Well, because you don't have a choice. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. If your leader fails, you are all screwed.

As if "load-shedding" is not yet enough, SA now has "water-shedding". Getting better as they come.

if the cases keep rising, they may find themselves sharing the bed with a third guy in the middle.

Their building of man-made islands/fortress telegraph their intent to close SCS to international traffic in the near future. That act alone will invite consequences as it will be tantamount to a blockade, an act of war under international law. No country will allow a bully to take defacto possesion of such a vital waterway like it was its own backyard.
1
Wow! That haze was so dense. I'm appalled that people just casually walks through it like it was nothing. It's like passing through a gas chamber.
1
"Democratic dictatorship" is the most oxymoron word I have ever heard of.😁🤣

Why need visa when you could just apply for asylum in the US?
1
I wonder if those murdered politicians were in the pockets of a cartel group, and were done in by rival cartels to make way for their own candidates?

Rain will just mix with the sulfur in the polluted air and will come down as acid rain.

If it's your time to go, no precaution will save you.
1
The international community will have to find a compelling reason to help Argentina like how they avoid Lebanon. Both economic abyss.
1
What's ironic is that Argentina has been using dollars to halt their skidding economy. Had they not been using the greenbuck, their inflation may surpass that of Venezuela.
1
Just being made to read "Xi Jinping's Thoughts" is already unappealing enough.

@joyfulserendipity4650 vietnam is using the US as a counterbalance to china.

I would think that those 42 people paid ransom so they managed to "escape". Syndicates like these will not waste their time forcing their victims to work for them if they can buy their freedom. After all, suckers are born every minute.

Zimbabwe : Ahem!

Or rather, close the government if it won't fix the problem. That should kick the politicians' **s! 👍😁
1
Corrupt bureaucrats, as usual. What's worse was that they have been victimized to do illegal activities.
1
Resorting to violence has been proven as counter-productive. Like shooting yourself on the foot. Besides, elections are held regularly, so bad leaders are replaced through the people's mandate. That's a thousand times better than insurrection.
1
Just don't fly planes altogether.
1
If it was not being enforced, why should the water thieves care? Is there a law in the first place?

Those people are probably jobless, queueing to apply for jobs in Starbucks.

Now you're going into semantics, bringing the "if-this-is-true, then this-is-also-true with" argument to deflect and muddle the issue. The Philippines never claim sovereignty over Scarborough but "sovereign rights". You're the one who is confused. Philippine government recognizes that area as common fishing ground for countries in that region. It was China's illegal act of restricting others into exercising their rights that triggered this issue. That area was peaceful until China began bullying everybody. And please don't inject outside issues. The issue here is China's greed and arrogance. If you want to talk about the Malvinas or others, make a memo and submit your case to the UN. Even if Malvinas belongs to Argentina, it still did not make your argument about Scarborough any more right.
1
You can not remain neutral if your freedom to decide your future is being threatened by a bully.
1
that's "weaponizing energy" lol

Before lending you any money, a bank will conduct a due diligence as to your credit-worthiness. If it decides that you have the capacity to pay, then you will be given a loan, the terms and conditions of which will be spelled out in the fine print. As long as you are paying your due diligently, the bank will not care if you're a gambler or a spendthrift. But if you are, the bank will just impose more stringent conditions because the bottomline for them is to be paid back.
