And not even a consensus of health officials, but just what some bureaucrat with "Dr." in front of their name. Clearly the best science was not followed. They just decided to drop everything for one thing, instead of balancing ALL concerns and most of all, letting people decide for themselves! There was NO DEBATE about lock-downs. Just ORDERS from people who didn't have the authority to GIVE such orders. This is the sorriest demonstration of state power run amuck since the draft during Vietnam, a war that didn't even have a declaration passed by Congress! So, an unsanctioned war, in which our boys were compelled to fight against their will, to NO REAL PURPOSE beyond the imaginings of ivory-tower policy wonks and weapons manufacturers.

There's no serious scientific debate over the extent and severity of global warming or that it is entirely CO2 driving it, nor is there serious debate over what should be done about it, if anything. What's being done by politicians won't put a dent in global temps, but it will make a lot of rich people even richer and make the rest of us a lot poorer. But to say things like that is to be censored or shadow-banned.

  17. Florida's about in the middle for COVID cases. But the media establishment (or just "the establishment") are determined to make DeSantis look bad. He's challenging their narratives. What we need to do is gear up to TREAT it. Get people in QUICK, and hone treatment regimes. I think it's pretty clear that the vaccine isn't proof against variants. HCQ, Ivermectin, monoclonal antibody treatments... I'd rather do that than be a vaccinated carrier, and risk showing up - or worse, NOT showing up - on VAERS, with chronic problems from the vaccine. Vaccine makes more sense for the elderly, as their childbearing days are behind them, and risk:benefit for survival short-term favors the vaccine. Maybe not so much for people expecting to live another 30 or more years. Not until we've got time series data on longitudinal study.

  44. We don't need to amend the U.S. Constitution for that shit to be illegal. The main thing we need is some sort of term limit on politicians and government employees. Working for the government should be a duty that you serve, reluctantly, for a short time, before going back into the real world, and NOT a career choice, where you're in a position to enrich yourself by force, using the monopoly on force enjoyed by the government. Social work and policing should be a young-adult gig. If you're doing it right, you're going to burn out. Government service should be something you do for a brief period after you retire. It should NOT be a career choice. "I'm proud of a lifetime spent serving the people in government. It's just a coincidence that I'm a multimiliionaire, despite never having produced a single product or service my entire career."
