  4. It already is playing out, all over the World. Africa, Middle East, Parts of Asia. USA is like France, Sweden, or GB from back then, in that we won't be the main front, but we will be involved, and the stress may lead to that long awaited Civil War.

  13. When I was in High School, I had a crush on Wonder Woman. I liked the strong, yet kind, type of woman. Growing up was realizing that women are not like that at all. Strong Woman, as an analogue for Strong Men, is a myth. Women are strong in different ways. They are woman, and not men. Society has rejected this in favor of a mythical equality. While all should be equal in law, we are not equal in stature, or fate, or destiny.

I've been a missionary, and you find people of all walks of life and situations looking for something to believe in. Whereas I talk to people who went to Europe, and it's a lot more closed off. Americans are believers.

It's the definition of subjective, while science deals with objective reality. Science cannot tell you if it is bad to kill. We have to grapple with morals and subjectivity to do that.

  27. I think the distinction between USA/Canada and LatAm is based more on Religion (Catholicism vs Protestantism), Language (Spanish vs English), and Culture (Anglo vs Latin). It was controversial when JFK became the first Catholic US President.

  29.  @schechter01  Constitutionalism is the best government, with checks and balances. Centralized power is inefficient, and ripe for corruption. Whether that centralized power is One or Many. Government should have as little power as necessary to fulfill its role, and its role should be circumscribed by the constitution.

  31. It also had to do with the paradox that generally, if things are going well, the people in charge don't want things to change. If things change, then those in charge might lose their spot. On the other hand pressures lead to innovation, because we have to. Necessity is the mother of invention. That's why the breakup of the Roman empire, along with the competition that brought about, led to greater progress. You needed every edge to advance, and there was no one to hold you back if you could.

  32. Tech is gonna mitigate the problem. Like really, what's gonna happen? Cities will build inland, maybe some kind of New Orleans/Dutch developments. And in the worst case, cities further inland will grow as a result. Cities in the US rise and fall all the time. That doesn't mean anything over the long run.

  35. Dude, the Constitution IS hanging by a thread. And people who stand up for it are the ones who are going to save it. I think the White Horse Prophecy makes more sense now than it ever did. I don't think Mormons are gonna be the only ones, but if we are true to our faith, we will definitely be standing up for this Country and the Constitution.

  45. I don't think Hollywood is the reason. Hollywood is out of touch. The video talks about how Hispanics intermarry. Also, many Hispanics already consider themselves white. My mom is an illegal immigrant from Central America, my cousins are dark skinned, but I look completely anglo, or jewish as some people have said. Through no action of my own, I would be considered completely white, even though I am 50% central american.

  48.  @DiMacky24  For real, I know that a lot of people were scared that the wave of immigrants were gonna turn the US into Mexico, but the opposite happened. They love this country and the opportunity, and have injected new conservative life that was sorely needed. :D It proves that the US principles and ideals are special, and that people from anywhere can benefit.
