Humour is part of the British character. Someone without a sense of humour would be more easily put down. Humour is often a way of making points more effectively. The British Parliament never engages in physical fights unlike some parliaments in other parts of the world.

FO can mean Foreign Office or F***K Off. FFS she says means fine foreign secretary. It can also mean For F***k's Sake - a term of exasperation

@portman8909 You can eat food high in fat, sugar and calories. without being 'well fed'. Such food is cheap but not nutritious and is likely to increase weight. Lack of exercise is a problem. In the cold people will not exercise as much or if all their energies are focused on their kids and work, whether in the home or the workplace. They may not find time or have been out of the habit for too long.

Whenever Trump was given information, he didn't act on it in a timely manner. This is the pot calling the kettle black.
5
So many poor people is a shame to a country that's not poor.
5
A very poetic description of jetlag.

Really. In that case I would say I don't think Spanish fans realise which way the ESL is going - the end game - which would be to gain a bigger world audience, more money from advertising, sponsorship and gambling interests, and then for owners either to cash in and pull out, or rename it the World Super League, move it to be based in the USA and change the rules (such as removing the offside rule) to make it more 'exciting' for gamblers and fans and allow less skilled players to succeed (so more American players could succeed). It will become a money making circus for the wealthy. When football is just regarded as a 'cash cow' the interests of the sport and the fans get lost. It's not so much a sport but just 'sport entertainment' if no team can be relegated (success guaranteed).

Doors are magical really. They are portals that take you from one reality to another. Ever gone from one room to another and had to go back again to the first room to remember something you'd forgotten? The power of doors.
5
@philcav9891 What an inhumane response.
5
I suppose when things are going downhill they compare themselves to better times, not to the poorest in the world. The poorest in the world generally live in poor countries but the UK is not a poor country.

In the book 'Diary of a Nobody', there are characters called Cummings and Gowing and the main character makes a joke that Gowing's always coming and Cummings is always going. Strange co-incidence. P.S. I forgot to mention another co-incidence - the main character's wife is called Carrie. Cummings and Gowings are meant to be his friends but you get the impression that they sometimes irritate him.
5
They eat small stuff like Krill. They don't have the teeth for eating meat.
5
@joyeboda2588 The guy is blind, stupid or wilfully ignorant. He's representing and protecting appalling practices.
5
He can't even see that he's part of the problem.
5
It was Cameron who went.
4
He was good for the rich people he represented and good at pretending to represent the rest. His background was in public relations before he entered politics - and it shows.
4
@amazinggracemessenger3435 Yours is the false news. I only had to read the first section to see that. I have asthma and wearing a mask does not 'cut off my oxygen'. You sound hysterical like you have been visiting too many conspiracy sites.
4
A candidate for the most ignorant comment perhaps. She did back Boris until he lied to her about the protocol. I've no sympathy for either though. She blackmailed the May government for £1bn.
4
Yes, viruses will control us if we let them. Fortunately we have vaccines now.
4
@vadimgolub8605 I don't know. Maybe he's afraid of Putin or just doesn't want to admit that his actions opened the way for the likes of Putin. He may be concerned about his legacy and how he will be seen in history.
4
Connor Cook How so? The numbers of excess deaths are also checked, which shows that it's likely the number of Coronavirus deaths are actually underreported as not everyone who was sick and died was tested for Coronavirus to begin with, but only if they made it to hospital. Care home deaths from the virus were not counted until recently.
4
@mohammadadnan9685 Being murdered by criminals or being murdered by a murderous regime like the Taliban. What's the difference?
4
@Truth seeker. They do sometimes change shifts and have time off . They can't work 24 hours a day every day.
4
The Tories talk as if your interests and their interests are the same, but they are talking from the perspective of the interests of the very wealthy, who benefit from deregulation and downward pressure on workers' pay and terms and conditions. Going forward there will be more deregulation including of the banks.
4
brumsgrub. This is why we're in the mess we're in, because most voters are mindless and some only think with their dicks.
4
Overuse of steroids in India and high levels of diabetes are now blamed for the black fungus infections. They seem to mostly affect those who are given steroid treatment for Covid and who also have diabetes. (High use of steroids can also give people diabetes who didn't have it before) This sounds like it would be a better alternative treatment, but it's probably going to be a long time before such treatments are available in all countries.
4
The vaccine 100% avoids hospitalisations though so it will save lives.
4
It reminds me of the main character in 'Diary of a Nobody' whose name is Charles Pooter, but poot is also slang for fart so maybe there's a link with Mr Trump.
4
@KaranThakur927 Indeed.
4
@mrmagoo756 Tell that to the victims. (Should've gone to specsavers?)
4
Oh yeah. Vote for Tories who'll let you starve, then blame the BBC for collecting its licence money. The 'defunding' campaign is an attempt to censor the BBC and stop anyone who is reporting the consequences of government policies.
4
Andrew C The Tory government set up PHE as part of the NHS re-organisation in The Health and Social Care Act 2012, and it was warned at the time that the new body would not be able to cope with something like a pandemic, but as usual it didn't listen. The government decided to outsource most testing to Serco, rather than fund extra NHS capacity, and Serco subcontracted it to 29 other companies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3llpX9DVuDM&t=19s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_SvrGwQdqg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brXZU4iKhfg&t=5s

Jon Coxon Eh? He has accepted the vote and says he is not intending to take us back into the EU.
4
There never was going to be a deal that pleased everyone. The EU would not allow it. It was always going to be a compromise. It's either compromise or no deal. That's the only choice we'll ever get.
4
When I was 14, me and my friends could all afford to buy tickets and go and see matches. I even went to see a lot of away matches. Ticket prices are unaffordable for most ordinary people now, or they can't afford to bring their families along to see matches.
4
Only in the USA is going for a walk seen as weird.
4
@theintrepiddroner6152 Also Russia coming up fast.
4
You may like that kind of treatment. I would not want to be in such a hospital. If I was very ill, I'd want the care and comfort of other human beings.
4
Does it matter? He can explain the Universe.
3
spiro. Did you not read the comments? I'm not going to repeat myself.
3
According to the newspapers, Tories would be voted in again if an election was held now, even though they are making a hash of Brexit. Some people are stuck in Groundhog Day.
3
He's a bit shy it seems, and that can make someone look a bit untrustworthy but he's actually a very genuine guy.
3
He's not speaking the truth. Syria did gas its own opposition rebels.
3
China regards democracy as a crime. That tells you everything about China.
3
@jimmypa100 I understand you have to believe it's lies because you are fearful, but the number of excess deaths this year demonstrates it's not lies.
3
Jon Cocks That's because there is a delay in effect. People infected before the lockdown may not show symptoms for 5 days and in that time they can infect a lot of other people. There may also be people who have such mild symptoms that they are not aware they have the virus and infect a lot of other people. If each person infects 2.5 other people as in virus spread modelling, a huge number of people can be infected before lockdown and the cases will continue to rise for a while after lockdown.
3
@vadimgolub8605 He knows he can't really speak freely, but he is also proud of his country and doesn't like to criticise it.
3
Hardly if it gets society and the economy open and moving again.
3
You're not supposed to vote the tyrants in in the first place.
