There was something seriously wrong with the plane. A crop-duster shouldn't shed a wing like this. They're built like tractors.

I don't see a problem. The Milky Way is a galaxy and our planet is part of it. The company is not called Virgin Intergalactic. The mesosphere is 'near space', so SpaceShipTwo is appropriate, too.
19
@briancarno8837 Ukraine has launched three successful counter-offensives and is currently holding its own, no matter what the Russians are throwing against them. I should think Western aid has found its way into the right hands, or none of that would be possible.
18
...to those who earned their bribes.
16
@Omni_Shambles Which war was that? Don't tell me that Ruscist historical revisionism is extending now into the future as well.
7
Gerasimov certainly soiled his underpants. Initially, he didn't dare tell Putin of the incursion. I'd hate to be in his shoes.
6
@@user-jt4pk8ii4z The loss of the Il-22M has been compared to Russia losing 150 main battle tanks. Not that Russia can replace its MBTs, but this one will prove irreplaceable for the duration of this war, if not longer.
6
Not Western supplied ones, and occupied Crimea and Donbas count as Ukrainian territory.
6
@AkenValle There's no evidence of an Ukrainian rout, but the defending Russians have definitely been routed. Try to keep up with the news.
5
They could also start advertising royal toilet paper on HSN. Dignity be damned.
5
I see very few Ukrainian men around these here parts. Russian men of fighting age, however, are plentiful. Some have taken to wearing both Russian and Ukrainian flags on their sleeves, to make it clear where their sympathies do not lie.
5
No, Russia just wanted to admire Kyiv's suburbs from up close, after suffering disproportionate losses to get there.
5
Pakistan loves Bollywood.
5
I don't know about the hilarity. My late Finnish granddad was clearly disturbed by the carnage he caused as a machine gunner in the Winter War. Rumour had it their adversaries had enjoyed a generous serving of vodka before launching their human wave attacks.
5
It's a pity Macron, a true leader, has to take time out to entertain a mere figurehead.
5
@yo2trader539 "Most Russians" have no business letting or not letting Ukraine join alliances of its own choosing. Putin can form whatever spheres of influence in his head, but real life is another matter altogether. Russia needs to know its place once and for all.
5
Russia is spelled R-U-S-S-I-A, not A-M-E-R-I-C-A.
4
@varionbranzuela6894 Ukraine can attain peace the moment Russia decides to comply with UN resolutions and withdraws from Ukraine.
4
Not just maybe.
4
Baldrick: "I have a very cunning plan. Let's sacrifice seven military aircraft and their crews -- including an irreplaceable airborne command centre -- so that we can redeploy Wagner to Belarus, from where they'll reopen a front against Ukraine and bring sweet victory to Russia."
4
France is the world's top tourist destination. So, no wonder foreign pickpockets make a beeline for Paris.
4
@rickschroth9869 Be that as it may about Brits all(?) driving German cars, but in this day and age, Germany is deemed the more democratic of the two. Sadly, the US has fallen behind both. Lend-Lease was a success, I guess. Germany and Britain ought to give some back, so that the US can catch up.
4
These crop-dusters should be able to hang off their propeller. It's not like it was carrying a heavy load either.
4
India's space agency should outfit subsequent landers with a 4G smartphone, so they can stream better video back to Earth. I'm waiting for your (hopefully educated) response with bated breath.
3
@azmagaref Russia's casualty figures dwarf those of Ukraine. Cope, bot, cope.
3
@michaelmontagu3979 I misread yours as Mightily Butthurt.
3
@Robsheph Never been to war? In Holland, the Canadians are rightfully honoured for liberating the country in WW2. They rolled up the German defences very efficiently, despite the Germans doing their utmost to stop them. Canada hasn't received enough credit for that feat.
3
Yeah, the stuffing may come out. The teddy bear has seen better days.
3
Industrial target, bud.
3
Krembots ought to love your idea. It would totally wrongfoot "warmongering" NATO.
3
Western MBTs are more survivable. Cope.
3
Lukashenko may be disappointed to learn that Wagner's tactics amount to sending out the convicts first. When the enemy has run out of ammo, they send in the regulars. I wonder if Belarus has enough convicted criminals to implement such tactics. Political prisoners, plentiful and brave as they may be, make poor cannon fodder.
3
Prepare yourself for a long wait.
3
@nkydn In the civilised world, we call your 'celebration money' a bribe, too.
3
@dancahill9585 Brexit?
3
@barryc733 We're dealing with a commando raid here (you'd better look up "raid"). Commando raids used to drive one Herr Gitler up the wall, so much so that he ordered all captured commandos to be executed in contravention of the Geneva Conventions. Expect the same behaviour from Gospodin Putler.
3
Or maybe prisons? Wait...
3
@srijanme Interesting statement. Your Arjun tank is heavily influenced by the Challenger series, up to the rifled gun and obsolescent HESH ammo, which the Brits are now wisely replacing on the Challenger 3. Glass houses and stones...
3
@orest7026 A war of attrition is above all a war between economies. Isolated Russia is not winning that one. In the past two years, Russia has seen half of its sovereign wealth fund go up in smoke -- literally -- in Ukraine. In another two years, it's off the cliff for Pootie & the Boys.
3
It's not such a big deal. The aircraft just needs to tell the missile "GO!" and it takes it from there. The Storm Shadow is pre-programmed on the ground.
3
@abrahamdozer6273 In the Winter War, the Red Army pushed barely trained conscripts across snow-covered fields, without skies or snowsuits. In granddad's words, the charging troops made no effort to take cover and barely fired their rifles. It was, as he described it, tantamount to mass murder. Fresh troops, perhaps, but professional, my foot.
3
@christinamoxon Thanks for confirming my point. Charles is no political leader. He's a figurehead.
3
@abuseofmainstreammediacanh5713 Russia is threatening with nuclear winter, not NATO.
3
@StevenSmith-mk5fg Apart from that, I've never understood why the silly Putin trolls go on and on about the Tsar Bomba. The sole remaining example was dismantled decades ago.
2
Don't flatter yourself. This is pure NATO, but in a different sense: No Action, Talk Only.
2
@chrisrobert5252 We've had Finnish instructors training Ukrainians in the UK for some months now. It's somewhat challenging to teach proper winter warfare in the UK, however. There's more to it than camouflage.
2
@Rohan123-b9t The old "in Soviet Russia" reversal jokes were funny, but your adaption is just meh.
2
"Antagonizing a war"... come again? Google Translate made a boo-boo there.
2
World leaders will mock Trump again when he makes president, but with more finesse.
2
Arrou, Meuse, Pagny-sur-Moselle, Croisilles and anything in between. Information is literally at your fingertips, sport.
