Read about cases like this, and you'll see some of the reasons why few women avail themselves of what you see as the logical course of action.

  25. What about them? This is not either/or. A great many homeless people (NYC's homeless situation is not too bad at the moment) won't go into shelters anyway, and that's understandable. The places are dangerous, and their curfews make it difficult to find/keep a job.

  27. PP's patients, mostly low-income, are able to access its services (contraception, and various other healthcare) thanks to Medicaid. That saves us all a lot of money! Do I have to explain how? Due to the Hyde Amendment, no tax dollars can fund abortion, unfortunately. These places shouldn't receive any funding, indeed they shouldn't exist, as their staff lie, shame, and delay (running out the clock).
