@toromanow I don't think they would feel the need for such a buffer zone if Nato didn't expand so close to their borders. This is a horrible situation and I fear it will not end well for the people living in these nations. :O(

So true.

@joenarbaiz1640 Oh my my god, were you dropped on your head as a child?
1
@joenarbaiz1640 So making me think you have an IQ of 70 was your goal? If so, yes mission accomplished. Well done Skippy.
1
@Rodeo Ranger, That isn't going to happen my man and these fighters know that. They're simply there to because it's an opportunity to kill Russian soldiers as a form of revenge. They're not under any delusion to think that Ukraine in the future will do anything for them.
1
@Poppystars, Oh I'm sure there is a lot of what you're saying going on considering the amount of propaganda we're bombarded with here in the west about the war. But in this specific instance I'm not so sure. It is very believable that a bunch of Chechen dudes would show up there just for a chance to kill Russian soldiers.
1
@Deniz Liberal, We would have inflation even if this conflict never started. In fact our inflation was growing out of control well before Russia invaded Ukraine. Not to say rising energy prices due to the war didn't poured fuel on an already burning fire. The middle class around the entire globe is probably going to get wiped out in the next 10 years.
1
My guess would be in the thousands. Also when you say "illegally" what do you mean exactly? As far as international law is concerned there is nothing illegal about it. As far as American law, yea it probably is illegal for the government to send fighting men there without approval of Congress. But since when did the ruling elite in this country care about legality?

Underrated comment lol

@SeekingFreedom369 Gold comment. The term democracy has somehow morphed into being a weapon now.
1
@Robert Hoyt, Veto votes generally don't work that way.
1
No bro, more like 10,000 western liberals. They'd be too busy trying to figure out what gender they are and arguing over who misgendered who while the 10 Chechens slowly slaughter them all lol
1
@leohorishny9561 Or a guy who no longer trusts the media. What is more likely?
1
@nerdymcnerdface7782 Actually they did quite the opposite. When Armenia illegally invaded this territory in the 1990s it brutally ethically cleansed over 800,000 Azeri civilians. When the Azeris recently took the territory back, less civilians died than die in car accidents in that country. Was nice to see a nation showing that level of restraint considering the situation.
1
That's exactly what they want, they want to bait Russia into a quagmire and drain them. Look at the types of weapons we're sending to Ukraine, they're mostly for guerilla warfare. Then as an added benefit they can ramp up defense spending without having to really explain it to the taxpayers. It's really a win win for the establishment which has been starved of this kind of action for 4 years while Trump was in office.
1
@Matt Dahl, Everything thought we did but after the recent leaks it's pretty much confirmed that we have a boatload of special forces over there. Which btw is a terrifying situation.
1
@Rangersfan that really can't be done in anyway that doesn't end with tons of violence. Most states have red and blue districts all over the place. You can't geographically separate them, so what is your solution? Both sides to start literally cleansing people out of certain areas? Because that is exactly what will happen with each side trying to nab more territory. I can't think of anyway this type of thinking can end without a disaster. The best thing to do is to find a formula to keep the country intact and come up with solutions to make it work. Perhaps the Supreme Court is on to something here. Let each state decide how they want to be governed on some highly sensitive matters.
1
They're not there to fight for freedom or justice. They're there to because it's an opportunity to kill Russian soldiers. If you know anything about what Russia did to their country years ago, you'd know this. They dont' give a flying fuk about your high minded ideals lol Just like they probably don't think men can get pregnant and 500 different genders exist.
1
@Aviation Nut, it makes sense that every nation in an alliance should have to agree before taking on the task of bringing in a nation they are obligated to defend. It makes sense. It's a system which has worked well since the inception of Nato. Hell even the UN security council works this way.
1
@GM-cj1qf He might be referring to those 50 other nations we either invaded or caused a civil war in because we didn't like their government.
1
@wilsonjusup8718 800,000 civilians don't just "poof" vanish into thin air. Ethnic cleansing deniers always show up when you least expect it.
1
@ОлексСтеп Don't you mean the United States intelligence agencies and USA funded military?
1
@Hayes Dabney, the dominate group is not under threat, in fact they're more powerful today than they've ever been. The uber wealthy elite that own everything are the dominate group and again they're more powerful than they've ever been. They feel no reason to fight. They'll make weaker groups fight each other while they watch and grab more power.
1
Because the Russian security forces will kill their families and burn down their villages back home. That is why.
1
@Selza Selza, you and a lot of people. Same thing happened to the Republicans in the 2000s when George Bush and crew got knee deep in establishment politics. It's funny how every cycle the powers that be will simply switch sides and perform the same policies lol
1
None of this matters for Sweden at least, their membership is going to get a Veto. Finland I'm not so sure.
1
@commoncentz3148 Russia and Ukraine have had this for quite a while now. Why did Russia recently send over a list of demands it has from the west, or America in particular? It's because we've recently accelerated moving in weapons into Ukraine. The sad part in all this is that the ones being hurt won't be the Russians or us Americans. It will be the poor Ukrainians stuck in the middle of the chess board.
1
@commoncentz3148 And how about the boat loads of weapons we've been sending there before all this? This is insanity.
1
@commoncentz3148 If you had times and exact dates, you wouldn't need to research. I'd imagine it isn't difficult to find on google what military equipment Nato nations have been sending to Ukraine. There is something called google. You can't be this lazy can you?
1
@commoncentz3148 I basically told you something which nearly everyone knows. Instead of actually putting in the work to find out what is what your defense is asking someone else to do the work for you? Calling someone a Trumptard in a debate about foreign policy shows that you aren't a serious person. This really isn't the place for a person who views the world through a partisan hack point of view.
