Look at Venezuela, the only people that were allowed guns there were people that vowed allegiance to the president. And now it’s a complete dictatorship with a growing poverty level, and corruption. Were guns banned because the government wanted to take over? It doesn’t matter, because banning the guns lead to the result we have today. People in the US have every right to be fearful of a government overusing it’s power.

  8. iamkulit1 CS no military would use civilian weapons. The weapons civilians are allowed to use are semi-automatic and have strict restrictions on the attachments.

  17. Greg marshall do you need accuracy if your plan is to mow down a large crowd close around you? If guns are to truely be used in defence, why allow such a attachment in the first place? As you said it’s inaccurate - so how is it to be used in hunting or defence? I see the fun, I might try it one day, but I just don’t like the downsides.

  35. In 2016 71 people died to mass shootings (that includes everything, not just schools) You have more chance of drowning, or catching cancer, or getting a cardiovascular disease, but none of those can help defend yourself. Guns do.

  39.  @juliahartshorn2473  personally I like the electoral college, the founding fathers feared a mob rule, and wanted to satisfy small states so that they do t feel left out by a popular voting system. Those 2 values still hold today, and with the urbanisation of much of the population- even more so. I believe in a smaller federal government. It’s shown tune and again that it doesn’t truely represent enough of the country, most elections have around half of the population against the winner. States don’t have that divide, they are more personal - that’s why the states should be more powerful.

  43. Wallace Bell being bien into poverty isn’t the problem, it’s your attitude and work ethic. In the us, you get free k-12 education. If you work hard, and get into a good university you can go far. Heck, even if your not intelligent you can get a trade, or start your own business.

  44. l h you mean student loan prices are extraordinarily expensive? I agree, and much of the problem is the government. They give out loans left right and center, and universities take advantage of this to bump up their prices. Correcting for inflation, 4-year private university prices have tripled since 1960 (the enactment of the federal student aid). Where you once were able to pay off your university education with a side job, you now have to cut into years of your income down the line. How to fix it? Cut off federal aid, leave it to the private sector... or the universities themselves!

  48. Buybacks are a normal part of our economy. Companies will dilute and buy back stocks as they see fit, depending on if they are in need of money or are have a great financial year. Some companies will buy back stocks as an alternative to paying dividends. It essentially wires the same way.
