But Estonia kept its language, culture, heritage, education and intelligence. Estonian growth and progress since the last occupation tanks left in 1994 has been one of Europe’s biggest success stories ❤

  25.  @Normalguy1690  there are small pockets of older generation Estonians that either have fondness towards Soviet times and often with Russian relatives, or remember the Nazis as liberators. However after 1991 and final tanks leaving 1994 a new independent brave Estonia has grown, educated in its long history of occupations and looking to the future. Any country with such a long history of occupation has ageing citizens with traumatised memories and Stockholm Syndrome. The Victims of Communism Monument in Tallinn, with many others speak loudly about the disappeared and horrors of Soviet era.
