@bjulalula9537 Thanks. I am funny. People tell me that all the time. I like making People laugh and feel good.
However, we don't have to agree on anything, but your comments Show that you have a near complete lack of understanding of economics, investing, and Money and also that you have an unhealthy relationship with Money. The majority of People are this way and that's why they're poor or struggling. But, instead of learning, they choose be angry, envious and comfortable in the victim role. You actually just said, " It does not mean they deserve it." Who are you to determine who deserves what? Their Clubs, fans and franchises have determined that they deserve it and they get. Professional Sports are still going on during this pandemic and People are rushing back into Stadiums when they are able, so it appears that Sports Entertainment is highly important for a lot of People. I've worked throughout the pandemic (HealthCare) and I earn a lot, the ladies in the bakery where I buy my lunch, most likely not as much because we have a different skill set. They don't seem to be unhappy, though. We were all happy to be able to work normally every day and not be locked up somewhere unemployed.
I don't know anything About Portland and "Fighting between November and January", but if you are so good at predicting the future, Maybe you should buy a Lotto ticket or make your way to Las Vegas or Macau.
There's no Transaction tax on trades in Germany, but does there really Need to be? The taxes on capital gains are already high in Germany (Kapitalertragssteuer 25%). That's why I don't invest in Germany, (aside from the rental Apartments that I have there). It's not worth it.

I lived in Germany for years and what I noticed is that they truly believe that they are rich and much better educated than the average American, but none of that is true. For example, a majority of Americans own a single family home, while the majority of Germans live in small (by American standards) rented apartments. Or, a typical American family will have multiple nice cars, to include things like a full-size SUV or pickup, Germans will have one tiny cheap car, if any(usually due to the high costs of owning a car starting with Mwst,Kfz Steuer, fuel, parking, insurance). Even as a "regular" American growing up in a rural area, we got cars at age 16 when we got our driver's license so that we could drive ourselves to school and other activities.
Lastly, significantly more Americans have college degrees as compared to Germans and do earn far more money. Plus, taxes are much lower in the US than in Germany. In the US, you will have more Netto from Brutto.

@fRiiEdA97 I define net worth by subtracting liabilities from assets and most Germans have a low net worth and will also receive a very low Rente. I used to see the old people desperately collecting Pfanflaschen in Frankfurt and lining up at the Tafel in Penzberg...
As for cars, it was definitely needed when I lived on Oberbayern. As a matter of fact, it was indispensable. Same as when I lived in Rheinland Pfalz. Getting along without a car in Frankfurt may have been possible, but very difficult because my son's school was quite a distance from my home and workplace.
I actually owned two properties in Germany until recently, and how many Germans own even one?
As for me, my undergraduate education including room and board was free because I had an academic scholarship. For medical school, I had a combination of grants and loans, which I had no issues paying back
Regarding healthcare, my premiums in both the USA and Switzerland were/are significantly less than in Germany. In Germany, I was subsidizing probably 3 families so that they could have "affordable" healthcare.
Germany is a disaster and that's why I left. At the end of the day, people there will end up desperate for food and heating after working for 45 years. No thanks.

@iluvzurara2 Well, let me explain it to you this way: If I don't even start to think that I can be the best at something, then I will never achieve that Status. I wouln't look for ways of improvement. Words are powerful and thoughts precede words. Repeating certain words will shape your mind to more productive thought processes and ideas. How can you say that you want better but only Focus on what is wrong or undesirable? Why should People focus on income or Wealth inequality (however that's defined), write articles About it, march About it or make Videos About it when instead they could be using their time to gain new Knowledge About how to become wealthy? Things like taking classes in certain Topics, getting certified in some new Technology, learning a new language, and taking care of their mental and spiritual needs.
People who say that their life Situation is great truly do mean it, so who are you to tell them that it is not? If a Person wants to Display arrogance or they have a sense of superiority, that's their Business. It doesn't Change how I feel About myself. If you know who you are, where you come from and what your Purpose is, other people's attitudes wouldn't bother you so much. Most People would do good to have some more Feelings of superiority instead of inferiority. Just be Aware that the Producers of TV shows pick People to go on those Shows who will bring them the highest Ratings. They don't want any quiet mouse. I've been on a couple of Shows before (Who Wants to be a Millionaire and The Weakest Link) and it was clear during the autiditons who would be picked to go on the Shows: the smart, confident, talkative People with a competitive and Winning attitude.

@nadine3419 Exactly. Unless an American is planning a trip to Switzerland or planning to move here, they never, ever give it a second thought and they don't need to either.
Let me give you an example of the differences in expectations regarding standard of living in Germany (where I lived for a long time) vs. the USA. When I first moved to Germany, it was because I was in the military and one of the things that I found fascinating is that many locals in the vicinity of the military bases have properties that they want to rent to Americans, but are unsuccessful because the apartments and houses are "too small". Obviously a 3 or 4 room apartment of 100 qm or a duplex of 140 qm is a dream for a German but no American would entertain the thought to cram themselves in such a place. As a result, there are people who build houses of 200 qm or more precisely for the American Military rental market. These rental properties are positively out of reach for the typical German but easily affordable on military housing allowance. For example, my housing allowance around was about 1500 euros/month and I could rent a 208 qm 4-bedroom duplex with a yard and carport...Unheard of for a typical German worker. Along those lines, there are auto dealers (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc.) who have dealerships exclusively for Americans and we could afford those big luxury car because they were Tax-free,(no VAT/Mwst) in US dollars prices and were could pay US prices for fuel all over Germany with our ration cards and we weren't subject to the ridiculously high yearly kfz-steuer. When I got out and started working "on the economy" as they say, I was shocked to receive a tax bill of over 500 Euro for my mercedes (c-class) and over 400 Euro from my BMW X1 and then I was paying german prices for diesel and petrol and it was at least triple or quadruple the price. I was like, no wonder everybody's driving those teeny-tiny crappy economy cars or don't have a car at all - They can't afford it with the wage stagnation and high taxes.

@juliab8992 I never said that the USA is the best simply because lots of people from different countries want to visit, work, study or live there. The USA is great because of many different factors, however it may not be pleasing to everyone, and that's their good right to not want to live there or think it is "the best". People are free to choose and many choose the USA, so there must be some compelling reasons. I also find it weird that so many American people are offended when other Americans think that the USA is great. I mean, I would be upset if a Japanese person or an Australian said "Japan is the best" or "Australia is the best". Why should that bother anyone?
Anyway, it sounds like you're getting in your own way. I took an Alaska cruise when I was a 1st year medical student with no income, credit card debt and student loan debt. It was great. A very memorable trip. I paid off the debt, funded retirement accounts and bought all kinds of insurance later. Try it instead of getting all resentful. It's ok to have some fun NOW.
Anyway, you won't be getting away from Government in Europe. They are deeply steeped in what we would call "big Government" and it will permeate every single aspect of your life, except maybe in Switzerland. But, in Switzerland, everyone is required to pay thousands per person each year for insurance, and no "family plans" either.
