  32. Students, especially from the USA, need to remember that Unis expect you to organise yourself like the adults that you are. Your Prof will not guide you through your studies the way a Prof will in the US. You have to be selbständig on a level uncommon for people entering college/Uni in the USA.

  33.  @IanBenecken  Colleges make money through forcing you to spend at least a semester (sometimes more) in dorms and quite often funding for your studies is tied to paying for food in the food halls. So the 'full-ride' you get from the college might cost you so much in housing and food (and yes, they do check if your swiped your card in the food hall) that it cancels out the money you were so 'generously' given. The US is so so strange. Oh, and sharing a bedroom as an adult because your school makes you? Not okay. Hoffe Du hattest Spaß und es hat Dich akademisch weitergebracht!

  41. Not quite true. Germany is quite flexible when it comes getting access to a University or FH. So much has changed during the last years. Just look at the duale Studium or access for people who have a Meistertitel or a Ausbildung. Stuzubi has Information on their site.
