  2. In Australia we call those hot shot runs, in a light vehicle you don't need a logbook and no mandated breaks. I used to run stuff like parts for the airforce from Brisbane to Townsville or things up to the mines in Central Queensland. When you have a big shovel down that's 10 million a day the mine can be losing because of something like a gallon of super specialised oil or a spare part (I have a photo of a 5-foot-high turbocharger on the back of a little Hilux pickup) so they will pay whatever it takes to get stuff there ASAP.

  14. I can't speak for these shows but I can speak about an Aussie company with a reality TV spot and the answer for them is a resounding yes. Then again I know an American company that didn't really pick up that much from a season they did a few years back. I think it is very dependent on your business and remember they get paid pretty damn well if the show is a hit and gets continued past season 1.

  26.  @papalegba6759  Dude what are you smoking? The Countach used the existing V12 that dates back to 1963 and was designed by Giotto Bizzarrini. It was basically the same engine design with 4 valve heads, more capacity and different ancillaries that went thru to the end of the Murcielago. Honda had utterly nothing to do with it and even if they had, "power by Honda" is hardly an insult.

  27. I had a Lada Niva (the 4x4) for years and it was basic yes but indestructible. They were all rewired here in Australia before being sold as the loom had a habit of melting down but that was their only fault really.

  38.  @pedroelbee  Yeah, I can sort of understand the tyres, Pirelli spent a fortune developing a tyre they sell maybe 10 sets of a year but them again it pretty much just F1 research as well. The fact the drive belt set is something like 15k is insane however, a belt is a belt.

  40. 10k on detailing a 500k car isn't an expense, it's an investment. I owned detailing shops for some 20 years so while I'm not as good as some of the people I had working for me I'm a reasonable detailer but Rich, well Rich is just an entirely different level. I will say tho, the lass with the mohawk is going to lose some hair one day while buffing, trust me on this.

  44. Raids are the ultimate motorsport. Maybe not for spectators but for competitors and manufacturers, nothing beats a raid. If a car can survive that, let alone win it is a quality product. If a driver/navigator survives it, he/she is a superman. Motorsport in general builds heroes, raids build Gods.

  48. LOL, 30k worth of fuel is a few hundred miles in a 70 or 80-footer if it's a performance boat. You don't do open ocean passages without a good reserve, anything can happen out there.
