It takes 10-13 years to train a doctor - 46 doctors dead - that's a huge dent in their health resources with no prospect of easy replacement..

He looks sad in moments of reflection, as if he's thinking regretfully about the break up and loss of Led Zeppelin, which was his band above all.
314
The countries with crooks in charge will end up with the worst results.

As the interviewer walked through the market he received some fierce looks from the Taliban, probably thinking what they'd like to do to him if their boss wasn't currently on a PR offensive.
164
I don't think quantum mechanics understands me either. Perhaps we're not suited.
162
@tahermahmud3053 But her ability to concentrate without being distracted was good.
115
Honestly I'd rather die than go to a nursing home.
69
@TheWolfsan No one is a subhuman, even those who abuse others in those terms, and refer to themselves with animal names.
43
He looks like he has a good sense of humour. Must be British then.
38
At one time Islam had a lot of scholars who were leading in the fields of astronomy, mathematics and creative arts like architecture and design. Somehow I don't think the Taliban would approve of that sort of thing. Education, except for religious education, is not their thing.
37
But there wasn't much cheering for his self-serving, self-pitying, rambling diatribe. He didn't talk much about what he would do for others if elected. It's amazing that his followers still can't see through him. He suggests all courts and the justice service are biased if they rule against him, when they are just going by the evidence.
35
In the thumbnail how small Zelensky looks next to those American giants. Clearly size isn't everything.
32
Boris must admire the man who is so much like himself. I suppose he might have wished it was him in the cupboard, when he saw the photos.
26
If only our own government abided by the rule of law.
24
Regarding what Sunak said, the Pay Review Bodies are not that independent, as their terms of reference only allow them to recommend pay rises within the budgets already set by the government.
22
He has to come out with that 'nobody's ever done' line. He's always saying he's the best at everything. Who was the guy pushed over and did he survive?
21
Boris can't sack someone who has been doing the same as he himself. He can only admire him.
21
It could be from eating cheap but poor stodgy food. Another thing is that certain medications put weight on people.
17
Fantastic in the traditional sense of not being connected to reality, a fantasist. In what other sense is he 'fantastic' other than at being entertaining. There's no substance to him other than a desire to do what is in the interests of Donald Trump.
15
Paranoia and fear is the American way of life.
15
She 'didn't fit the criteria to stack shelves'? Who on earth are they aiming for, graduates - a PhD in shelf stacking perhaps- a research fellow in shelf stacking perhaps?
15
I think it's because they stuck with their lockdown policy for so long.
13
Keep on voting for crap Tory governments then.
12
Joe was Biden his time.
11
Do Boris Johnson and his government never plan ahead? (Rhetorical question, I know the answer).

@kellysmallman8864 People with symptoms are also tested to distinguish whether it's Covid, flu or a cold or something else (COPD?). The worst of the symptoms may not develop until between 5-14 days and even if it's almost symptomless it may be deadly for others if you pass it on.
10
The poor Chinese guy will probably get sent for 'retraining' with the Uighurs if they do show it.
10
People have said that throughout the ages to every new invention.

@dabblerdeluxe775 Aspirin also thins the blood and prevents strokes. Covid can thicken the blood and cause strokes. He seems to have a very bad diet - junk food. That won't help his immune system.
9
@juliapigworthy Rather a paranoid perspective but it could be a good plot for a science fiction novel.
8
Kyle Robinson Idiots prefer conspiracy theories over science.
8
You are heroes.

@SC-mw2yc If you watch any Robert Plant interviews about that time, he says it was the end of the band as far as he was concerned. He seemed to relent later on and did work again with the band but not permanently. If you read Jimmy Plant's Wikipedia page it's clear he wanted to carry on even as late as 2014 but he didn't believe Plant did. Also even in more recent interviews they both say they could not carry on when Bonham died as they could not replace him and they stopped touring at that time also. Jason did some projects with them but it was never permanent. My view is that though a guitarist's talents don't change with age, Plant later felt he couldn't do the same frontman performances or be the same persona that he was in the 70s version of the band, and he wanted to try different things.

Well he explained the roundness of the Earth as a function of gravity. That's an explanation not a description.
7
He is reflecting the sun
7
I can't remember who said it, but they said the successful politician will be the one best able to fake sincerity. Cameron kept saying "we're in it together" but under his leadership the gap between rich and poor got ever wider.
7
The most important thing is the ability to exist and exist in a planet that can support existence. There are probably too many of us now, if we all aspire to a highly developed standard of living. If we don't reduce carbon emissions climate change will reduce the populations one way or another.
7
I think this was more than lenient on Donald Trump. They didn't report that there wasn't much cheering for his self-serving, self-pitying , rambling diatribe which was very thin on policy.
7
@Paul G I do know the world very well. I'm not a fantasist or easy prey to conspiracy theories like you. There is no benefit from deceiving people over this. Some people don't want to know or can't handle the truth - that's understood.
7
Milo Hartley. You don't have to be "attractive" (in your terms) to be raped. Even old ladies get raped and even men get raped.
7
One section of the poor may blame another but it's the government that has led us into this mess. We are the 5th or 6th richest country in the world.
7
The Fairy Godmother is granting wishes. Whatever you wish for will be delivered without knowledge effort or cost. Simples.
6
@Zoomer_Analysis So is that why they win landslide elections?
6
Only if he wears high heels

The BBC is the medium here. The content belongs to the scientists. If you've given up on science, good luck next time you are ill. (I know someone who looks remarkably like this model, but with shorter hair and white skin).
6
In many countries you only need to say something critical of politicians to land you in prison or to be a member of a family of an opposition politician.
6
It's not a 99% survival rate. You haven't been looking at the stats. You have to be concerned if you are 45 or over or have chronic illnesses or are disabled or have a weak immune system.
6
@jangoslin8258 Yes and Trump certainly has responsibility. He contributed to its massive deficit whereas Biden has reduced it. Trump also ensured more tax leniency for the wealthy. There are at least 30 election promises that Trump broke.
6
m Danish Just innocent fun, you begrudger.

The Tories don't even need to do it in trade talks. They can have a secret deal on the side. They are hardly going to state their aims openly in government records. People don't always understand what privatisation consists of. They assume a wholesale sell off of the NHS. What is happening already is a gradual sell off of health services. 26% of the health budget already goes to private firms. A lot of this is concealed by the fact that the money is first passed through the middlemen of voluntary organisations and local authorities who pass it straight on to private companies. Because the former are involved the government counts it as funding public services. More of this is likely to happen if we hard Brexit and want a deal with the USA. Also US drug firms will want to charge the NHS more for drugs. The document is coded and exploratory. A key thing is it's not putting cards on the table and saying no to more sell off of health services and no to increasing the access of American health companies and drug companies.
