  12. Larry made the smart move here. No one looks after your well-being better than you. Went thru 10 shops in one year when 40 . Last one was 2 bay service station gravy for 25 yrs. Place grossed near $2million annual. 10 pumps half full svc. Nieghborhood Custs just wanted stuff fixed fast. Retirement's been nice for last decade.

  18. Malibu is testimony to how fast Florida Salt Sea Air starts surface corrosion. Texas Gulf Coast cars similar, they rust from top down , vs bottom up from salted roads. Running vehicles on the beach causes both types !

  22. Fiat is 1st step in Italian car acclamation. That's gettin used to frequent and expensive service. On the other side of this equation, you'll find Honda/Toyota that finds many customers despite higher MSRP.

These embossed sealant gaskets very compliant new, most forgiving. And in the end it doesn't leak anymore. Was actually mo interested in why part had been tampered with before, creating a yuge leak . That said, I find 2nd guessing Ray or any other competent tech , very rude. Each has their own way of doing things . Mistakes are made and learned from. I never needed or tolerated Peacocks looking over my shoulder in 40+ yr career. Was always quite aware what's not right and how to correct it @ nearly the same time.

  25. Probably not. Many engines are sensitive to OE plugs. Different ones change ignition resistance, I suspect

  31.  @Brisco_County_Jr  Actually it is 304 stainless (with nickel) that makes it slightly magnetic but lasts (with slight corrosion) 4 life of most vehicles. Virtually all mass production stuff's being that for last few Decades or so. The steel pipe of old would have complete rust patina, if it existed at all. Ck It Out....... 304 stainless

  41. I'm 76. I'd put one of these on a carb'd car in a heartbeat. Well, actually, did on 72 nova 350 AC, Ps , 4L80 auto. Now it starts, drives like my Camry Wgn. But runs 12.80s like clockwork @ 4200lbs Ya , if has good cyl hds, roller cam, etc.

  43. About $5000-$9000 job with all the add'l labor. Eventually economy of time will kick in and jobs more carefully vetted. Yah , Ray's young now, but time and experience will be excellent guides to future decisions

  48. The very last vehicle i fixed was rear suspenion on a old Jag sedan. After discussion [with nu mgmt team] about quality of parts for repair, was laid off after 45 yr ASE Master career and 24yr with same shop. Ya, kinda sad , but every cloud has silver lining. No One should Q Ray's method's or approach to anything he does. You're not there to know all that's involved. If you think you can do better, just sign up @ any shop. Break out you tools and show what you got.
