  17. I agree with this 100% fighting at walk around weight is safer for the fighters and makes for better fights. They would need to add a couple weight classes, but the full reset is the reason it won’t happen. They would have to vacate every single belt.

  40. @SlappingSideways I’ve been watching since UFC 1, he’s not a top 50 striker, he has fantastic kicks. He can’t fight moving backwards. His boxing is nothing to speak of. He can’t handle pressure well. He makes bad decisions. His defence isn’t sound. He needs space to operate. The UFC has been in operation for over 30 years, in that time, it has had a LOT of striking discipline world champions come and go. Again, Edson is not in the conversation for greatest strikers in his division, let alone the sport.

  47. It’s all about how you use your time on the mic.. this is prize fighting, you don’t fight set opponents, so if you can gain attention and are at the level, shoot your shot. Dan took one of the best current guys in the world the distance in a split over 5, in one of the fights of the year.. that isn’t seen as a ‘loss’. Saying he shouldn’t fight ranked fighters because of that ‘loss’ makes no sense. For the record, he will put Dariush to sleeeeeeeep.
