THAT is why they will never tolerate India or even an independent Tibet in the area. A murderer is still going to murder whether it is with a gun or a baseball bat. And I would argue that bludgeoning someone to death or stabbing them over and over is far more brutal than getting shot.

Plano, Texas, the "gun nut capital" of the world with the highest gun ownership has the LOWEST homicide rate in the world. Now contrast that with "gun free-zone" cities like Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, Stockton, Kansas City, St. Louis, Newark, Philadelphia, Memphis, and Atlanta where most of the killings in the US occur. Each of them by themselves would occupy one of the top 10 most deadly if they were their own country. Incidentally, Honduras and Venezuela have the highest per capita murder rates in the world, and BOTH have made gun ownership unlawful. The problem isn't gun ownership. The problem is politicians who take away gun rights.

Straw purchases are already unlawful, which is why most gun sellers will not permit them lest they lose their FFL. Second, it is unlawful to carry a firearm across state lines without an FFL. The problem isn't lax gun laws, it is that those laws are useless and would do nothing to actually prevent violent crimes. Again, you are blatantly ignoring cold hard facts because they run counter to your narrative.
