I think making any object in an orbit that both tracks the Earth and is closer to the sun would require A LOT more planning, resources, would considerably make the actual mirrors more complex etc. Orbits are faster close to the sun, plus the distance to be travelled would be smaller. Both contribute to the place in orbit not track Earth's placement. The mirrors would literally have to have insane propulsion systems on at all times fighting gravity much stronger than on Earth to keep the actual desired positions.

You could never, ever measure the temperature of a single atom, though. Does that mean our planet isn't increasing its avarage temperature? No.
1
If we can talk about electron bands moving about, which are really just empty spaces ready to be filled, I'm sure it's ok to talk about a cold transfer. =)
1
Savage!! I loved the video but honestly what really got me impressed was that this was the first real attempt at explaining how dark matter might be detectable with our current technology that I've heard of.
1
But if you look at it, does it collapse?
1
"Acording to a Bloomberg article" Excuse me?? And was that peer reviewed?
1
lol nope. areas close to the arctic poles heat up more than near the equator on average.
1
I feel like asking what's the point of the universe is like asking what's the the point of poop.
1
Isn't it a logical fallacy to assume an explanation is more accurate than another just because it requires less parameters?
1
Can't tell if this is an ellaborate joke or not
1
Brasil número 1, porra!!!
1
I hope she doesn't watch that, actually.
1
Sabine, your english has improved considerably recently. Have you been taking classes? It's an absolute joy to hear you talk.
1
Sabine, will you marry me?
1
Why can't we have both?
1
Also, no single human being is purely rational and human beings are terrible at taking long term decisions.
1
OMG I sure didn't see it coming
1
I feel like having electrolytes in my eyes mighy not be a good idea.
1
Maybe we can think of nothingness as what's beyond the boundary of stuff that moves with a velocity equal or smaller than the speed of light.
1
When I saw the length of the video, I thought "OMG, some sort of breakthrough must have happened!!", and it didn't disappoint.

Best science olds ever
1
Perhaps this video gives you the impression that you understand physics, because it's impossible to understand physics without that pesky mathematics.
1
He got that 1920 atom right, alright
1
I tots get Kassandra now
1
It seems like the delay is actually present by design, maybe with a sleep(number_of_seconds) method or something. If that's the case, it should be even more important to add an animation to let users know everything is working as intended.
1
OK, hear me out: what if the Flat Earth Society is just a scam to get fundings for space travel? Its members would be sent to space to see the planet for themselves until the society's purpose was fulfilled and the top tier members all had their trip.
1
@EinsteinsHair Thanks for clarifying, I had misunderstood it.
1
You show'em Sabine
1
Well I think one healthy compromise would be to take Sabine's advice and not take these ideas seriously. They're fun to mess around with, although very limited beyond that, but who knows what you'll stumble upon while you're playing with them? I think there's still value in considering them even if they're ascientific as of right now.
1
If gravity isn't a force, how come physicists have tried to unify the supposed 4 fundamental forces and how come they theorize about a particle that mediates this force?
1
You have so much sass!! I love it
1
How do they know that there isn't a tiny gradient of charge between the two objects and that is what is causing the force? To me that seems more likely.
1
Is it just me or did Sabine made a very sudden and suspicious change of heart towards quantum computing? 👀
1
And the prediction in the end about olympic competitions ceasing to be because of bioengineering... I guess only time will tell
1
It depends if you're looking for acceptance from your peers or making scientific progress. It would also depend on where you live and how likely you are to recieve funding.
1
I was here
1
but where does mined gold come from?
1
Interesting, but not very technical
1
There's a real danger in people who watch this video and think of several peers who this applies to, but never think of themselves.
1
I'd love to know if your opinion changed after reading the paper, just don't shell smash pls
1
OMG this was the first Sabine news episode that I got legit goosebumps!! It's what the Germans would call "not bad"
1
NOOOO, not that guy again!!
1
I love how Sabine is constantly making jojes but says the name Lightning Mc. Clean dead serious.
1
Did you play Beethoven's 3rd symphony's opening when you said brains?
1
Did you just say peanuts??
1
What was it that you ate?
1
Dude it's cool that you made a contribution but it sounds like you were just being exploited.
1
How are we supposed to detect a graviton if we can't even properly measure the mass of the neutrino, which is supposed to interact more with mass??
1
Yeah, today was so boring. Not even any alian news. Oh, wait...
1
I had Covid like symptoms just a month ago. didn't do anything about it besides not coming into contact with other people
