The only national candidate with and actual record of confronting and speaking truth to power for fifty years. Even being arrested for demonstrating. People who are afraid of confrontation don't protest in the streets or defy the corrupt power elite. Bernie will crush trump, because trump is an act, like pro wrestling he is all lies and fake. Only the trump cultists will not see the piece of shit that he is if he debates Bernie. My money says he will refuse to appear on the same stage as Bernie because at heart like all bullies he is chicken shit.

He has a house in Vermont where his home is, he has a house in DC were he works, like all senators, and his wife's parents left them a house. He also wrote a NY Times best seller and still his entire worth is only two million dollars. You are so wrong you couldn't be more wrong. One out of every two hundred Americans is a millionaire, and most of them have more money than Bernie. But you just condemned Trump and every other congressman in DC as being crooked. With few exceptions you are correct they are mostly owned by the banking industry and other corporate elites, but Bernie is one of the exceptions. Stop spewing republican talking points we heard them all before and they are all spin and lies told to the truly brainwashed.

Because the bankers and lawyers that clean up the money that the cartels make don't want that, and they are the ones that own the government through the corrupt campaign finance system. All Private money must be out of all elections and all comments on elections. No PACs no Citizen's United bullshit. All of it out. That is the lynch pin for all your complaints. Just a moment of history here: When Jimmy Carter was president (the last good man to serve in that office: though a man of his times) he laid off a large number of CIA workers because of the dirty tricks they had been caught at. They in turn went to work for the Republican National Committee with the sole goal of getting rid of Carter. Many of these operatives had specialized in destroying economies in South America that threatened American investments with popular movements. These people went to work to wreck the American economy to get rid of Carter. And they did it. Remember the lines for gasoline and the line at unemployment offices, remember the hostages that were only released in Iran when Regan was sworn in? Then Regan proceeded to illegally sell arms to Iran, bring cocaine (via Bush connections in the CIA) into the American ghettos and use the proceeds to finance antipopulist movements in Central America called the contras that basically tortured and massacred all the populist strongholds of normal people who opposed plutocracy. When Bernie gets elected expect the same. We will have people striving to wreck the economy and blame it on Bernie's policies to get him out of office. They will probably be successful. Forewarned is forearmed.

  12. The USA is not a democracy. It was never intended to be a democracy by the founders. It is a constitutional republic, which is a form of government designed to present the illusion of democracy to the populace while keeping real power and wealth in the hands of a few families and power elite plutocrats. This may or may not be a good thing. A real direct democracy, which is only evident in a few regions of Switzerland and nowhere else in the world, or history, would be a catastrophe in a culture which is most typified by it's public information being basically one or another narrative that are actually partisan webs of lies, as are evident in all our mass media venues. You cannot have an effective democracy when there are no controls on the dissemination of disinformation and false narratives, by corporations chasing advertising revenues and scoundrels seeking power. To think this will ever amount to anything other than the hodgepodge of insanity that is our public forum of debate is itself insane. It's time to grow up and wrest the sinews of our culture from the vision-less power seekers who control it. Human culture must evolve to propel humanity into it's possible golden destiny on earth and among the stars. It is time to seriously move toward a culture that is a true meritocracy, a neoConfusian techno-meritocracy where there are government upgrades and not elections. Time to give up the old paradigms which are based on war and campaigns, deceit, and the scum rising to the top. We have the technology and science to design a system that can truly determine the best candidates for positions of collective responsibility, by extreme and unbiased vetting, background checks, psychological tests, judgement evaluations by performance in intelligence tests and performance in virtual scenarios, evaluation of past performance, sophistication of problem solving abilities and other verifiable objective methods rather than the standards now in use, (sex appeal, appearance, psychopathic tendencies, the ability to lie convincingly, what family you were born into, the animal lust to pursue power and how much you promise to steal for or from the one percent.) Also there must be consequences for the dissemination of disinformation and conspiracy fantasies in mass media. I suggest caning and banishment after the confiscation of all wealth.

Democracy and the so called representative democracy, democratic republic or constitutional republic are very different things. They are forms of democracy. In most cases minus the democracy part. When people blithely state that we live in a democracy it is incorrect and misleading, like most of the paradigms that the public is continually bombarded with via the corporate news. A republic is just a way for the plutocrats to stay in power and still have people think they are in a participatory democracy. The only democracy in US government is is that of congress, and they are 98% owned by the power-elite that decide who will run and fund their reelection campaigns with the legalized bribes of their campaign contributions. There is representation, but not for you and me. We live in a farce. Are you not paying attention? Do you think that this cheating is something new? Your "representatives" are not there to represent you, they are there for the most part to make sure that the voices of the people never get heard, and if they get heard to never be acted upon. Or if they are once in a blue moon forced by popular uprising to act for the people, soon as the masses disperse they will dismember the body that threatened their power one discontent at a time, jailed, disappeared, or simply smeared and ignored by the corporate media. Representative democracy is a convoluted fraudulent conception. Democracy is something that we are continually told we have, which we do not. We have democracy in the same sense that the slaves, women, citizens without land, and foreigners had a democracy in the golden age of Athens. Only they knew that they did not have a vote or any real participation in the government. Most Americans do not know that. It should be obvious to anybody with the slightest ability to perceive what is actually going on that this is a conceptual illusion that is used to mislead and quell the disenfranchised mob. Bring on the super-delegates, the Iowa national delegate formula, the electoral collage, the PACz and Citizens United -- a democracy would not abide these contaminants, or entertain their adoption for even a moment. A democracy and the state we live in are two very different things. In a democracy the one with the most votes is not the loser like in the USA. The courts have decided that even determination of who will be the candidates, such as occurs in the legendary smoke filled rooms of the DNC and RNC has no legal obligation to be fair or democratic in our two party system. . . . ??????? We live in a kleptocracy with a democratic shroud over it, and most people, like almost all people, do not understand how their rights and money are being stolen from them by corporate pilferage and plunder. In fact our present government is functionally a cryptofascist kleptocracy in which all real power, control of the men with guns and uniforms, the state, and the economy is held by a small group of lying psychopaths. Bernie understands that the lynch-pin of all the legalized corruption in our constitutional republic is campaign finance. What now passes for "business as usual" was not long ago a criminal act. But many progressives do not understand this. They are bored by the subject but excited by all kinds of meaningless PC rhetoric. While I was at a Nader rally in Santa Cruz back during his 2000 run, he said he had time for one more question. I yelled out "Campaign finance!" When he indicated that this was the subject he would address there was an audible groan from this most progressive crowd in America's most leftest town, . I guess most people never consider the fact that if Nader had won, we would have never attacked Iraq and the 2008 great recession (where-in the same people who caused it were put in charge of fixing it and managed to steal trillions in public funds for themselves and the institutions they hid their criminal activities behind) would never have occurred. And I would like to remind everyone that the criminals behind this, who had bribed the legislative branch with campaign contributions, were also the people who changed the laws to allow this disastrous turn of our republic. Which was unequaled until the retrograde idiot section of the supreme court passed Citizens United and other decisions of a antiAmerican nature that benefited the one-percent and their brain-washed right-wing idiot minions.
