My biggest concern, despite all the talk about SS being non-flammable, is that in a fully charged cell, there is a layer of Lithoum metal. Lithium is HIGHLY reactive and if exposed to air (I.e. in case of an accident), will immediately burn fiercely on the presence of oxygen! Admittedly, this would not be due to thermal runaway, only mechanical cell damage, but even so, it would be a lie to say flammability is not an issue!

My wife got similar ones for her Corolla. Very nice.

@RWBHere would you drive an ICE car through a burning pool of petrol to see what happens? If not, why not?
1
And they'll soon be introducing M3P cells into M3. Game changer!
1
They need to!
1
Maybe that's what the PTC's for?
1
It's beefy.
1
If that's what you're happy with... Sounds like you are.
1
This is why the 4680 cell design development has taken so long. Cell balance is (obviously) critical to lifetime. The BMS has a serious job to do!
1
So has Sandy!
1
@ariip too good an offer to refuse,I'd say...
1
Foregone conclusion...
1
Obvs.
1
Sandy really likes frunks!
1
Nice back seats...
1
Side casting?
1
@markplott4820 ... and that's the difference!
1
Re the radiant heating, wouldn't this be more efficiently done if the panels (in the IP, after all), were fed by the heat pump? They can't be running it at abnormally high temp's.
1
@rui569 makes no difference if it's pinning you to the ground.
1
@carholic-sz3qv 😮
1
And that's why you won't be able to...
1
Seemed original enough to me!
1
"Hunday". Really?
1
Coz they're rubbish at it.
1
Give a few to Jordan G.!
1
Seniors moment, classic! But now we know what's REALLY on his mind!!!
1
@thinkmonkeyman looks like it gets awfully complicated awfully quickly!
1
"Today standards" lol.
1
@briananthony4044 to buy a new one?
1
In Australia, us Bogans would say "... through youse guys." which is slightly more gramatically correct...
1
Yes, and all components are chemically deactivated.
1
Stop being a FUDster.
1
Until...
1
Possibly for improving thermal performance, but not sure. More likely just corrosion resistance
1
It's his 'standard' opening - signature piece. Haven't you watched before?
1
@aussie_al we have another term for it here in Aus, *rselicker... If yours is clean, now you know.
1
Now we know why Tesla doesn't advertise...
1
Kia gave him the car he didn't want, to review...
1
You got it!
1
Tell Arther, too...
1
"Breaking" lol. It's broken alright...
1
@f4c3l355 hahah!
1
A separate screen just for the front passenger, but none in the back. Show-off stuff.
1
I imagine the liquid electrolyte would be the main problem, so probably need to be kept above freezing at least.
1
Hmm, you don't want much, do you?
1
As I understand and can remember, it is virtually exactly what they predicted on battery day!
1
He has one, he knows. He didn't want to sound like he was dissing the Lucid.
1
The radiant heaters should be fed off the heat pump...
1
Fly-by-wire steering would require another motor and whole circuit and software to provide tactile feedback through the steering wheel. A mechanical linkage provides that feedback in an uncomplicated way.
1
@Marlow925 that would 'loosen' you up a bit!
