  1. I’ve never ever heard of parents attending class with their child, why is there not an EA in class working with him? These parents are absolute idiots and deserve to be held accountable. This doesn’t just affect this teacher (who I feel horrible for and wish everything good) , it affects everyone in that school, their parents etc. This kid created an enormous trauma for so many people. Never have I considered my child being in a classroom with a gun toting 6 year old. But I am Canadian.

  6. Sue is really brave and compassionate. What a horrible situation to experience. She’s very genuine. Teens hide things from parents no matter what your relationship is with them. You can’t know every single thing your teen is thinking, even if you’re a wonderful, connected parent.

  15.  @christophertilley2629  meds can be an important part of treating mental illnesses. Many of us wouldn’t be here without them. Supports are also vitally important and yes, there are massive problems with wait lists etc. which needs to change.

  24.  @moneybags999  I’ve worked with ODD kids before. My EA friend has been hit, spit on, kicked, had her glasses thrown across the room by students too. EA’s go through a lot. Kids are entitled to an education and it’s a fine balance between them being in the classroom, taking breaks to calm down etc. and keeping them out of the classroom so they don’t disrupt other students. Controlling children is never the reasoning though, you don’t control kids or make them obey. This kid though, sounds like he shouldn’t have been in a “regular” classroom but a specialized one, which almost all schools have.

That’s true and the evangelical Christians here try to dominate everything, it’s so disturbing and ridiculous. That is awful that this teen athlete endured that hate and abuse.
