The ICC, just like the UN as a whole, has little power because these institutions can only be as powerful as individual states want them to be - which is close to zero. That's the real reason why they don't have that much clout. But let's be clear; stealing Ukrainian children, among the many other awful things that the Putin regime is responsible for, is very, very serious. I hope that justice is served in the end.

You have commentators on Russia 1 calling Scholz a bast***, claiming that if Germany won't approve of Russia's actions they will force them to approve of them and threatening Europe with using nuclear weapons. It is sad that we have to spend more on defense and that we have to see a more militarized Europe but with a neighbor like this you can't just stand still, watch, and trust that everything will be OK.

But let it be clear that Russia is NOT a trustworthy commercial partner - every nation should be aware that they will cut off supplies to achieve geopolitical gains. You have a Chinese name, I don't know where you are from, but if you are from China, the policymakers in your country are well aware of this and won't make themselves vulnerable in this regard, which is wise of China and was too naive of Europe.

We are all beholding how "well behaved and brave" Russian soldiers are. They loot, steal, rape and commit war crimes. That's the special military operation for you.
