@generalripper7528 Again you're approaching this from a very emotional point of view. Lets be a little realistic here. Russia is a second rate power, I don't think you'll find one rational person who believes France's military might surpasses Russia's. France is losing it's grip in Mali as even the tribesmen there are realizing France is a third rate power and are in the process of trying to kick them out of Mali. This is probably a very good thing for the people of Mali because how long should they be subjugated, controlled and economically exploited by the regime in Paris? As far as French influence in Libya, aside from playing a leading role in destroying that nation for no apparent reason, their influence there is waning beyond repair. They are having difficulty exerting any sort of influence on events unfolding there. Read up on it sometime, why do you think France is so hot skipping mad that Turkey entered the Libyan conflict and swayed the conflict in a different direction. France at this point is nearly powerless in Libya. Compare all this to 20 or even 10 years ago. French influence is dying off and their opponents can smell the blood in the water. As again it's probably a very good thing for the well being of average citizens in places like Libya, Algeria and other African nations who have suffered so much from French brutality.

@generalripper7528 I wouldn't be shocked if France is helping fund the Islamic extremists to use it as a pretext to continue their 100 year occupation of these poor nations. Most of their funding for Islamic extremist groups in Africa comes from the UAE which France works with regularly to arm Libyan rebels so it wouldn't shock me. These people won't allow themselves to be pillaged and robbed by the French forever. The signs of the tide turning is already their. France's proxy's in Libya lost and the internationally recognized government there wants nothing to do with the regime in Paris. Same issue in Mali where their new government doesn't want the regime in Paris to meddle in their affairs anymore. It's a win for the poor people in the region who've been suffering from French brutality for so long.

@sebastienrimbeau6867 The issue with France being an average power is that their regime in Paris seems to think they're still a superpower and tries to act accordingly and it always blows up in their face. Also France I'd imagine is more than just a middle power, it's a second tier power. But again when they try to act like a first tier power problems arise

@mathewmbogo5051 No. It means they likely are but this case wasn't about if they're doing it or not. It was about is there enough evidence to show that it is potentially happening and that being used to order them to stop. For the court to make even that kind of ruling shows the mountain of evidence against Israel. The real genocide case which is starting soon will take about 2-3 years to conclude. If that court isn't somehow politically coopted, Israel is going to be found guilty. The evidence is quite overwhelming.

@Patrick-y4d1z I don't think you understand what this hearing was about. This case wasn't a case to rule of genocide is happening or not. South Africa's lawsuit was to kick start a court case for genocide. They had to prove there was enough evidence that genocide could potentially be taken place to spark the genocide trial. South Africa won. The question of if Israel is guilty of genocide or not is a trial that will take 2-3 and now the wheels have been set in motion.

@Patrick-y4d1z Again this case wasn't to decide if there is genocide or not. This case was to see if a genocide case will be opened. Which it was. South Africa won the lawsuit. The genocide case itself will take 2-3 years. And if political forces don't intervene there is a boatload of evidence to find Israel guilty.

An emotional response if you will. Akin to people wanting to believe men can get pregnant. When the reality is quite different. Cognitive dissonance seems to be a powerful thing in our society. @Patrick-y4d1z There was more than enough evidence presented at the recent court case in public that warranted to opening up of a genocide trial. So what you're telling me is that you were too lazy to either watch the court case or even read South Africa's 84 page report with all the evidence of genocide (which the court accepted) And the only way for you to even stay alive in this debate is to ask me to write that 84 page report in the comments section here? Is that seriously your argument? Also your last paragraph makes no sense, it is obvious you were even too lazy to look up the legal definition of genocide as layed out in the 1984 genocide convention or even understand what "in whole or part" means in english. There is a phrase which says "to destroy in part or whole any group" Wiping out the people in Gaza (which Israeli officials have publicly said is the plan) is the definition of genocide. The hardest part of proving genocide is proving intent. Which oddly enough in this case is simple because Israeli government officials have been making public statements stating what their goals are. Again if you had read South Africa's evidence report given to the court you'd know that. You're too lazy to look up the things you're trying to debate and then using some woke type logic where your feelings try to determine facts which you aren't even aware of? Honestly you might as well try to convince me men can get pregnant. If you want to debate this, read the court transcripts, learn what genocide actually means and try again.

Obviously saying the 84 page report means nothing to do, if reading it will destroy your entire worldview. More children have died in Gaza in just 2 weeks than allthe children killed every single conflict around the entire globe since 2020, including the huge 2 years Russia/Ukraine war. No other nation behaves this way or works this hard to wipe out civilians. In fact the world hasn't seen a fully mechanized army going out of it's way to kill as many civilians as possible since WW2. This is obviously showing to most of the planet.
