  5. I want to see how the Healthcare systems in other countries cope with the ongoing Refugee crisis. European countries used to be mostly mono-ethnic, with little immigration. So the beneficiaries were mostly those who had paid in their whole lives. Now you have overwhelming immigration, of people who haven't paid into the system their whole lives, and have very different standards of health. The US has always been way more diverse than Europe, so I want to see how the socialized medicine holds up now. America is different than Europe. Also, I would argue that the advent of Medicare is what started the rise of healthcare costs in the US. When you pump money into any system, prices go up (like students loans and tuition, and easy home loans and the housing crisis). If you try to fix prices artificially, all you do is create Black Markets. It's as if Capitalism is reality, and Socialism is fake.

  8.  @ondrejjavurek7748  I also disagree. We can find similar geographical conditions in other countries, and European states cover different and changing geographical situations. People just say that, without explaining how. They just want to believe that it was something outside of anyone's control, nothing special about it. Anyone would have done the same in the same situation. It's basically a refusal to think.

  11. I think Mexico has a good future, but they are in the shadow of the US (which both helps and hinders). I think a superpower needs a sizeable backyard. Mexico can influence the Central America Countries, but that's about it. Brazil has more space to stretch its legs, but it is only untapped potential for now.

  13.  @JaneDoe-dg1gv  There is a old book I heard of called "Garden Cities of Tomorrow", by E. Howard. He wrote that communities should be limited in size, and if there are more people, build another town some distance off. And to combine the town and country, into town-country, having the benefits of town, and the benefits of open country and space. I haven't fully read it, but I am fascinated by the concept. Isaac Arthur, the channel that this one recently did a collab with, has done videos on Arcologies, which I think are really interesting and kinda go with the idea of autonomous factories that allow smaller settlements to be materially viable. I think the potential is there to redefine our reliance on overcrowded cities, which are anti-human in so many ways.

  16. I can't say what Japan will do, but a free Hong Kong, Shanghai, Macau, along with Taiwan, would be good trade partners and allies. And I would guess that the US would take them into its sphere, as a way to control the destiny of future China.

  18. Yeah, I think some Mormons wanted to continue on to California, but we would have just ran into the same thing there. We picked the least desirable place in America, and made it work for us. The Mormon Corridor extends from into Canada to into Mexico. It's concentrated in Idaho, Utah, and Arizona. Mormons settled and colonized this land, including building Las Vegas as he said (though the Mafia was responsible for the Sin City Part). We also sent the "Mormon Battalion" during and after the Mexican America War, which ended up building a fort in San Diego, Los Angeles, and then working in Sutter's Mill when Gold was discovered. They stayed to get some gold, but then headed home to return to their families. I consider the Mormon Battalion almost like Forrest Gump in their proximity to US historical events. :D

  19. For real, when I was in college and exposed to extreme leftist thought, I started getting depressed. I realized that it wasn't healthy and took a step back. The world isn't pure, because humans aren't pure. Extremism doesn't help humanity. Moderation is important.

  20. I think the distinction between USA/Canada and LatAm is based more on Catholicism vs Protestantism, and Anglo vs Latin culture. It was controversial when JFK became the first Catholic US President.

  21. You're right, but it does feel weird for me to distinguish, even though there are very real differences. I do agree that I like people who want to come and be a part, but that also counts if they are allowed to be a part. I think an overlooked aspect of Hispanics is that a lot of them consider themselves white, and some even have green or blue eyes. That's not all of it, but I think the closeness, intermingling culture, and hard work ethic has allowed them to make a place for themselves. I think both right and left took for granted that Hispanics were Democrat property, but people have a mind of their own, and in my Hispanic family, the younger generations are all conservative. I guess once you get past the immigration issue, Hispanics are religious and family oriented, which are conservative values.

