Members of the Intellectual Dark Web are mulling the idea of creating their OWN such service. I don't think there should be any laws against most of the bullshit from Google. We just need an alternate business model that doesn't involve data mining. I'll be devoting some of this winter to finding alternatives. I'm about creeped-out by seeing my purchases pop up in advertisements on 3rd-party sites. The sites that USE that data are going to lose my views and support. Time to curb my media consumption and be a more discriminating consumer. EVERYbody on YouTube, no matter how "liberal" they are, is participating in Corporatocracy. You guys are so worried about losing your meal ticket that you Bow to the Machine.

And some of the interviews were clearly performative, with a guy laughing and joking until the cameras start rolling, and turning on the tears like a faucet for the interview. Alex got out over his skies a lot. He didn't as often as some think, because a lot of the rants I saw were when he started out with "If this is what's going on, then..." If you came in on the "then" part, and didn't know it was a hypothetical, or if CNN left out the fact that it was a hypothetical, then you would definitely have a low opinion of his performances. Some people like that performative stuff, like Mark Levin or half the commentators on sports and news channels. But the damages assessed against Alex Jones were political. The lawsuit was political. The system has been weaponized against dissent for a long time, and for the past 10 years, the liberty and common sense voices have been the dissenter, which you probably don't know, given the talking point you threw out there.

I fear there will be a lot of violent activists being dealt with violently by the citizenry, directly and on the spot.   39. Putin has been very careful to keep the moral high ground with allies and would-be allies around the world. Before the referenda and the annexation, Donbass wasn't officially part of Russia. Now - as far as the Russians are concerned - those territories are now a part of Russia, and will be defended the same way Russia would defend any other part of Russia. Western leaders refuse to recognize the annexation as legitimate, and that's all they want Americans and Europeans to hear. But outside the Western echo chamber, what Putin's doing is brave and at the same time, punctiliously legal. Meanwhile, the Western propaganda machine is losing traction at home, which is the only place its nonsense ever GOT any traction.

  40. Nationalism can also be a bad thing. It's just not as bad as globalism, where the bad decisions of a few are visited on everyone in the world at the same time. I'd say nationalism before globalism. Regionalism before nationalism. Town before region. Neighborhood before town. Family before neighborhood. That's normal. In the human ecosystem, focus needs to be where it starts. Healthy families make healthy neighborhoods make healthy towns make healthy counties make healthy states(provinces) make healthy nations. People understand and worship this principle when it comes to environment, but they reject it when it comes to human beings, and then wonder why things got so messed-up.

They stopped using the phrase "international law," because 'we' flout international law all the time. "Rules-based order" gives the illusion/mask of "international law," but what it means is 'we' make up new rules as we go along and want to pretend what we're doing is legal.
