@mrmalavey1098 Ya, fire thing effectively fix's all, and usually hides incriminating evidence @ same time.

Techs loved BG products. Vendor paid quarter for each BG token . Stuff seemed to work ok
4
Expedience. Also hefty chunk of metal unlikely to warp. But then you do it your way and I do it mine.
4
Amen to that !
4
@wirefeed3419 believe this critter had some miles . Suspected chain slap wasn't there as it was Tite. While many think phaser rattle ok, it wasn't present in 1st 100k or so. No doubt good cause for users concern.

You are the Knight in Shining Armour
3
they actually run well. lotsa fun on Vegas traffic
3
And we're all thankful for that great diagnostic tool.
3
No rust vehicles in USA are inhabitants from mid east Cal to CenTex. Coast's and salted road states can be Canada Nasty
3
Why leaving Midwest for centex 4 decades ago was a good move !
3
Curious as to why rear toe off on full frame vehicle with substantial locating arms. Driver must do some serious curb slamming !
3
Common age issue. That new timing covers readily available speaks volumes. Did neighbors @ 170k since runs fine.
3
Wow , results impressive. Now owner can invest in tyres. RR looks a tad short on tread
3
Gotta B heartwarming to no former employ losin boatloads of $$$ , turning down work, whilst searching for the 3 techs needed for Ray's output. Happy Hunting !
3
Your labor should be at least 2x the guide which is based on uncorroded , uncaked vehicles
3
Obviously you take good care of your 'Horse'

@yanglue611 non commercial diesel engines have joined full auto machineguns as relics. VW ceased USA importation after Diesel gate stunt was exposed. Like Machineguns, that can still be owned, tho limited to pre law production, consumer diesels won't be around in yuge numbers as sales drop and attrition takes it's toll. Fixing lektric vehicles has mo demand and good backup to ICE repairing skill sets.
3
@superchiefusn5601 one thing's fer sur in that both words are used in describing actions found in fluid dynamics............
3
Ya, You can bet few would put that money into a 12 yo vehicle , vs trading for a new[er] one.
3
Ya, why not. Those machines only cost a few quid.
3
Leon: Re don't get any ol oil/refrig on self.... No wonder I feels Sick ?
3
Ah Yes , the Ultimate Teenie Weenie Ego Booster. The 18 wheeler (mini) air horn. Nothing's better for yuge fantasy's , tho have little else.
3
Plus 500gal storage to tide over long blackouts. Lotsa rain h2o storage also a plus.
3
The Variable requires add'l computer control that's not available here ! Hope Ray's billing Cust for all this unnecessary R&D time .
3
Florida rebuilding is kinda neverending, ain't it.
3
No modern jag's worth the actual costs of this fix. Their off showroom devaluation to 10 cents lb salvage makes excellent candidates for recycling into washing machines. As Owner will will discovery shortly as nx critical part of vehicle fails.
3
Best thing bout this old Dogz is Ray fixing it , as he sees fit. Ya, folks , the Lad knows what he's doing. Interweb Mom's concerns aren't needed
3
The lack of competent vehicle techs is Depressing. Likely to continue til compensation trends improve
3
Most Non Speciality Shops ship Euro ecu type probs for Ray's exact stated reason. If and when an Euro w/internal engine mechanical prob shows , cost's to fix it oft exceed vehicle value.
3
@donrosscojoe5014 Obviously not familiar with over the road tractor repair parts, Labor costs today. Ya, they're Bugatti like.
3
Probably not good idea absorbing that stuff thur our skin.
3
Your tool selection for close and distant difficulties is a must in keeping one's sanity in your well documented endeavors. That and how you've learned to manipulate them to your needs is impressive
3
No way I'd agree to tackle this rusty ancient nasty job for less than 10 hrs. Not about to accept minimum wage for high skill level job to fix crusty crud truck.
3
Good that. Many states actually prohibit shop from red taging even if vehicle can't pass safety CK. Notifying State Dot's about all you can do. We had to release stuff with brake fails once bill paid in TX.
3
Most scanners will capture data stream , but only when a tru code is set. They also capture if you push a button. Both functions useless here as prob is mechanical
3
@alexbrown1995 the baby reptiles need cover to survive.
3
Hard to Believe folks risk their lives and limbs , also fellow motorist's over the cost of good tires. Each yr CenTex sees hundreds kilt due to junk tire fails. Trading the cost of tires for that of caskets seems foolishly moronic at best.
3
I think ol Ray already had that deal covered.
3
Ya to that ! $$$5k to $$$10k w/all the worn valvetrain that must also be replaced.
3
Giving the shop away not a great idea for most whom actually earn a living in this field. Many skill sets similar to medicine are required. Yet to see a physician provide gratis service to promote business........
3
Thank You
3
Fixing & recharging 1234YF systems is so expensive, older vehicles with it will be scraped , replaced. It's use is really stupid from a consumer standpoint.
3
@dylanhinkel3548 and well to do folks don't daily drive old luxury stuff
3
@Warren Albee World has been noting decline in Avg IQ for several decades. Current HS curriculum doesn't seem too advanced from 6th grade experience I had in late 50s Montreal. Memory training appears to have become extinct.
3
@thomas7770 Seems replacing it, the drier and all the oil are well advised
3
Your story would make great book/movie. Incredible.
3
Me Too. Way 2 many junk nu pts these daz
3
Sure hope your comment meant as comedy. At least this crew doesn't spend 2hr lunchs @ Armadillo HQ enjoying Happy Smoke as crew I worked with did in the 70s. Not alot got done after those kinda breaks. But was Fun.
3
Rule Of The Day: If the Tires R Bald , Walk Away !
3
This repair expense is where the top two Japan car makes become best bang for buck. This well kept Hyundai engine shouldn't have Any internal failures. At least it hasn't caught fire...... Yet
