  5.    He's the biggest charlatan. He cares only about his own career. You do know don't you that the day after the Brexit referendum vote he was queueing up for a German passport and that he was trying to arrange a career in the USA?

  6.  suburben yobbo  I believe he was turned down for the passport because he didn't meet the criteria ( the requirement to have lived in Germany for a certain length of time) and he gave false details on his application in response to that question (A German address). There was a German police case on it. Anyway it's hypocritical because Brexit will mean Brits in general will find it harder to travel to EU countries (more bureaucracy, more cost, longer airport queues) but if he got a German passport he would escape all of this. I suggest Brexit was what prompted his application for it, as he applied the day after the Referendum result. Other hypocritical wealthy Brexiteers can escape some of the the consequences of Brexit, having their cake and eat it, by buying citizenship of Malta, and some are doing so.

  7.  suburben yobbo  My point was that it will still benefit the wealthy after Brexit, only the rest of the population including the working class will lose out. I think it's hypocritical when the wealthy Brexiteers or those with dual passports don't come clean on that. Farage was applying for a passport for himself by the way. His kids may have them already as they have a German mother.

He was keen for a no deal Brexit which would see British people suffering the downside of that while at the same time thinking he would not have to suffer the downside, and not being open about that with Brexiteers. In the end I don't think he got his German passport. I'm not sure because he refuses to give a straight answer to the question. However if you are happy with him, good for you.

  14.  @MaelstromTranquil  As a democratic representative he should accept answering questions as a normal part of being accountable, and if he can't cope with that without a hostile reaction, it suggests he's not a good representative or he's got something to hide. You shouldn't have people swearing at you on a daily basis, but thankfully they are not swearing at you as someone in an official position. If a doctor or a police officer started swearing about you just because you were asking some questions, and suggesting that something was 'wrong with you' for doing that, maybe you'd feel differently. Would you get away with swearing back at the customers?

  17. Can you believe a liar who says he's no liar? If he told the government he had enough PPE at the time when all the newspapers were reporting that care homes didn't have it, that's a lie, and if he told the government that all elderly patients would be tested for Covid before being discharged to care homes, that's not what the guidance on the government website said, so that's a lie. The guidance warned that patients discharged from hospital may have Covid but that care homes were equipped to deal with it (at a time when they were not) I also experienced it in my family. My brother in law had Covid and the hospital wanted to discharge him even though he'd not been tested to check he was clear. They told my sister 'the government has told us to free up beds'. That ties in with what Cummings said hospitals were told.

  28.  @scottm5425  I thought Scotland was on top of Covid now and had plans for getting back to normal. Maybe too slow for your liking. Check what Stugeon is saying. we don't get much Scottish news down here but I know she was talking about it recently.

  29. @Phoenix People don't understand that the reason hospitals weren't packed is because normal work was largely suspended so that hospitals could deal with covid and covid patients were kept in particular areas to avoid contaminating whole hospitals. Staff had to be diverted to treat Covid patients either at their own hospitals or other designated ones. A&E visits were also down by as much as 40% as people either didn't really need to go there or were afraid of catching covid. Then there's the fact that with people at home and pubs closed, work and alcohol fuelled accidents would be down, also street crime like stabbings.

  30.  @krielle3877  Some of these will end up in A&E but some will be dealt with by social care. A lot of people may be drinking while watching tv, and that's a safer place to be drunk. There may be a lot of people suffering abuse who aren't known about at this time and don't appear in hospital. Housework has always been done. It shouldn't result in more accidents. Suicides won't be going to hospital though some attempted suicides might. I'm sure some stats will be issued eventually that will show what's been happening.

  31.  @krielle3877  The government may distort statistics or present them in self serving ways but the people who produce statistics such as the ONS are professional and don't allow political tampering with the source statistics. It's always possible to go to the source. If you have faith in nothing then there is no truth, or if there is you won't find it or will never be sure you've found it. Science is validated through the fact that experiments and results of research are independently verifiable and repeatable.

  35.  @carveh13  Hmm! I'm trying to think. I work on the basis that things will usually get worse and plan for that. I've not been wrong on that score. When someone points me to genuine facts that show I'm wrong about something, I apologise but it doesn't happen often because I like to keep up with events. Also I usually look up facts myself before I comment or I know them from looking things up previously or because I've worked in close connection with the NHS. It's easy to find reputable sources of information if you have the desire to look for them. I'm also a NHS patient at the moment.

  42.  @stevepal8432  O.K I don't know so much about Prince Charles or how long he had it for. The Royals keep their affairs more private, but from what I heard it doesn't sound as though he got it as badly as Bojo. I can't believe he'd just make that up. He was around and about a lot beforehand, meeting and greeting, and images show he kept sticking his hand out to shake hands and then remembering not to at the last second, but who knows whether he shook any or not. It's interesting that Camilla didn't get it. Perhaps they are not as close a couple as people might think.

The Tories have always protected and invested in motorists when other greener interests have not been protected, bus routes, train fares, lack of incentives to use these etc. Motorists have been largely sheltered from the effects of needing to cut carbon emissions. It's unrealistic in the longer run.
