Good job, Jake! Thanks for standing up for Ukraine.

You can find Don Jr. and Eric Trump describing Russian financing of Trump projects. It's no big mystery the Trump organization has depended on Russian largesse.

67 here. Know what you mean.

@JakeBroe The kindness ripples out. Keep going!

I cannot believe the letter I got back from my Congressman Brian Mast. He needs more time to thoughtfully consider aid to Ukraine. Negligence in his use of the years he has had in office.
63
Anybody in Greenland watching Jake? This American wants to start sending you good wishes for your peace and continued autonomy.
58
We didn't help Venezuelans. We saved money on that. Now there are thousands of Venezuelans in the US on Temporary Protected Status. Are we ready for say, 5 million Ukrainians to show up in the US seeking TPS? And then hundreds of thousands more from the Baltics and Moldova? Then millions more from Poland? Think our immigration system is broke now? You are right. Americans are not connecting the dots right in front of them.
44
I have Ukrainian guests. You are correct.
36
We know not all Hungarians vote for him.
35
The US Constitution can be amended by 3/4 of the States. That should be a high enough bar.
29
Yeah. Obviously money, from anywhere, talks to Orban.
27
Yes. Trump might be coming.
26
Hear, hear.
25
Mitt Romney for Speaker of the House.
23
I've had Ukrainian guests in my home since March, and I agree with you about them. I am 65 and they take care of me. Ukraine was the best part of the Soviet Union, and today Ukraine deserves to be its own nation making its own choices.
20
Well done, Jake. Well done, sir.
18
If Russia says Ukraine is responsible, then Russia should not attack any effort by Ukraine to repair the dam. Russian towns get evacuated because the Russian government doesn't want anyone going over to the partisan side. Other reasons include opportunities for looting and then having the area as a depopulated kill zone. Now the Russians "wreck" (Mearsheimer) Russia.
16
That's good creative thinking. NATO establishes air defense buffer zones in Ukraine after Russian drone encroachments. Yeah.
16
Putin's vodka, the ultimate hedge against misfortune.
16
I have friends from Odessa, a beautiful city. My kindest regards and hopes for your safety.
15
Yup. That was big.
14
Hi Denmark! Best wishes from this American.
14
Europe needed to be weaned from its level of dependence on Russian resources. Supplies from other sources are now online. I think they shut down the trolls, too. It's more normal in here.
13
Superb post.
13
Jake, please look into the phenomenon of narcissistic submission. Trump is in this submission to Putin.
12
Makes me wonder if they cannot get parts and/or technical assistance to maintain their systems.
12
Long live Canada!
11
Long live Canada! From this US citizen and veteran.
11
@rond1475 The Ocean concept was first raised by Trump.
11
Electric power generation in Ukraine will have to be more distributed, using 1MW and 2MW diesel powered generators in shipping containers for example. European suppliers and Ukraine have done an admirable job of getting systems repaired.
10
Russia -- best trained and equipped riot police in the world. The key to maintenance of the regime.
10
Wow. Responsible appointments for Secretaries of State and Defense. Ok!
10
It's a perfect time to get the political support from America's small oil producers to get a bill to replenish America's strategic petroleum reserve. This would actually put more down pressure on the Ural price, making it harder for Putin to wage war against Ukraine.
10
Well said.
10
Hello and my best regards to Denmark from this American!
10
Long live Canada! From Florida.

It is not a power specified clearly in the Constitution. It is a power that has been established by House rules which the House can change.

I can imagine there are structural engineering measures that could be employed to have a stray anchor just slide over a cable. I also wonder if hydrophones could detect a lowered anchor moving through the water. I would think it might have a unique signature. Detected in time, a NATO vessel could confront the offending ship. There is also outright escorting vessels over key areas.

The MIC prefers to hold back, respect the process, but the hints might finally have gotten through. I don't envy the guy being between the FSB and Trump and the US MIC. A few MAGA House Republicans are not his main problem.
8
He will come away with a list of his most loyal members of Congress.
8
Right after a big dose of respect from his friend, Vlad.
8
People underestimated Hitler's persuasive power. They underestimate Trump's, too. It's a slight, slippery slope of deceit and fear. But Trump lost in 2020, and he's done nothing to improve his prospects in 2024. He's made them worse. But he and his crowd work very hard to paint themselves as winners and victims at the same time.
8
There is much truth to this. Putin can wait for November and then hang on until inauguration day.
8
Ukraine needs the European "cavalry" to show up. Russia will never be militarily weaker than they are now.
8
Yeah, I think his brain is cracking as he waits for Ukraine to break.
7
Unfortunately for Russians.
7
I have had Ukrainian guests in my home since March. I like them. I am impressed by them.
7
Perhaps we have found a useful task for Littoral Combat Ships -- anchor inspection at underwater cable approaches.
7
The process has been started and that is good. Sweden is excellent at manufacturing and the Gripen is an example of that. Ukraine will have a Russian problem for many years, and within that future the Gripen can be a part of what deters Russia from invading again.
7
Long live Canada from this American!
