  34. Exactly. I'm a tradie and somewhat enjoy it. I've never been one to sit in front of a computer working all day. And I earn pretty good money in the West ($170k CAD or ~$130k USD last year) but I can't do it remotely and if I moved to SEA and got a job there - first of all I don't know if they even issue visas for that type of work and second I'd be paid in local wages. If I wanted a remote job I'd probably have to go back to school and start a new career all over again from the bottom.

But I'd rather be single and childless than (1) divorced and turned into a slave where I have to pay excessive child support and have no say in how the children are raised or (2) stuck in a dead bedroom marriage where I get no respect but stay because of the threat of divorce and turning into (1). Those are the two most common outcomes of modern marriage lol

  38. I had a friend who got married and had a kid in a rush with some woman he met online because he'd turned 30 and "it was time to do that". I think he was getting pressure from his traditional parents from rural Russia who did the same thing +30 years ago and didn't understand the current year dating landscape in the West is nothing like what they grew up with. Anyways she seemed nice enough before their wedding but shortly after she was nagging him, constantly criticizing, picking arguments and constantly needing to be right and prove him wrong over minor shit... and this was how she was acting in front of me and his other friends I imagine behind closed doors it was even worse lol

  39. Probably in large part because their 304-phase is posted all over the internet. Publicly recorded forever. In previous generations women could hide it more easily or the guy might be more willing to overlook it because "out of sight out of mind"/"the past is the past". But now - the past isn't the past. You can easily access posts, pics, videos from 10 years ago as if they happened yesterday.
