Giving him a reward is completely up to them. That's not how it works. The company takes a gamble, if it fails, they take the hit, if it succeeds, they reap the benefits. If you think its fair for the company to pay extra for success, then you should maintain that logic and agree that its fair for the company to deduct from a salary if something fails. The entire point of a CONTRACT is that you AGREE to work for a certain set amount, regardless of what the company loses or gains.
