If you can't understand the simple premise that folks should be considered for/by their merit and individual choices rather than their race/gender (or divisive tribal/political/ideological grouping) they had NO choice in then it's really hard to have any real conversation, especially when folks are far too easily-led by the deliberate less-think (and cult) of supposed 'good intentions' and easy manipulation, where simply critical-thinking more is now too hard (and likely now 'mean' for simply containing the word 'critical'). Manipulation sadly rhymes and repeats like history not learnt from.

Lex actually questioning/pushing back with Kanye was one of the better Lex interview in my opinion where we saw more than his considerate (and sometimes wishy washy) side drop off and where Lex was great like you know he would be if not so confusing consideration/politeness with wisdom as a strangely self-identifying introvert!

Fiona being so knowledgeable is great but she's also ideologically inclined/positioned herself as well while trying to understand Putin's psyche more than his reasoning....... so is both the best AND worst person to be discussing this. Wars ultimately happen when ideological thinking on both sides negates all diplomacy and consideration/mutual-respect of each other ......then leading to the sadly inevitable.

Elon should read some more about Taiwan, its history and what the One China Policy (and more importantly) what the One China Principle actually mean and entail (to both sides), especially while one side threatens to invade the other.....even if he does have to be careful about what he says for business reasons (and for his marketshare hopes while compromising his IP).

I really like Lex and his show but I wish he'd push back on more of his guests like he did with Kayne West otherwise his show can unfortunately and easily just feel like a sponsored TED talk (with a spruiker and something to sell) while LEX confuses agreeable-politeness with further-consideration and conversation....it's OK to have your own opinion too Lex (especially a conflicting and potentially contentious one) which often forms the 'back and forth' where real 'further consideration' and conversation actually comes from (rather than the opposite or even worse a circle-jerk!)...... even if perhaps not as umm 'polite' .....as unfortunately defined by new-speak (and the easily-led, upvote-chasing cult) ....where all/any contention is unfortunately now seen as 'mean' (by the far too easily led)..... to unfortunately keep the masses Stepford-wife contented and to manipulatively shut down the idea or motivation to form your own opinions!

Those on the dismissive (or less wanting to be genuinely considerate) side of the ideo-spectrum want to call him a denier to help put him in a box of self-convenience instead of also considering that he's likely (and primarily) talking about the MANIPULATION part of the 'climate change' initiative (and now non-argument).....which is something Peterson DOES have good knowledge on.  I like Lex, he's a genuinely smart and very likeable bloke but he's prone to manipulation too...... by simply and often over-prioritising emotional-optimism/good-intentions (which are VERY open to easy-manipulation) while confusing 'consideration' as wisdom.....but with less criticism (and self-criticism) thinking. .....AND from simply running on the Youtube/Social media initiative which is based around (and designed TO) encourage you to prioritise and find your love (and income) from the approval of others instead.

Lex's polite-consideration priority (and desire for likes/upvotes) can easily be manipulated to unfortunately and ultimately shut critical thinking brains off (just as the 'please like me'/narcissism algorithm intended).

Not a person of religion myself but am an admirer of individual faith simply because it encourages folks to aspire to be more than the machine (or beast!) they are, despite the often-absurd space-fairy stories!....new 'science' thinking can easily feel more apathetically self-justifying/serving and then nihilistic unfortunately (despite science being great for simply and always questioning!) We have a symbol for infinity for a reason when we can easily think ourselves into madness while often missing the simple points straight in front of us!

These Lex podcasts often remind me of TED talks (and snake-oil salesmen) and why I tuned out of those when there is no kick-back....Lex could learn from David Letterman if he genuinely wants to dig deeper beyond his over-prioritised politeness which I think he confuses with wisdom while easily-led towards 'like' chasing conformity (over further considered critical-thinking) via a manipulative 'rewarding 'algorithm.

Life Balance?......My dad was a (well paid) IBM engineer and a high functioning Aspy who we barely ever saw as a family while he Aspy'd away for them (like a good ant) after passing his deliberately targeted umm 'aptitude (pattern recognition) test'.....They sure liked the idea of 'the family' though with their creepy family days and us kids often going in to work over the school breaks with 'learn to code' corporate indoor camps, which I actually enjoyed even if I did think that my dad worked for a cult..... while thankful for my mum filling the more humanist part of the parenting. My dad thankfully got to finally live..... once retiring!

'Likes' aren't just about the mario-cart (or coin) inspired internet ones. They can often (and simply) evolve from the basic internal/human needs and desires that most folks have......and are often more about the simple desire for the (perhaps over-prioritised...or manipulated) approval/acknowledgement of others, where supposed introvertism can be EASILY and psychologically manipulated like many things (focussing on someone's inherent or chosen ideological beliefs is another really easy/effective/proven method) ......and especially so via sketchy/manipulative and 'by design' social-media platforms.....their algorithms (which strangely, but not so strangely, ONLY have 'thumbs up' but no 'thumbs down' responses).... OR via dodgier, more shameless folks than me, whose job and 'expertise' (like mine) IS and HAS always been TO manipulate folks (mine has been a 30+ year running career which has constantly creeped me out, despite appreciating the intuition it has taught me too, where the 'methods' are something to always be wary/skeptical of). Maybe I'm too harsh on Lex but really like him too despite the criticism, I hope he does well AND see big potential for more in him too....but I'm also wary that he's easily manipulated by others and his own personality/nature too, like many well intentioned (and 'smart' more than perhaps 'wise') folks. .....especially nowadays in an era where narcissism (in many outward or subtle ways) is clearly being over-encouraged in order to more easily divert and then manipulate folks (often resulting in 'useful idiots' FOR others unfortunately), then you also have all the encouraged self-righteousness, binary wrong/rights and lack of discussion that you mentioned, which Lex's politeness can also indadvertedly end up over-compensating for/too despite his best intentions while hoping to be a polite-considerate instead (but perhaps a little naive regarding deliberate manipulation) while the TED-talk like salesmen guests grift on his supposed introvert but who could probably do with more pushback despite the algorithm, the creeps and their hopes (and over 'encouragement'). Appreciate your comments and willingness to discuss though JM, I pretty much completely agree with you but also have my skepticism too, especially in our creepy age of manipulation (and apathy), have a good one and cheers from the ether of the internet!

Here's some extra advice (to avoid any disappointment of potentially NOT generating that many end-readers) ....."be aware that other academics are likely to be the ONLY people to ever read your desperate hope for 'approval'-credibility" ......which is obvious when it's very often THE (self important) driving force.....but be sure to use the right font, a thesaurus, the right syntax, footnotes etc too.....and BE sure to also have it bound in leather like a REAL book just to be sure!
