Just like when they accused Poland of trying to invade Ukraine... while they were seizing Ukrainian territory themselves. Everyone is guilty - even if they don't do anything - but Russia, even if their hands are covered in blood. Can they be any more pathetic? I doubt so.

I don't think so. Europe is pretty united on that front. It may be a bit costly, but it is necessary. We can't have an autocracy like Russia destroy a part of our neighborhood.

Easy on the hubris. If Russia was as friendly with its neighbors as it is arrogant, it would be twice as developed by now. Look at how well the Baltic states are doing - and how stagnant Russia has been for years.

Anyone who knows a little bit about economics is aware of the fact that looking at how a currency is traded in international markets is far from enough to determine the performance of a national economy. The ruble has not become the rubble yet because, among others, Russia is running a 15% trade surplus since they have been unable to import many basic goods and components. This has pushed the value of the ruble up. But of course, it will also have very dire consequences for the economy as a whole. In fact, we can expect to see a 7% to 15% contraction in GDP this year. It will be ugly.

@ЮлияШелковникова-м9е It's not trolling. Check ANY relevant indicator - GDP nominal or PPP, HDI, median wealth per capita, anything. Yes, many left the Baltic states, esp. during the early 2000s, but these countries have come a long way. It's not like there are no Russians leaving Russia either - especially educated ones. Life is much better for the average Baltic citizen than it is for the average Russian citizen. And that's largely because they were able to flourish under the umbrella of the EU.

CSTO is a military alliance designed to protect its members. Armenia, as a member which is attacked, asks for help (invoking the equivalent of article 5 in NATO). CSTO turns down Armenia's request for help. Value of being a member of the CSTO for Armenia? Zero.
