  34. It's good to hear from an actual Russian, but there is not going to be a direct war between the US and Russia. I'm sure you realize that. You also know Ukraine is not currently in NATO, and Ukraine is not trying to invade Russia; so why would Russia and Belarus invade Ukraine and fight in the street and have a bloodbath killing other Slavs? As soon as Ukraine is invaded, you're going to realize pretty quick that there are no US or NATO troops there. This is another stage in the proxy conflict between Washington, DC, and Moscow. Even though they'll never admit it. The US and EU sanctions have damaged the Russian economy, access to loans, and personal wealth of the oligarchs, and this is a game of chess to pressure the White House to (1) relieve economic sanction and economic warfare; (2) rejoin/renegotiate the US-Russia treaty on mid-range missiles in Europe; (3) stop NATO's (and EU) western expansion to Georgia and Ukraine by creating a buffer zone; (4) restore the Ukrainian-based water supply cut off from Crimea after the annexation and continue the status quo in Donbass Russian-speaking Ukraine; and (5) reduce US troops levels and NATO wargames exercises in the Baltic States, Poland, and Black Sea. There won't be a direct conflict because neither side would gain much. The US and EU are in a stronger economic position, and because of the proximity to Russia, the Kremlin is in a stronger military position. The problem is that you're holding a smaller Slavic nation hostage. They never attacked Russia or posed a military threat. They tried to enter into a trade agreement with the EU and began NATO membership process. If Russia doesn't want a US military base that close to the border, there are ways of getting it done without war. They have more influence in Kiev than Washington, DC ever had.
