I know that their buses that are made in CA have restrictions that native companies do not have. Tesla has the highest brand loyalty of any OEM, Mercedes is second, but the distinction that owners find in their Teslas is something that so far, most who are critical but have never even driven a Tesla do not really have any comprehension of.

  10. I would just like to say thanks for all the info that as a hobby investor I would probably not see if it weren't for your timely reports. You turned me onto both the stock that will become polestar, and the one that allows me to easily invest in CATL. Something I would not have had the patients to figure out myself. While my main investment is Tesla which represents slightly more then half of my portfolio, I do now hold about one and a half percent of my total in the polestar and CATL instruments. I think it is early in the game for both of them. One of my best buys has been in a rare earth and strategic metals etf, which shall go unnamed because every time I mention certain instruments, YouTube automatically deletes my comment. Nvidia has also done well for me, but I was in long ago. It is sort of in competition with Tesla in the AI, and FSD, realms and the stock values seem to roughly mirror each other. I also have some BYD and I probably should buy some more of that. I have more or less invested in a stack of ev related instruments, AI, and now robots I guess. Like yourself I am fascinated by all aspects of this industry, and I really don't know why. I usually have little interest in engineering and factories and such. I guess it's the "vision thing". If this thing ever really happens like Elon envisions, it will be an evolutionary quantum leap for human life. The old saying was, "What's good for GM is good for the USA" and at the time that was pretty, though not totally true. Now it's, What's good for Tesla is good for humanity. And that is pretty much true. I cannot wait to see what Tesla does with the incredible earnings it is destined to garner.

  12. Some little vector that the financial media hardly seem aware of it how world events have lined up to escalate EV adoption beyond what the "experts" have been able to realistically anticipate. I am not talking about rare earths, or strategic metals, or the many recent FUBAR international logistics, or even China's self immolation by covid policy. No -- I am talking about Russia. Russia is floundering about, trying every harebrained scheme they can come up with to export oil, and none of them is viable. The pipeline to China is small and outdated, and incapable of meaningful volume, they cannot insure any ships, and have no deep ports for supertankers. Of course PP will continue to be extremely necessary into the foreseeable future, but not for mass transport. Russia is not only destroying Ukraine, it is destroying the only thing it had going for it. In Europe ICE is not even close to viable, both economically and politically. Imagine what the case would be if Tesla Berlin had opened a year earlier than it did. The German fake eviro-shills really shot the whole of their nation in the dick on that one.

  13.  @hvh377  Look: we know that the over-all car market has shrunk last year, yet Tesla's sales have increased, therefore Tesla's share of the overall car market has increased. The parallax that Tesla's share of the EV market has decreased is meaningless. All it means is, as you said, if you start out with 100% of the market and others move into the market and even if they produce just a few units total, of course Tesla's share of the EV market will diminish as a percentage of the EV market. That is a truly meaningless metric. The kind of bassackward reasoning that is nothing more than rhetoric.

The fact that they are increasing market share in itself is not a statistic to "shout about" no one said it was, but you, in an attempt to justify your view, but the rate at which they are increasing production and sales certainly is. I find it hard to believe that you actually believe that you have a valid point here. Because that would mean you have no idea about what is actually happening and only care about contorting words to justify your silly comments -- like a child with no grasp of the difference between reality and their ideas.

If the over all car market has decreased, as it has last year. But Tesla has dramatically increased it's production and sales, then logically, Tesla's percentage of the overall car market has increased. If you are still not able to understand this, it is not because it is not logical, it is because you are not using logic. Let's look at it this way: T (Tesla) is a set that is a subset of O (Overall car market) if O has diminished but T has increased, then The ratio of T to O has changed. The change can be expressed by the sentence that the percentage of O that T represents has increased. No way around it. Though I am sure you will try.

