I agree with one here who previously in these comments urged people to remain positive in comments even as we deal with hard realities.

It always amazes me the number of people inside the USA and UK that are so hateful toward their respective homes without seeing and truly experiencing life in other parts of the world. Yet they never notice the people flocking to these nations rather tha trying to leave for other locations. Now, I admit and see every day the invasion we are under at our southern border caused by the current administration. I'm happy to help those genuinely in need for a new start to enter legally. The problem is the criminals and drugs passing illegally with them. My neurospecialists is originally from Iran and his family got out after the 1979 revolution. I admire the bravery young people there, in China and elsewhere literallly placing their lives on the line for frerdom. My point -- and I do not say this lightly and hope I do not get a bunch of troll replies -- is to seriosly be thankful for what we do have. My lifestyle has become modest, but I truly thank God for my freedom (though increaingly challenged) and know by the love of Christ I will make it with everlasting assurance. For you who have read this far, I pray you too will find solice in the Savior. And we each will heve an opportunity to help someonne in need. Be a blessing.

  40. One minute? That's just enough time to wake up, realize some bells are ringing, and search your house for them, not find them the first time and begin making a sandwich. My heart goes out for victims, but let this be a lesson not to rely on this kind of technology. Full disclosure: I thankfully have never expeerienced a serious earthquake (only tornadoes and hurricans), but the people I''ve spoken with that have experienced major quakes that say they would never have been saved by chiming bells.

One of the best complimnts I ever received was from a behind the scenes guy who was thanking me for calling him by name and speaking kindly and with respect to him. When I started a a young man I did get my hands dirty work. I think it helps build character even for we who went into more "professinal" careers. I admire these immigrants making their mark.

  50. In any family one can find some sort of discord. Heck I was always the "black sheep" because I would not live under my father's thumb. In fact after my mother died my father told me to never come around or contact them as I was kicked out of the family. Oh well, not my loss. God has taken care of me. What a man was 45 years ago, he is unlikely to be the same today. I'm thankful I'm not the same as I was. It is easy to throw mud from a distance. Politically? Trump/Vance 2024.
