@richfarfugnuven6308 I’ve worked in Autobody field for 37 years. Full frame trucks get totaled much faster. Please don’t tell me. I love off of changing frames and fixing them due to small accidents.

Not really. Problem is the heads. They have small ports and small turbo. Acura did that to give best performance at a low RPM. Unfortunately it’s maxed out at 355 hp. If you want more power, plan on spending 25k on ported heads, manifold, turbo, etc to make over 400hp. Then the transmission is now the weak link. It’s not able to handle that much power. That’s why Honda dialed it back. To protect it from blowing. Acura even warns about driving in Splus mode for long time. It’s just a quick daily driver that handles great. Don’t expect more power.

Chevy was also smart as they opened up their market to other countries with a right hand drive American car. A first for American car company. They totally shocked me with what they have accomplished.

Why? Its AWD is superior. Its engine and trans is just lacking. Get an M340 if you want a fast sedan.

@palebeachbum that’s false. Pixel displays fail. New mmi systems don’t fail unless it’s a crappy brand. Chip technology today is phenomenal. Cars will rust out first before they give out.

@devn3813 Hybrid saves thousands of dollars a year in fuel savings. In 10 years, that’s a massive savings. The saving alone is triple what the hybrid cost extra. Especially if one is going from 30mpg to 50. Now take that saved money from fuel, invest it and compound it for 10 years. It will pay for the car.

75k is a lot. For an extra 20k, you can get an Audi SQ7 with over 500hp and that’s a powerhouse. Plus it’s 10 times more fun to drive. If one doesn’t need the 7 passenger, the X5 is a perfect SUV to buy.

The accord is hybrid with no turbo. It’s not even a performance car. So you can’t compare it to this. Accord is now a commuter car.

Acura isn’t that fast. Engine is bottlenecked. Small port heads and locked UCU. Transmission is also a weak point.

@robdswingingcrypto6228 RS3 is the most reliable performance car I’ve had in 37 years. I’ve had 100’s of cars. 100k on it now. Pound on it daily. You simply don’t know anything about them. There’s a reason why these are holding value amazing. Audis best drivetrain next to V10.

Sad how badly they fell down the ladder. I don’t see them ever coming back with an ultra high performance sedan. Problem is their parts can’t handle it. They should have went German ZF transmission. The 10 speed is bad for high performance.

Q8 is only a 5 passenger. It feels a little more athletic. X5 is another great performer for same price. Get the base B58. Awesome drivetrain in that.

I can afford this with ease , it is a Z4. The only difference is the outside design. Don’t let anyone fool you. It’s gonna be a great car and glad BMW did manufacture it. But here are true facts of BMW and this guys fiction claims. I know this guy is a legend, but after these claims, I have lost respect for him. We had a whole discussion about it in a private BMW group. Someone is gonna call him out. The double hood latch with a double pull this guy speaks of is a BMW design. It’s been like this on every BMW since 7 years. It’s a BMW Exclusive double pull. He says the sound pumped in is faint and didn’t want it to distract from the real sound. That’s exactly what BMW designers said 2 years ago with M2. He said the door sill goes against Toyota design cause they want easy access, but had to make it thick for strength. I call bullshit too. He had no say. It’s BMW structural design. Identical to a Z4. He said he left spaces for coolers too. If you look at Z4, it has space too. Another bullshit claim. I’ve been in the car industry for 30 years and I can not be fooled. He may be an awesome guy, but he just helped with design of exterior and slight interior only cosmetics. This video will come back and haunt him. These are the worst claims I ever heard in the industry.

Acura recommends not driving it in that mode constantly. The 10 speeds are not that stout.

@Superdimensional You can’t tune these. Acura locked them down. Plus the heads have tiny ports. Expect to pay 20k plus to gain 100 more HP. Then the transmission will blow. That’s why you don’t see any modded.

