It's a war crime to target civilians.

@luckyluke1503 Comment brought to you by the writer of other pearls such as "Russia has already won the war" - Mr. "Lucky Luke." Please send your CV to the Atlantic or Foreign Policy, your insightful analyses would very much be appreciated. Such clarity, damn.

He is also not "going to defend his country."
2
@crushnevnikita8575 Read about Russia's 'filtration camps' on Grid. Plenty of evidence for you to look at. Thats just one bit of the while story, but Russia is violating the Geneva conventions repeatedly. Want more?
2
Countries that neighbor Russia want to join NATO so that what you see above does not happen to them. It is that simple.
2
China is quite happy actually because they will be able to puppetize this weaker Russia much more easily.
2
@ianlouden7939 Special defenestration operation
2
If the goal is to catapult Russia into the 1950s, then I guess you are right? It must be the Soviet nostalgia. Poverty, brain drain, further repression and isolationism don't sound so good to me tbh but I guess to each their own!

Comment brought to you by the same user who advocates that Russia uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine to bring about 'peace.' I will say it with one emoji: 🤡
2
Belligerent? Hello? Who is invading who? I may have missed that episode.
2
@rons5319 How is Ukraine too belligerent?
2
@nataliakudinova2319 I don't think so. They clearly failed to take Kyiv and other major cities such as Kharkiv. More Russian soldiers have died in Ukraine than in the ten year long operation in Afghanistan (15k+ at least). 12 generals have perished so far . A significant percentage of their assets, including the Moskva, have been obliterated. It took them 3 months to take over Mariupol. We have seen terrible fiascos, such as their failed crossing over the Siverskyi Donets river. Logistics that have made the world laugh. Etc. Etc. Etc. We are talking about the feared Russian military, whose budget is 13 times that of Ukraine's. Of course they will make progress. It would be impossible for them not to. They have the budget and a president that does not worry much about dead young Russians, apparently. That does not mean that they are doing well.
2
Objectively speaking, Russia is offering inflation, higher food prices, shortage of grains in certain countries and assistance to rogue actors across the continent.
2
What do you suggest we do here in the EU? Look at how Russia continues to destroy Ukraine and do nothing?
2
@justinekipchirchirkibor1082 And hospitals. And kindergartens. And private homes. And apartment buildings. And civilian men. And civilian women. And children. Etc.
2
Putin said in January/February that the West was paranoid and that Russia was only carrying out exercises.
2
@oldcat1790 Gazprom. The turbine issue cannot be fixed unless they provide the necessary customs forms.
2
@crusadinghours3505 The current infrastructure that they have does not allow Russia to sell gas to other markets in large quantities.
2
Respect to all the Russians who are taking a stand because they are not willing to deal with Putin's bull.
2
@AnalzeThis What did NATO and the US did to Syria?
2
@fagreed3938 Some countries that belong to NATO have donated weapons to Ukraine. That's true. Claiming that "all NATO weapons are in Ukraine" is just ludicrous lol. We have many more toys in our arsenal. Have you seen any new fighter jets in Ukraine, for instance? Me neither.
2
@fagreed3938 So why claim that all NATO weapons are in Ukraine on the first place when it is clearly bull? I don't understand you lol
2
@fagreed3938 Why do you think I am an American? Lol. I am not. In fact, the staunchest opposition against Russia in NATO is to be found among former Warsaw Pact members - we know very well what's like to be abused by the bear. What else can we send? A lot of things. HIMARS, more anti-tank weapons, fighter jets, tanks... You name it, we have it.
2
@fagreed3938 MAD is still a reality. I obviously don't want any of that, but that does not mean that we should just look the other way while Russia continues to unjustifiably pound Ukraine. This is my neighborhood. I care about what's happening. Maybe if you lived next door, you would too.
2
@fagreed3938 You have surely not read any of the reports by the UN or OSCE, which I'd encourage you to.
2
@jeremyramey3221 I was following how Russia cooked up the conflict in the Donbass and how it supplied weapons, men and intel to keep Ukraine weak. Were you keeping an eye on it too?
2
@njugunamaina Now provide an evidence for that, and if true, I will recognize I was wrong.
2
If the Ukrainians demilitarize, the Russians won't stop and continue onto Kharkiv, etc. If you think you can trust their word (ie "we are only conducting exercises"), you are beyond naive.
2
@bbbbbbears6999 That's dumb. Imagine that there's war in your country, that a Russian soldier shoots your mother and kills her while she is cooking and that some enlightened invidual online like yourself says that civilians are fair game. Pathetic beyond belief.
2
@Discoverwithsada So the argument is that women who don't wear hijabs will become prostitutes? Is that it? 😂 So most women in this world who are not hijabis are prostitutes? And also, do you think that there is no prostitution in Iran? Lol
1
@Discoverwithsada "We don't want" - who are you to speak on behalf of Iranian society? This is something that all Iranian women have to decide, and if you are indeed one and Iranian that's cool, that's your opinion, but not everyone else's. Saying there's no prostitution in Iran is ridiculous. Eghtesaad24 estimated recently that there were several million women in the sex trade. There are more than 8,000 'placement centers' in Tehran. Prostitution and hijab wearing are not related.
1
@Discoverwithsada 🤦♂️

One step at a time (:

Stop projecting lol
1
@juyagar6614 I am sure that all the ethnic uyghurs that ended up in re-education camps agree with you, no question.
1
@antonsviridov85 je ne comprend pas
1
@banteluon Russian trolls be blaming Poland for its "alleged thievery plans" while their country massacres Ukraine, kills thousands of people and continues to seize territory which is not theirs. Pathetic.
1
@AugustusOmega Lavrov is a corrupt snake that speaks parsel.
1
@davd1986 If Russia had not meddled IN UKRAINIAN TERRITORY for 8 years straight, we would not have witnessed that protracted conflict. Of course, they blocked any UN negotiated solutions because they were not interested in peace for the Donbas. All they wanted was to use the region as a pawn to keep Ukraine week. Also, keep the insults to yourself.
1
@davd1986 Do you live in a stable that you don't know how to interact like a normal human being with others? Jesus christ.
1
@babblo1389 Now it is the NGOs doing it? Lmao
1
Kick Russia our of the IMF and G20.
1
@lynzhu3343 There is history prior to 1979, y'know? The US initially recognized Taiwan's government as the government of China - it was after 1979 that things changed. And here I was thinking that the Chinese had this 'long view of history.' You should keep reading my previous comment, plenty of stuff for you to engage with.
1
@lynzhu3343 Again, there's history before 1979 even if you don't want to acknowledge it. No mention either to the ambiguity of the US' position. But this is not that significant - what's critical is Taiwan's de facto sovereignty, which you don't want to address.
1
@SundaystrollerA7 No, war crimes. Would you have liked your close relatives to have been in Bucha when the Russians were there? All was staged, so no problem, right?
1
@pietrojenkins6901 LOL at your russophobia card. Get real.
1
I disagree. Shoigu has said that those with relevant combat and service experience will be mobilized - meaning that they can send people who have done their military service.
1
Russia the liberator cares so much about "Russians" that once they lost control of their fellow "brothers" in "Russian" Kherson, they shelled the city left and right and killed civilians by the dozens. Same in Mariupol. Same with the people in the newly seized territories whose first notice was to go fight for Russia. That's Russia the liberator for you.
1
@disanKh "Challenge your autocracy" - lmao. Pls check out what autocrat/autocracy means (ie. for a bit of help, it's someone more or less like Putin).
1
@Hibuy- The USSR of the late 80s, in decline and plagued by scarcity.
