@suokkos No. Deterrence is also much cheaper economically too. The fact that you aren’t aware of that shows just how poor a job POTUS has done explaining the reasons for providing aid to Ukraine. They also haven’t explained that we haven’t spent a dime on equipping them since 90% of what they’ve been given are retired or retiring decades-old arms that were paid for in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Many of which were costing us millions of dollars to scrap like DPICM, HMWWVs, MRAPs, etc. Those big $ signs people see = being spent on 🇺🇸 companies with 🇺🇸 employees building new equipment for the 🇺🇸 military. The only new arms going to 🇺🇦 in any quantity are mostly just shells and some of their GMLRS. And even if we pretended those dollar figures we saw was $ being spent on them it’d still only account for literally .002% of GDP.

YOU’RE ALEX HOLLINGS!
1
You mean TWO SU57s. There have been serial production SU57s.
1
@suny1265 lol, how can the SU57 shoot down anything when it basically doesn’t exist? Besides, you don’t even have any living pilots experienced enough to combat the most green USAF, Naval, MC, etc. aviator.
1
But this could be done much more cheaply. OTH, if it’s very successful, it means our enemies could now have a much more affordable and technically feasible way of creating active stealth UAVs to use against us.

Golden shower and golden dome for the golden dummy.
1
They’ve fixed their top management problems. They’ve gotten rid of all the scummy, greedy former McDonnell Douglas and GE executives.
1
Anyone who knows anything about DEWs/lasers know that beyond downing tiny drones and doing some blinding of low orbit satellites, they’re not capable of much yet.
1
US officials only “didn’t see it that way” after Ukraine went in without their permission and Russia did nothing. Biden’s support has been pathetic. Now, we’ll have a guy likely to help Russia.
1
The Greeks won’t give anything. They act like they’re actually about to go to war with Turkey at any moment.
1
He doesn’t know anything about subs. That’s the problem.
1
@ It’s not a defense. It’s an exposure of an agenda and a disingenuous line of debate. Bottom line, the PRC’s notorious for smoke and mirrors. I’ll believe when I see it in action.
1
@narmortein537 Are you referring to China’s toxic garlic?
1
@Sandboxx gives the PRC lots of credit. Go to Millennium 7 if you want a PRC shill.
1
@ I see you are well fed by the notoriously impartial Chinese state media. Media literally written by the CCP. 🤣 🤣
1
@ lol, that’s your retort? copy and paste this: “China’s Abandoned, Obsolete Electric Cars Are Piling Up in Cities A subsidy-fueled boom helped build China into an electric-car giant but left weed-infested lots across the nation brimming with unwanted battery-powered vehicles.”
1
@ Cool story, bro!
1
Nah, you can drink 10 feet of water in about 15 seconds regardless of the area size that depth covers.
1
You’re Alex Hollings! It’ll be a few years before they even have 30 let alone 80+ and sadly, the US will never give the Ukraine the AIM-120D. I doubt they’ll get the AIM-9X either.
1
F-16s aren’t cheap to build.
1
Russia and China has drawn us into the pointless HGV race. This is mostly a chest puffing contest.
1
The inevitable future of endless numbers drones of all types, size and purpose is terrifying.
1
The flying sub would need to be stealth. A larger yet still small submarine sounds a lot more realistic. Why not just land with a seaplane or parachute in and then use scuba DPVs for the rest of the journey? Using on a kodiak at night from about 50 miles sounds more practical.
1
This topic is a dead horse.
1
Only corruption can prevent their success.
1
He agrees with you. He was addressing the agendas of those who’d dare even claim it.
1
I believe the F15 EX actually has the most powerful radar in the world with APG-82. BTW, can we still call the F35 an acquisition boondoggle considering it essentially turned out to cost less than many past platforms? The real question though isn’t unit purchase cost, it’s how much each unit will cost when you included life maintenance and operation cost. I know the F14, for example, was supposed to be an absolute maintenance nightmare.
1
Just like all the streaming channels, it can all be covered with a +: Gen 5+! BTW, CRANE is the most DARPA acronym ever.
1
I’d love to drive around with that massive radar tower in my truck. That’d be hilarious.
1
Just call it what it is, straight up IP theft and copying. Anyway, it makes sense both are to air-to-air oriented since they mostly anticipate needing their LO aircraft for operations against American aircraft.
1
YOU’RE ALEX HOLLINGS!
1
Yeah, we always knew they were never going to adopt this idea. The Lancer has basically been on the edge of being retired before it even hit service. It’s a sexy plane though.
1
What’s the name? Skyborg, sir. Defunded!
1
That’s his intro every time. He just wants everyone to remember his name. 😂
1
@afriendofafriend5766 Serious people care. It’s just a little tip off on how well someone knows their stuff.
1
@eugenemurray2708 Who does?
1
The Israelis had true drones way before the MQ1 Predator.
1
Old? The B-52 meets that criterion. The F-117 is quite young. But yeah, they look incredible.
1
@140theguy You’re right. Looking up more armament diagrams, I see the layout you’re talking about and it tilts the odds further, but I still see zero chance based on what we’ve seen in real world engagements that two F-22s are taking out 10 F-15EXs, especially since they’ll lose that stealth when they open their bays considering the F-15EXs will be carrying a lot more missiles, especially long range ones while also having a more powerful radar, at least for the moment and the fact that countermeasures are guaranteed to ensure that the F-22s are not achieving anywhere near a 1:1 missile to kill ratio.
1
@TheThetruthmaster1 Both have a big enough cross section that it makes little to no difference. They have both have a very large RCS. If $ no was no object, both could have their RCS reduced by a large factor simply using RAM and a few other details. Boeing did produce a Silent Eagle version which had all internal payloads + RAM and other RCS reducing features which drastically improved its RCS. South Korea was considering purchasing it, but eventually didn’t.
1
@140theguy I think that further supports the argument that, while the F-22 is undoubtedly the most lethal and survivable plane ever made by a large margin not to mention the coolest looking, expecting just two to be able to defeat 10 F-15EXs working in tandem is unrealistic. I agree though that if each F-15s waited their turn to go one-on-one with the F-22, there’s a realistic chance they might be able to pull it off if they were willing to risk their own aircraft. If not willing to risk losing their own aircraft, I think the odds are exceedingly slim even in that type of scenario.
1
@rogerbiggerstaff3293 lol, I never said it was. But the fact is the thing that he claimed happened in a red flag exercise didn’t.
1
@JoshWalker1 It still wasn’t close to earning an LO badge. However, it’d likely improve its survivability a good bit in A2A and against IADS.
1
If it is all reliant on GPS, it may prove ineffective against any near peers. The GLSDB proved a massive failure. If not and the unit cost comes way down, it’ll be great.
1
Bob Lazar announcing a new element which was used to fuel recovered alien craft 30 years before science later discovered that new element did exist convinced me he was telling the truth.
1
C-RAM, but I’m not talking about close in anti-air guns.
1
@hedwigugla8836 Go kiss the feet of your emperor while he rides around in yachts and you don’t even have an indoor toilet, your dams collapse, your crime spins out of control, your inability to stop terrorists, etc.. 😂 Owned!
1
DEW (direct energy weapons) need to weigh tens-of-thousands of pounds to be able to knock down more than just a flimsy drone. So, it’s not going to be realistic within our lifetimes.
1
I’ve served. Many love to exaggerate. This last one was no different than a workplace accident in a factory, cargo facility, etc. Also, these guys are serving in an extremely low danger zone. However, they are working long hours.
