This is the text of the first amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. I guess I never noticed how it only applies to CONGRESS! The executive branch was, apparently, not expected by the founders to be ABLE to infringe on the rights of the first amendment! Isn't this a big problem? It would seem that the first amendment does NOT restrict the president/executive branch IN ANY WAY!!
