  22.  @ashdog236  Also, just want to say that the average size range for a female spotted hyena is 44-64kg and for males it's 40-55kg. Hyenas weighing 95kg are exceptions and not relevant here, as I could also just say that painted dogs weigh 32kg, which is their larger size. Also, your use of lions as comparison and always saying that hyenas are the second largest land predators in Africa isn't really saying much, giving that lions are about 2-5 times the size of hyenas.

Fun fact, very fun fact: Spotted hyenas and painted wolves are literally the guys who eat their prey alive. There is only like 2 videos of painted wolves scavenging. Hyenas are obviously opportunistic and while they don't mind scavenging, they are very capable hunters, both alone and in a pack. Painted wolves on the other hand literally only scavenge if they're truly desperate, or if they find an easy meal from other predators like hyenas, leopards and cheetahs. I had 21 links I was supposed to post, but for some reason (Painted dog and hyena hunting techniques are gory, go figure) YouTube keeps deleting them.

  31. I find it actually funny how when a leopard or any big cat is getting dominated, it gets called a warrior who fought to the very end but when a hyena gets killed or attacked by a group of lions, it's a coward. Where's the logic in that?

  33. The vehicles barely disturb them actually. Leopards are literally ambush predators and are pretty much 95% silent when they attack. Also, to that leopard the cheetah wasn't a predator but prey.

Those laws don't apply to animals because their laws aren't ours to make. For humans as a species, those laws have been there for as long as we've existed.

  39.  @ashdog236  My guy the theory that female hyenas are larger has been disproven years ago. Despite that, when we thought that females were larger, the difference between the two was less than 10%. Also, I was replying to Dutti, who in his first comment stated that the average weight of hyenas in general was 84-92kg. They never mentioned that they were specifically referring to corky or ribbon.

  41. They had no reason to attack him. They could've certainly taken him, but the risk of injury is too much. They also just wanted the food and tried to scare him off.

  42.  @samo6083  Nah. Hyenas are better predators. Wolves have an abysmal hunting success rate of less than 15%, and hyenas have a success rate ranging from 33-75%. They also deal with lions who although would loose in a head on fight against a grizzly bear, are more equipped to deal with smaller animals. Comparing their competitors is a really bad way of comparing things because although some can be larger, they have different methods of doing things. Also, painted dogs are like half the size of wolves and the predators that are bigger than them in Africa are bigger by a landslide. At least twice their size. They also have a success rate that ranges from 66-90% The highest of any land mammal or any large animal, periodt. They're literally everything people think wolves are but better.
