Words I rarely use but, LS swap!

Pikes lost it for me when they tarmacked it. Should have stayed dirt.
1
Speak softly and carry a big stick . . . You would have made a fine patrol officer, sir. You also worked for a department with ethics and morals obviously, Respect.
1
It's a Carry in OZ @danzeppetello2608
1
We don't want "insane" drivers doing Cannonball, period. A flat tyre repair kit? He was planning on driving Cannonball speeds on a plugged tyre? TBH I'd prefer if solo records were not recognised, it will end in tears one day,
1
pointless having a car trailer without one.
1
Not your best decision, no.
1
Been buying some of our Aussie goodness Travis?
1
Hmm, not sure the comments section is going quite the way Rich had hoped . . .

Yuo probably learned it eventually but there's a trick to getting in and out of a Countach. You sit in the seast first, both legs on the ground, you lift them, tap them togerther to knock off any dirt and swing both in together. With pratice it's fluid and easy and as a result of having driven one quite extensivly at one period I still get told I get into a car "like a bloody princess" because I still do it. I'm blessed to have driven some very nice cars but there is something special about the Countach, it still makes small boys and grown men smile like no other.
1
The 308/328 is by far my favourite Ferrari and not just because I owned one for a while. For me, the styling is just perfect and they can be driven a reasonable number of miles without costing you more than a minor fortune. It's just a shame the prices have gone nuts on them.
1
@JohnWiku Not really but the truly eye-watering ones you will never hear of let alone see.
1
Na, I'm 5'10" and I fit just fine. It's close but I don't hit my head by any means.
1
No, a regular person can not because a regular person does not have 200k to spend on a toy.
1
@DontDrinkTheFlavorAid Who told that? It's not correct. I don't know where Americans get their ideas about Australia but a hell of a lot of them are wrong. We don't have the Mondeo BTW, I think we got one model year in the 90s.
1
@ Yeah, that video was bullshit, I'm pissed about that, he knows better.
1
@bwofficial1776 You still have rules, you know that don't you?
1
Pretty sure that's who it is yes mate.
1
Well, accurate. :D
1
@JSchroederee Yes and nop, a lot depends on the personalities of the owners and staff (trust me, that is critical) and the nature of the business along with the willingness of their clients to be a part of the whole shitshow. And trust me, filming for reality TV is a shitshow that has a considerable impact on your day-to-day operations which is something you need to take into account when deciding whether to renew or not.
1
Mine doesn't leak oil (I spent a lot to make that happen) but it certainly leaks water. If it's raining you get wet somewhere.
1
@rydplrs71 heavy D isn't much better sometimes.
1
Not in that family, that was never going to happen.
1
@moonyshine It can still kill you mate, a 9-volt battery can kill you in the right circumstances. Never get blase about electricity.
1
@sirseriously Yeah, kinda obvious now isn't it? No one is that fucking stupid.
1
I owned and operated detailing shops for many years, we did PD for Jaguar, Lamborghini, Porsche and others and my skillset is still not at the level of these guys.
1
@TheTeremaster Oh yes, better to stick to 30 plus years old. The RHD conversion will cost you more than the car and the shipping.
1
LOL, as you saw the Nullabor (which, in bad Greek would mean "no trees") isn't quite the desert. It's a national highway after all so there's fuel and a reasonable road. Trust me the locals don't drive at dusk or dawn either, the carcesses are from trucks. The issue with roos is if you catch one on the hop so to speak and hit him he'll come thu the windscreen and destroy the interior and anyone in it before realising he's dead. A mate of mine bailed out at at least 40 to escape a roo that came thru the screen, car stopped down the road a ways and the inside was just shredded where this poor roo had taken out his impending doom on the fittings. If he hadn't jumped he was far enough out from help he would have bled out, the spur claws on the big males are like 7 inch razor blades.

If you don't understand that suspension suited to radial tyres is different to what works best with cross-plies you have no business to be in the modding/tuning game. Also, if that doesn't do 12s on the quarter (and apparently, it doesn't) you need to take a serious look at your life. Sticker engineering sucks, mate.
1
Anyone who is seriously interested in this car already knows it's up on the block.
1
Pretty sure it's a really bad idea, Tyler can't afford that car, it will break him.
1
How could 331 people thumbs down this story? I had a smile thru the entire thing, thanks for telling it.
1
Nothing cooler than a supercar covered in bugs and stickers showing that it actually gets used as the maker intended. As for Tyler, he's bought a car that will break him financially even simply sitting in the garage and at the same time, sold the nicest car he ever owned. Classic Tyler idiocy.
1
If it's who I think it is the gent is as generous, down to earth and genuine as Jay Leno. Really nice guy but as said above very private.
1
@vladislavfeldman6562 Yup, I'm very aware. As well as owning one I crewed for Sci-Fleet Toyota (Lada dealers) who raced one off-road. The race ones had a few extra Brock touches some of which found their way onto mine.
1
When you think of Ralph you think of three cars, the SSK, the Alfa and the Atlantic, those are the icons but I want the Blower Bentley. Out of the cars you discussed I'm lucky enough to have driven a 959, D Type, F40 but I'd love to take that Bentley for a strap. My worst fear is that when he passes these will end up in museums and never be driven again, the worst fate a car can have.
1
@rick8575 Hasn't everything been wind tunnel tested since about 1980? Yeah I caught that one as well.
1
Oh and all those laughing at the price he paid, never got a US vehicle on the road here have you? Remember we pay 100k for a base 4wd F150 and 75 for a mid spec Camaro.
1
Nice car, hope you get it. What a waste tho, only 19,000 miles in all those years.
1
@CaseyPutsch Na, try a smaller wheel first, then you don't need to make any permanent changes. As for shortening the gear stick, I bet that was done in period reasonably often anyway. Keep the bit you lop off, it can always be TIG welded back on so well that no one would ever know. Lovely car by the way and so well made that your daughter could hand it down to her children. Now, wouldn't that be something?
1
The Giraffe would be proud!
1
Yes but they always work even if never quite right.
1
If he has a spare 1.2 million just lying around.
1
It's just personal taste, I don't like it, you do and most importantly, Ed does. TBH, I'm not a huge fan of the Veyron styling period buy given the price and my income that's hardly an issue.
1
@audihoez628 Google it
1
MX5 without a doubt for all the reasons everyone mentioned and more. I would love a turbo Volvo wagon just because but they are no longer cheap here Down Under and, um, where exactly are these cheap S2000s?
1
"but that may break . . ." 😆
1
@Danieldillon Can't turn away the old skool, that would be wrong. Someone needs to take over an A9X, an SLR or even an XU1 replica and blow some minds.
1
@blaked8438 VR/VS, meah, we need to show them some real Aussie muscle cars.
1
What motor do you guys get? The import ones (they were not sold here either) we get here in Australia have a 2.5lt turbo diesel that's a mighty little engine and dead set reliable. About 100hp IIRC and a crapload of torque.