  18. That's not how it works anywhere. Advertising that addresses unconscious desires works even if the people are aware that they are being manipulated. Quite like the placebo effect still working even when people are informed that they are receiving a placebo. Most of the people who think they made the decision to buy a Tesla based on facts alone are deluding themselves. The facts come as rationalizations after the emotions have decided what to buy.

  24. Personally I would rather have a lite fast EV with a 200 mile range than a heavy one with a thousand mile range. People are range delusional, they actually drive 35 miles a day and when they drive more they stop to eat and stretch. Or they should stop for a little walk and stretch every hour or so if they have any sense.

Doesn't matter there is no viable road network to use them on, very few roads, and fewer still that are maintained. Take a train, if you can find one.

Or perhaps you should study the demographics of highways in Siberia, or look at a roadmap of Siberia -- or more accurately a no-road map. As Peter Zeihan points out, the average land in Russia does not produce enough to justify a viable road network, that can be seen in how their military is limited to railroad deployment, because even a few hundred miles from Moscow their are no roads that can handle that kind of traffic. You are a typical buffoon, who comments without knowing the facts on the ground. Before you bother, I know there is a trans-siberian highway, one highway -- einstein, for one of the largest land areas on earth. In most Russian territory if it doesn't move by railroad then it better be able to move by dog sled -- cause their isn't any VIABLE ROAD NETWORK.

  31. Much if not most of Ford Credit is not made by financing private buyers cars but by the loans the dealers take out to put cars on their lot. So if a dealer has a five hundred unsold cars on his lot he is paying interest on a loan for every one of them. Dealers do not own the cars on their lots, they own a loan on them. That is why their are periodic rebates to dealers to flush out their cars and order the new model year. So Ford actually makes money on the dealers not selling.

  35. Where I live it takes about five minutes to change you electric usage to totally green and it actually costs less than the regular mix. That's great, but the fact that the vast majority of people have never taken five minutes to help reduce CO2 by making the switch and save money to boot sort of give you the real reading of the public not giving a flying F about the whole thing. And that is the real shame of it.

  36. I could understand if FSD were the only issue but that is far from the case. People seem to think that an EV is an EV, nothing could be further from the truth. On the YouTube channel What Car? They tested several EVs in a video titled How far can electric cars REALLY go?? – we drive 12 until they DIE! Tesla, BYD & more. I would put the link but sometime that causes my comments to be deleted by the YouTube AI overlords. So if you are interested in what distinguishes Teslas from other EVs you can watch Monroe Live and see the engineers astonished by Tesla's tech time after time, but that is really only appealing to people who like tech. Or you can watch something like the vid I recommend which explains why Tesla is superior to a Merc EV that actually has a few miles better range at a 20k higher price. No other company can match Tesla technology, though the smart ones (like Toyota and some in China) are attempting to copy it. That is not to even mention the fact that some people pay nothing to charge their EVs and even power their homes because of powerwall arbitrage agreements with power companies. I have seen people astonished when their monthly electric bill was less than two dollars after being nothing or even negative because of this program. You can always buy five year old tech from a German company for more than a Tesla. The same companies that have cheated for years all the people on earth with their computer scams on exhaust emissions. Volvo make fine cars but like many "European" OEM their evs are made in China, not necessarily a bad thing, if you want to support the CCP. Thought they are still a decade behind Tesla and will never catch up because Tesla is pulling further ahead by the week.

  40. You information is vastly incorrect. Take just mined nickel, for example, Russia is third, Indonesia is first and produces three hundred percent more nickel than Russia. New Caledonia is fourth, a tiny island country and it produces two thirds the total mined nickel that the huge country of Russia does. Tesla has recently signed contracts with a New Caledonia based company. In lithium Russia is not even in the game. It doesn't even appear in Kitco's top seven and the seventh is not all that big a producer while Australia is number one by far. In aluminium it is third, should say was third, because with the present situation I would bet that Russian production is falling off what it was. Similarly in uranium mining Russia was sixth, but perhaps no longer. So of all the metals you mention, your statement was only correct for two of them. Gordon Johnson like accuracy of information.