What tunes. Fastest I’ve seen are mid 14’s all modded. You need to change the heads and turbo to make anything more than 400. Not worth 20k in mods. Plus the transmission is weak point. Honda should have went ZF instead of weak 10 speed in-house.

You should never use 4Hi at 50. It’s bad for transfer case. Keep it under 35 to be safe so you don’t cook it. This is not an AWD system.

Yours is only good at slow speeds and for a short 20 minutes. Anything more will burn out that transfer case.

@SkippyPB. M340 is its competition. M340 kills it in every category. Tune it and it’s a 10 second daily driver with ease. Acura TLX S has no tuning capabilities.

@SkippyPB. M3 and RS5 are in a different class way above it. Those are true performance sedans with extremely high limits. Plus they have tuning capabilities that take it to even higher limits. TLX S is a 4 on a 1-10 scale. M340 is 7. M3 and RS5 are 10.

TLX is not fast. If you want a fast sedan to blow away mustangs on the road, get a BMW M340 or even better an Audi RS3. Those are easy 10 second cars with mild bolt ons.

TheRealCatof RS3 5 cylinder and B58 are the most bulletproof engines. Thats why they are wrecking the competition. I’ve been building engines and cars for 36 years. These engines are as stout as they come. These cars are killing Plaids in racing. Do your research instead of spreading misinformation. TLX will never handle these high horsepower numbers. The 10 speed will blow with anything more than 400 TQ. That’s why Acura limits it under 6k rpm. It’s not a performance transmission.

TheRealCatof You are wrong. The B58’s are making over 1000 hp. A simple search will show you. The 5 cylinder community is all built cars. All running 10’s and faster. Many of us with 100k problem free. Many of us running 800 plus. Good amount over 1200. Search Iroz Motorsport. Watch him race Ken Block in the Hoonicorn Mustang. RS3 beats it two times. Beyond impressive. So please don’t tell me. I know first hand as I own them and build them.

The new Dodge 6 cylinder HO is heavier, has 4 wheel drive, and is massive. It’s actually faster 0-60 than the type s. Dodge does 4.5. It’s all in the engine. Acura dialed this engine back to make good hp and torque at low rpm. They kept rpm’s under 6k to save the engine and transmission. I’ve been around engine development for 36 years. Acura failed to make this a high performance engine. It’s also something a tune can’t fix. The small head ports are at its max limits. It’s bottlenecked. That’s the absolute worst. Acura failed badly for tuners on this.

I always liked this guy, but he lost credibility in this video. He makes too many claims for BMW decisions on manufacturing. He claims double latch and double pull. It’s been BMW’s design for 7 years. Not his at all. Claims there is a distinct engine noise pumped in, but not to distract from the real engine sound. That’s the same claim bmw made about the M2 years ago. He goes on about the side door sill being wider and how it goes against Toyota’s design so you don’t get dirt on your legs. Then says it was a strength design on their part. The Z4 has the same sill. It was bmw structural design that he had no say in. He said he left space for coolers. There is space on the Z4 also. Another bullshit claim. He also claimed that they split with BMW team so they didn’t know what each was doing. BMW manufactured every part of this car. BMW even claimed it was their design and they were getting the better tune with closer to 400hp, where the Toyota was tuned to 336hp. I love how he claims he left it for the tuners to get more power. Sorry, BMW had upper hand in this decision. We have a private bmw group where we had a good conversation about this. It may come back and haunt him. Too many false claims on behalf of BMW’s manufacturing decisions. I’ve been in the industry for 30 years and have never seen blatant bullshit claims like this. Yes he did design the exterior and minor interior cosmetics. That was it.

@krashnpa The only Honda engine worth getting now is the hybrid. I never thought I would say it, but it’s super reliable and enough instant torque for the roads. Handles good too. My buddy bought one and I drove it. He had me do a lot of research for him seeing I know a ton about cars for 36 years. Honda will eventually go all hybrid. Now they need a more powerful option with 300hp. Plus a better looking accord. The civic hybrid is a superb car.
