@Apsoy Pike On first pass, I tend to agree. Thomas Jefferson warned about the dangers of banking institutions being in control of the power to print money. As far as making the banks compete against index fund, I cautiously agree, though I admit that I need to look into your proposal more.

@KingCreeper-1026 Tell that to every candidate who attempted to run against Alexander Lushenko in Belarus. This has zero difference from that.
2
@KingCreeper-1026 A "mile of difference"? You are making a distinction where no difference of substance exists. Even CNN of all places admits that this is purely a political prosecution.
2
@K.emperorx Wow, rather than actually debate the merits, you jump to the Troll accusation. Apparently oyu have never heard of Ray Epps nor the fact that he is the ONLY person to ever be on the FBI most wanted list and not either be killed or captured.
2
And replace it with what? BRICs won't succeed as it does not cover even 1/3 of the economic activity in the world.
2
Thank Obama for that. He got the ball started early in 2007, breaking with tradition.
2
@hallelbimpong1901 Apples to orange false analogy. Now are you going to add something useful to the conversation or are you going to continue to make yourself look foolish? "Better people THINK you a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt," -Samuel Clemens, aka Mark Twain.
2
@Boretheory One could argue that the only reason why the population was even able to get this large is BECAUSE of capitalism. The breaking of the famine-population cycle which plagued humanity for millennia (called Malthusianism) was a direct result of capitalism in the West.
2
@fetB Solar doesn't work when its cloudy out. Yes, hydro-electric dams are great but even the green movement hates them. Nuclear is the only financially viable "green" energy, and that is why France invested so heavily in it when it became available in the 1960s.
2
And that is the point. This is the kind of prosecution you saw under Joe Stalin by the NKVD/KGB.
2
@nmurphy2212 Trump isn't a criminal either. None of the charges are convictions, which means he is innocent until PROVEN guilty. The analogy still stands.
2
Bingo!
2
@glennmandigo6069 Agreed. He is 20-30 points underwater.
2
@jonathanodude6660 Finacial institutions are NOT the lynchpin of an economy, they are often the CAUSE of the collapse. Bad monetary policy which leads to those recession is their fault. Don't save corrupt organizations for their own bad behavior. "And I sincerely believe, with you, that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies; and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity in the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale," -Thomas Jefferson to John Taylor, 1816.
2
No proof of that. The Colorado case is about to be struck down because of that.
2
@larryalvares1369 The US Senate adjudicated on that very charge and acquitted him of it.
2
@tc2334 Dude, from a genetic standpoint, the Hui ARE Hans just like the Hakka are also a subgroup of Han Chinese. The ONLY thing that differentiates them is their religion.
2
@eragonship4929 One which you haven't actually bothered to listen in full context. You only listen to the second long sound bites that the media purposely clipped. Kind of like what they did with the George Zimmerman phone call to the police. Or the video of Nick Sandman and the Covington Catholic kids.
2
You can be cordial to your enemies. It is the boorish who act like children while pretending to have the moral high ground.
2
@wahyuindrasto The problem is, there is no such thing as a limited exchange. One use is answered with an overwhelming retaliatory strike. There is a reason why NATO no longer fields "tactical" nukes. ANY use of nuclear weapons in ANY capacity is considered a strategic escalation and is answered with a strategic level response.
2
On what charge? Most of the cases are imploding under lack of eviddence and prosecutorial misconduct.
2
"because the military spent all this money building up the technology" Wow, complete ignorance. Try actually learning about WHY Hyman G. Rickover rejected Thorium reactors. For one, they use molten sodium/salt, which is an accident waiting to happen. Second, the USS Seawolf (SSN-575) WAS a Thorium reactor, and it NEVER achieved the results claimed by advocates of Thorium reactors.
2
@mustafahassan7781 Funny, because according to the American black community, Biden's administration IS the racist government and Trump is the underdog championing them with criminal reform of the justice system.
2
Indeed. This is a repeat of the 2008 crisis, with the EXACT same players being the major players.
2
It is. The problem is that the Feds are NOT properly enforcing the laws and regulations on the books.
2
Not even close. The US did NOT torture nor exterminate Japanese-Americans. And Chinese-Americans were not treated anywhere near the same as Japanese-Americans were in ww2. And your race baiting about African Americans blatantly ignores data showing otherwise. A better analogy MIGHT be how the Soviets and the Nazis treated the Poles in WW2.
2
@PhoenixBlazer39 No joke. Deaths per kilowatt hour shows that nuclear is the safest while Hydroelectric is actually the worst. That being said, I am not against dams, but if we put as much focus on them as we did nuclear, we wouldn't have repeats of the St. Francis, Vajont, or Banqiao Reservoir Dam failure. And I acknowledge that dams are not viable in flat areas such as the plains of Holland.
2
Keep holding your breath. No, please do so. They have been going after him for 7 years now and failed to get anything to stick.
