping will just send more aid to Africa.
3
Divert the people's attention from their crisis.
3
It's called online begging or e-begging. You gotta do what you do to survive. Too many unemployed out there.
3
Currently? Bitterness. Xi's advice.
2
Buy one, take four. That's a good deal!
2
They don't have to let their citizens travel abroad. Why do you think they allowed visa-free entry to foreigners? Let the transmission agents come into them.
2
CCP should just drop all pretense and hire all working-age citizens for the civil service so it's a 100-percent employment. Get the money printer going 24/7 and give every civil employee a guaranteed minimum salary of 5k a month and cancel all personal debts and mortgages so people can restart fresh.
2
Their coffers have been emptied by local governments after some 'persuasion'. Not a chance in hell they will be repaid.
2
Bribing the coach to insert you into the game😂yup, that's China.
2
Falling birth rates, falling number of marriages, a growing elderly population, and now this. China would go near-extinct before the century ends.
2
Tourist : "Excuse me, mr. Guard. Can you please where I could... " Security guard : "How dare you! You should address me as 'Dr. Guard'. I have a doctorate from UK!"
2
That's an embarassment to the CCP as that would be admitting there's still poverty in China. The Pooh have already declared that the war on poverty had been won, remember?
1
Only the funeral and crematorium business seem to be the only ones thriving in China today.
1
In China, inspectors are there to take bribes to look the other way.
1
I can't imagine going out of my unit at night and walking along the dark corridor like a psycho or a ghost is out to jump at you.
1
It's China. Even the 'branded' goods or products sold at king's ransom may probably be fake.
1
I bet that ghost town is creepy as hell at night they should just promote it as a ghost-hunting site for paranormal enthusiasts.
1
But, but, but the CCP said there's no poverty nor homelessness in China! Surely the US and the West have shot this footages outside of China with paid actors.
1
But, but, but they look good in togas😅🤣
1
"Auntie, that's my water bottle. You can't take that."😂Even monkeys behave better than these locusts.
1
Corruption and cheating has become synonymous with China. Everybody will scam anybody when given the opportunity.
1
Of course if it's cheap, it's a product of some food black magic. You get what you pay for. Can't be picky when you are broke now, can you?
1
The world knows of China's questionable food quality standard. Using hormones, excessive pesticides, toxic food, unethical treatment of animals, etc. Even Chinese farmers themselves don't consume their own produce because they know how it was grown.
1
It's not free if the recipient will shoulder the burden of payment. It's just a transfer of financial obligation from one party to another.
1
Either that dashboard radar is really high-tech or it was just acting like any made in China junk does.
1
You mean 1.90 USD per hour.
1
Asking employees to return alleged excess salaries received years ago is just dumb. That's practically extortion. If they can't return it, are they going to be in debt to their employers? It's as if the CCP wants their citizens to drown in debt as they are already.
1
With a rapidly-shrinking pie to go around, expect more cut-throat competition, more cutting corners, and more scams in China.
1
The CCP must be encouraging those golf courses and gambling joints to distract people from their misery.
