"Our army can use whatever weapons in Ukraine to kill both soldiers and civilians as we please, but you can't use large range weapons in your own territory to protect yourselves" - Lavrov the basilisk.
507
Lavrov will prob continue to say, in parseltongue: "we are not hitting civilians/civilian infrastructure"
172
Definitely. The guy is an old wacko undeserving of the philosopher title.
80
We will get through this. There will be hardships and a minor recession, but we will get through this. We will come out stronger and less dependent on Russia. As to Russia, brace yourselves for the third quarter. The reckoning is coming for you as well.
64
What a shame of a country.
40
@wallachusd Shame on you.
34
Russian bots in full force in this one.
34
What Russia is doing in Ukraine is beyond shameful.
30
@TeddyKrimsony Imagine that someone steals your home and still expects you to continue to pay for the water bills.
28
How low can Russia go? Place your bets.
28
@cryptoworld465 We don't have bots paid for by the government in Germany. If you claim we do, please provide a source, I will be waiting patiently.
28
@lexluong8155 25 mins of facts backed by data and all you offer is a temper tantrum lol. If you have any good points to make and can counter his claims, go ahead, otherwise pls don't embarass yourself with sad hot takes like these.
28
@jasonmilton how many times do you need to copy paste the same rubbish lol
24
@lexluong8155 That's a pathetic comeback, don't do this to yourself. Better keep quiet if you have nothing substantial to offer.
23
@george3697 No, they are not. Ukraine is an internationally recognized, sovereign nation. That bull of "we are only one people" it is just yet another poor attempt by imperialist Russia to justify their heinous actions. Interesting also that Russia gets to decide for Ukraine. Maybe we should start deciding for Russia.
22
@psilocybinsoughtme6164 America stands with Russia? Lmao. Cut down on the mushrooms.
21
News agencies are in the business of reporting the news lol. They are not NGOs. I thought this was clear but it does not seem it is.
21
😂 Tell us another joke, please!
20
@D K Well, they joined the EU voluntarily, agreeing to respect basic treaties and regulations - something that they have not been doing for quite a while now. EU members must observe all basic rules, it is that simple - especially when no one forced them to join in the first place.
19
Can't you do better than whataboutism?
17
The rest of the world looks at Russia and feels like puking. Disgraceful what they are doing to Ukraine.
17
Would you like your family to have lived in Bucha at the time? I don't know where the joke is here.
15
@babblo1389 Lame copy pasta, all over the comment section.
15
@crushnevnikita8575 It is proven. We have testimonies. And we have footage, sometimes coming from RT even.
15
🤮
14
Where have you been hiding lol. We have all been talking about it for two decades now. Go and type Guantanano on youtube and you will find tons of clips by the NYT, the Washington Post, France 24, DW, and a long etc. Please don't embarrass yourself this way 🤣
14
He is doing it so that when Ukrainian forces attack these areas, he can declare large scale war against Ukraine and mobilize forces in large numbers. He is supposed to appear on TV tomorrow in the evening.
14
"Rally round the flag" effect - well understood in IR. It shall pass.
14
Wef? Give me a break. Lula is a former labor union leader. He has been fighting for workers' rights for decades. He comes from an unprivileged background. Do your homework ffs.
13
@ИринаЛукьяненко-ь3ъ Leave some kool-aid for the rest of your friends, don't drink it all.
13
@TheDisinformationProjectNz Energy plants, legit military targets? Critical civilian infrastructure? Get a grip.
13
@TeddyKrimsony If you are going to bring up international law here, please point to (a) how Crimea was illegally annexed and to (b) how the European Court of Human Rights (that Russia was a part of until this year) dismissed Russia's request for Ukraine to open the canal (they took the Ukrainians to court over this, the madlads!).
12
@erniebell1858 No shame in being a former comedian. Much better than the war criminal sitting in the Kremlin.
12
One is a war criminal, the other one has attempted something similar to a genocide in Xinjiang. Is that rocking? Lol
12
Everyone tried to talk to Putin so he would not invade. Everyone visited Moscow so he did not invade. We have tried to keep him happy for years. It did not work.
12
@fishlivesmatter Industrial output will hurt, but Europeans will have enough hydrocarbons to keep warm at home. A bit of research goes a long way (:
10
The Russians just attacked Odessa's port lol. "Don't be hysterical, we are not going to invade" - they invade. "Don't lie, we are not targeting civilians or civilian infrastructure" - destruction all over Ukraine. "Don't point the finger at us, we will allow Ukraine to export their own wheat" - they bomb Odessa's port.
10
Largely pro independence. The thing about that referendum is that, because it was unconstitutional, it was mostly pro independence folks the ones who showed up at the voting centers. Polls show that support for independence in Catalonia shifts, but it tends to be about the 50% mark.
10
Congratulations on your day, Ukraine 🇺🇦
10
@ramdev9578 Do yourself the favour of not embarrassing yourself in public.
10
A basic principle of international law is the respect for other countries' sovereignty. Should we try to organize a referendum next month in Chechnya?
9
They signed the Budapest Memorandum though, which means they have a degree of responsibility when it comes to ensuring that Ukraine's territorial integrity is preserved. So yeah, in a way, "it is their job."
9
A terrible military campaign so far, yes, matching Russia's poor economic track record and the pathetic performance of their military. It makes sense.
9
@masakitonguba8919 You clearly have not watched the video. If you think that this is about MCD or HM, you completely missed the point.
9
"Maybe I can allow a couple boats to leave if you lift some sanctions, because, you know, they are not hurting as and won't hurt us."
9
@faraidanha9291 False claim. Check the reports by Amnesty International on the attacks to kindergartens and the ensuing civilian casualties. You can do the same for hospitals. Since you will do the research, feel also free to check out the available estimates for the number of innocent Ukrainian civilians have perished so far. It may shock you. Please also read about the war crimes that have been committed by Russia. So much for de-nazification.
8
@Senninhamcl It's hard to get dictators to step down because they fear ending up like Gaddafi.
8
@cikica07 Yes, Russian troops.
8
You say so as if the Russians had not orchestrated the whole Donbas thing and had not helped to shell the Ukrainian side of the contact line with their own men and weapons (who also downed the Malaysian airlines plane, let's not forget).
8
Catalonian independence leaders did not just promote non violent protests. They actually seceded unilaterally. Quite a different story. In any case, they are free now. They were pardoned. It helps to paint a bit of a broader picture, don't you think?