2
@MrMarinus18 Amtrak is the result of the US nationalizing passenger rail service. That part of rail service never recovered. Venezuela nationalized in the 1970s only to turn around and sell those assets to foreign investors (ie privatization) when they (the government at the time) realized it didn't know what it was doing and was losing money. Hugo Chavez re-nationalized taking the assets back from foreign ownership when he came to power. The wealth you point to is actually from PRIVATE FOREIGN OWNERSHIP. Norway is an aberration, not the norm. No other nation that nationalizes in that manner has succeed.
2
Villains think they are the hero of their own story. What does that say of the people who think they are heroically saving the country from Orange Man?
2
Indeed. Dodd-Frank repealed the Glass-Stegal protections creating the 2008 crisis for which the current one is a repeat.
1
No, they don't. Because they have Trump Derangement Syndrome.
1
@davidty2006 Actually, Minoru Yamasaki, the architect of the original WTC OVER engineered the design. He anticipated them getting hit by a Boeing 707. They were struck by the much larger 757. It was actually the fires that weakened them to the point of collapse.
1
Just like what happened in 2008. And the cycle repeats. Bring back Glass-Stegal to prevent this.
1
@junegameart2866 Yeah, the violence only occurred on ONE side of the building, where ALL of the federal agents provoking the crowd were located. Ray Epps ring a bell?
1
Shale Oil is a bigger threat to them than green energy.
1
And turn Colombia into Venezuela 2.0. Takes a sick mind to think that forcing people to go on the Hugo Chavez weight loss program is a good idea.
1
Keep dreaming. You cannot put a President in with the general population for that very reason. Also, if he dies in custody, you WILL see the right get MORE violent than the left at their worst.
1
@eragonship4929 You are showing your Trump Derangement syndrome for all to see. Trump as a "coastal elite" infuriates his fellow elites. Ask yourself why the power mongers are trying so desperately to destroy him. Ask yourself why you are cheering on the Stalinist actions of the neo-feudal global elites.
1
And they will be a waste of money. if green energy was truly profitable, someone would already be the John D. Rockefeller of green energy. Since there isn't one, that is evidence that the technology is a dead end. Even Warren Buffet has admitted that without government subsidies (ie Corporate Welfare for green energy), he would drop all of the investment in the sector.
1
They exist, but most of China's neighbors don't want them and try to prevent them from fleeing.
1
@rockets4kids Yeah, spare us the "peak oil" hysteria. Advances in technology has made previously unreachable sources of oil viable. Case in point is the Shale Oil deposits thanks to fraking. Incidentally, much of the nuclear fuel in use today by the US was once part of the USSR's nuclear arsenal. Think about that: nuclear bombs used instead to make electricity.
1
@rockets4kids No, it is NOT exactly as predicted, it is anything but. "Exactly as predicted" would have meant that the price of oil would vastly exceed the price of gold for the same mass unit. You are moving the goal posts just like all of the charlatans in the past that predicted societal collapse should peak oil be reached. ALL of those predictions failed to account for technological innovations. it is predicted on the same junk THEORY as Soviet Socialism.
1
@rockets4kids You are still moving the goal posts (logical fallacy). "Using the technology of the time" is tacit admission that the predictions didn't come true because you had to caveat it.
1
@rockets4kids By a strict definition, that MIGHT quality. But good science also takes into consideration other factors and variables, sometimes making estimations. What is leading to a great contempt today is when those "experts" refuse to acknowledge they were wrong. Admitting that they don't know or have a hard answer would maintain trust. And such is the case with your moving of the goal posts. The advocates refuse to admit that their predictions were wrong. Again, you are moving the goalposts.
1
@K.emperorx Because you accused me of being a Russian. It just goes to show you have no interest in facts, only in your tribe winning, facts and reality bedamned. No better than a Jihadi, really.
1
Most expensive? Then why is it so profitable? Green energy has failed to produce a John D. Rockefeller that oil created. Only Coal and nuclear are cheaper sources of energy than oil. And all fossil fuels are more economical than renewables. if the reverse were true, oil would never have come to dominate the market nor remain in that dominate position.
1
@lewisbaitup6352 See, your logic is how you get incompetent leftist leaders like Biden after populists like Trump. And the result is ALWAYS the same: a complete disaster.
1
@lewisbaitup6352 Biden's policies are NOT moderate. he may have been a moderate 30 years ago, but today his policies are neo-Bolshevik. Even James Earl Carter is to the right of Biden.
1
@lewisbaitup6352 "Also idk anything about jimmy carter, all i know is that jim is extremely old. " If you don't bother to understand history of events before you were born, then you have zero reason to even comment. When you speak in total ignorance, you reveal yourself to be a child or a fool. Let the ACTUAL adults discuss while the children like you keep silent in your ignorance. "Better people THINK you a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt," -Mark Twain. "To be ignorant of events that occurred before you were born is to forever remain a child," Marcus Tullius Cicero; Roman lawyer and politician, 45 BC.