  27. That's because the wages are depressed! People want a $15 minimum wage! People aren't willing to WORK for what these jobs are paying! Unemployment doesn't count people who aren't looking for work. Both the left and right understand that Wages have stagnated as productivity and the economy has grown. Why do people complain about not being able to buy a house? Because the wages are suppressed because of immigration and women in the workforce! We just went through COVID, where the government shut down all non-essential work. And people saw that their jobs were not essential, and they didn't have to work. People are at the breaking point, where jobs exist to give us money so we can consume products to enrich corpos. Something new has to happen, and it will come. But wages have been depressed, and it's just now that people are fed up with working for depressed wages. If businesses really need workers, just keep upping the wage until you get the workers. But they can't because the whole economy is based off of depressed wages!

The US State System allows a lot of autonomy to states, and you are better off working for change in your city or state than on the national level. The US is so big and divers that policies that work for one may not work for another. It's like the EU. One policy cannot fit every country in Europe, and when they understand that, they will have better luck.

You can't get away anymore, unless you put away your phone for a while, which we need to do, but also can't really do, because then we're uninformed. I mean, imagine if, in the age of newspapers, you could instantly comment and see others comments on each article. WW3 would have already happened. :D

I'm not really a math or science guy, which is why he never really clicked with me, but that is probably more important to the world.   34. You can't save these days because of inflation. You either spend it, in which case you get the full value of your money. Or you save it, and lose money to inflation. Or you invest, trying to beat inflation, but then you need to make it your full time job to keep up with the market, or pay a financial advisor you trust to keep track for you. We are propagandized to consume, but inflation robs us if we don't. And house prices are kept high through zoning, in order to benefit the haves at the expense of the have nots.

  40. For real. This is the second time he's tried to compare Utah to the Middle East, and I just don't see it. I don't think you can compare New Yorkers, Ohioans, and British and German Immigrants, with Christian Values, to the Arab Muslim Middle East, even if the land is similar (but still very different, with different settlement and technology). We Mormons are weird, but our weirdness is overrated, especially when you don't compare us to the SJWs.

  43. I think the MSM promotes hang ups on Trump that a lot of people just don't care about. The reason he is so popular, among Hispanics and otherwise, is because most of the world is not PC. But the political elite and MSM are PC, and eliminate anyone who wants in and isn't PC enough. Which eliminates candidates that care about and speak to the majority non-PC constituency. I remember when Trump first ran in 2016. He talked about things that the average American cared about, that no other candidate was talking about. Sometimes it feels like Politicians are campaigning to each other, or to the big money donors. Trump talked to the people. Anyone could have done it, but they don't, because they know where their money comes from. The Left are now getting most of the corporate donations, while the Right, started by Trump, are turning to Populism for their base, and it is working. It doesn't help that the left has become complacent about their minority coalition. In the 2016 election, there were leaks from the DNC that spoke poorly of Hispanic voters as a sort of captive voter, ie throw them some bones and they will be loyal voters for generations. But the truth is that people are rational actors, looking at their situations and choosing the choice that looks to give them what they want. Furthermore, many Hispanics consider themselves white. So the anti-white Critical Race Theory that is popping up on the Left would not appeal to them. This channel has talked about it before, but I also think that Hispanics and East Asians are close to being accepted into the White Mainstream. They don't want the crumbs of the Left. They are succeeding in America, and in some cases, even attacked by the left, as seen by prosperous Asians who don't want to play POC games. Why accept victimhood, when they are winning?

Now they are led to and fro, acting out in order to save their souls. And like any movement, it has become co-opted by power seekers and those already in power.

  48. Nice. I think we are entering, or have been in, a migration era within the US, and I believe that God is moving people where they need to go. Or maybe its just economic and social forces. :D Either way, I think the US will go through some changes as a result, and I think rather than the rest of the country becoming like LA, I think the people who move to new places will eventually adapt to a healthier way of living.

  49.  @Annoitedpastorlewiswalkin  The Greeks were the ones who mostly did accept it in the Roman Empire. The Eastern Roman Empire was always mostly Greek. In the New Testament, most of the epistles are to Greek Cities, like Corinth, Ephesus, etc. Early Christianity was influenced by Greek philosophy as a result. So I think the Greeks would still accept it.
