All
citizens should be allowed to vote to override and abolish city codes that they deem to be ridicules or predatory

This man could have been an asset for getting rid of the blight in a constructive way, now I doubt he'll ever work with the county.
328
They are only partisan issues if the politicians aren't in on it, getting campaign donations from the companies that benefit benefit from these laws.

I hope that the Federal Officer and Detective got thrown in prison after he was acquitted
90
If no one is being charged with anything and no evidence of a crime being committed is evident then there is no reason to take that money, this is theft plain and simple and everyone knows witness testimony is the most unreliable form of evidence; of course both their stories aren't going to be exactly the same!
90
I hope that after this lawsuit the political officials in charge of this whole mess all get removed from office and barred from government positions
75
We should make a GoFundMe for this guy to make the grandest pigeon coop in the whole town
51
The supreme Court can't overrule the Constitution making exceptions to it. They need to amend the Constitution if they want this Open Fields law to be legal.
38
If I have a court date to pay my parking or speeding ticket then I should have a court date pay my pigeon coop ticket
31
"You have to pay the fines to get the permit to cut your grass to code so that you can stop incurring fines". This is the most extortionate and outrageous thing I've ever heard
29
It's a shame that this channel doesn't have at least a million subscribers
24
"We will have 0 crime; how will we do this? By having 0 population" -The sheriff.
16
@tookitogo then I guess we need to start an awareness campaign
12
I'm on the fence about this. On one hand restricting freedom of speech makes it easier to punish critics, but on the other hand not censoring crazy people who spread lies to the gullible and whip them into violent action also hurts society as a whole; examples being the Christmas 5g tower bombing and the capital assault. if were gonna allow these people a platform to spread their crazy then we need to be more proactive about making sure these people don't do any harm.
10
@dynjarren5454 these codes don't just exist in the cities they existed all towns and villages
7
@benjaminstalcup we did that with Donald Trump's cases against the election and that didn't result in anything, people still rioted and committed domestic terrorism
6
There wouldn't even be a lawsuit if the police officer had just talked to the mother.
6
I'd rather rewrite civil forward to only be allowed if the individuals convicted of a criminal offense and the money is proven to be gained from illegal activity. I don't want this happening to innocent people but I wouldn't mind actual criminals ill gotten gains being used to pay for pothole repairs in my city.
5
Greed and tyranny plain and simple
5
@jstenberg3192 that is not at all what I want and I have no side as an independent, I criticize both parties but the republicans have been particularly violent and personally I think the party has been hijacked as their starting to not resemble the party it used to be.
4
@gaiustacitus4242 then perhaps we should start a public awareness campaign
4
I'm pretty sure the 1st amendment allows people to insult public officials.
3
@josephvanname3377 sadly that will never happen simply because the amount to repay is too large, a similar instance happened in Britain back during the days of the West Indian trading company; they owed an amount so large that to this day they still haven't paid it back. They have some money building up in a bank account so that when it does reach the amount of they'll pay it back but it still has not reached that amount and most people who they owe it to are dead now.
3
I'm surprised and confused that you guys are supporting her lawsuit, these regulations are actually very reasonable and I approve of them; I don't want to play food poisoning roulette with home baked goods because someone didn't clean their kitchen properly. If you want to run a business out of your home you should allow business inspectors in to make sure everything is on the up-and-up, she should actually be grateful that she doesn't have to rent out a spot that could cost her hundreds if not over a thousand a month depending on location.
3
It was 1 man vs several highly armored well equiped well trained police, it's impossible to effectively argue that this was necessary.
2
This cop is a smooth talking theif, Your stereotypical con artist and officers clothing
2
This women should run for mayor and dethrone these tyrants
2
They're not using the criminal justice system to tax people they're using the criminal justice system to extort people
2
Couldn't the cops have just ran her Social Security Number to find out they had the wrong person? I had cops knocking on my back door one night when I was 16, they were looking for a guy that looked exactly like me and I had to call my mom at work to find out where she kept my SSN; once they ran my number through the database they chose not to arrest me.
2
@spacesoup6797 the FBI would notice a trend in people who opposethe city officials dying and launch an investigation
2
you should never be able to take someone's money without charging them with a crime, and if found innocent all money should be returned.
2
@paulcrumley9756 if your found with several bricks of meth there is no court case needed, your guilty as hell
2
Why didn't they put a drain pipe under the highway to let the water flow
2
qualified immunity should be disbanded
2
There's nothing wrong prostitution, all we need to do is set up brothels and have Inspectors go make sure everything's on the up-and-up, There's not really much of anything to save our neighborhoods from in that regard other than STDs and abusive pimps.
2
@jackwyatt1218 that's when you vandalize that clubs property
2
These police should be fired for their behavior. Their the menace to this society.
1
What kind of world do we live in where the supreme Court of the US says it's okay for politicians to forcefully take your land so they can give it to private businesses who likely bribed them.
1
Suspected of a crime or witness to a crime, that's all they need to harass you. This should be illegal.
1
It's called advertisement, doughnut bank has doughnuts on their stores so why can't this man.
1
There is no such law that says you can not vote to oppose an individual on any level of governance.
1
If this sort of behavior from the NYPD continues this would be one of the very very very few cases where I would Advocate killing cops in this case there are nothing more than corrupt thugs ruining people's lives
1
So many times eminent domain is used in a way that hurts people and it doesn't produce anything of value, When it can be used in places like California against against people people who refuse to have apartment complexes and retirement homes Built-in their neighborhood and actually produce a net good. I believe imminent domain can be used in a good way with a revision to the law stating that any business development needs needs prior commitment from an investor And no matter what by the end of is end of eminent domains used the investor must buy the land and use it for what they said they're going to use it for.
1
how do you point to an earlier court case when the law prevents there from ever being an earlier court case, if there isn't one then there will never be one made because the law prevents it.
1
This man needs to run for mayor again and use this in his campaign, if he wins he should fire all the police that harassed him And Try to get the incumbent mayor barred from ever running for mayor again
1
There should be laws stating that if a certain percentage of the population doesn't agree with the code in question then the community can ignore it. I hate when laws that the majority of the community hates get passed.
1
Jason Jackson no communism never works, at most we just need to make sure the wealthy pay their fair share, you can never truly get rid of in equality just minimize the gap; name me 1 country in all of history that a communist economic policy out paced a capitalist one
1
I wish this YouTube channel was more popular
1
If the institute for Justice isn't able to convict this man this will set a precedent that all federal officers are above the law even if they try to commit homicide
