Some celebrities think if they can use their fame and influence for good, that's no bad thing. I think 'me me me' is the least of the issues to be bothered about at this time.

@elrjames7799 If refugees/asylum seekers make it to this shore they have legal rights under various international agreements. Their method of entry then becomes irrelevant in legal terms. Only those entering illegally who are not refugees/asylum seekers, can be deported but the government has to have done the work to distinguish who is who. otherwise courts can stop deportations.
1
@elrjames7799 Well I guess that's what Priti Patel is planning to do but we are currently going through the Brexit withdrawal period so we are still keeping to those agreements until January 2021 at least. However changing that will mean we will turn everyone away that enters illegally including genuine refugees/asylum seekers.
1
@elrjames7799 I think she's got something in mind but probably can't do it until the Brexit withdrawal transition period ends.
1
@uniquevideosUk No. I read it. Do you read?
1
@spinofthewheel5345 Or perhaps never got involved with her horrible husband.
1
@mickbmx Give it a rest.
1
@mickbmx Now you are being silly.
1
*Nazi. For the sake of community and world health, yes. or does selfishness trump everything else now?
1
@michaelcaine2405 I've done loads and loads of research. Have you, or are you just listening to your preferred conspiracy theories?
1
@Julia56401 Do I have to explain further for the 'hard of understanding'?
1
@Julia56401 I'm not in a little world. It's you that is - stuck in front of your computer swallowing silly conspiracy theories.
1
@Julia56401 I take my information from multiple sources that take it from the science and the experience of medics in the front line, not from fantasy sites. Feel pity and laugh all you like. It's good for your health, unlike conspiracy theories which are very very bad for your health.
1
@Julia56401 Do you take your standard of honesty from Donald Trump? We can't be reading the same material, or you are being very selective in what you look at.
1
@svetlanaprice5896 😆 😂😁
1
@svetlanaprice5896 It's not over yet. If you want to risk your health, go ahead. Why not test your approach by volunteering in a care home or a hospital? 🤞 Whatever you say to me won't change the science.
1
@svetlanaprice5896 You're bonkers. The pandemic came from contact with wild animals in China, prepared for the eat market in Wuhan. The scientists have looked at it and agree that it's not man made. If it's planned depopulation it's not very effective, it's much more effective at hitting the economies which is hurting every country that has it and people at all levels in those countries. If you wanted to depopulate there are far more efficient ways of doing it. I really can't be doing with people who are paranoid enough to believe every crackpot theory. I'm not going to exchange comments with you any more as you are not rational and you have no evidence to back these theories.

Because Covid can attack organs including the heart.
1
@johnfletcher1611 I don't normally shout out abuse. I just made an exception here because I'm getting fed up with people's lazy ignorance. I will remove 'you plonker' from my previous post'. Science is not a left/right issue. It's about verifiable facts.

Talking fish?
1
How do you know? Would you vote for someone who just says they'll make things better? No lessons learned then.
1
There have been lots of cases in Thailand. I think they have it under control now but you might not be able to get flights and even if you do the flight might be the biggest risk factor for catching the virus. If you need to return to the UK during the outbreak, you might not be able to either.
1
You mean white? Khan is English as he was born here. She is a Trump supporter.
1
@jackflash743 * There are (English please).
1
joe loney The Indian variant which is in their area now, has been killing younger people in India.
1
@Nelson_Churchill Leave the playground now and find your Mummy.

No but the average temperature across the world across all seasons has been rising and continues to rise. A seemingly small rise in the average, even just 1 degree can cause severe weather problems such as melting ice caps, sea levels rising, forest fires, more hurricanes, drought and starvation in some parts of the world.
1
They are doing their best not to put lives at risk but they know lives are at risk anyway as the Tory government lets the NHS collapse. So how do they get a pay rise and address these problems when the government just ignores their plight?
1
@celticcc3658 You've completely misinterpreted what I'm on about. It's not the swearing as such, though being so disrespectful to his colleague and suggesting there's something wrong with her for asking questions is not good. It's the fact that he doesn't seem to think it's right for him to be questioned in this way, but it's part of the job for him to be accountable as a public representative who is taking taxpayers money. People have a right to ask him questions and if he can't handle it he's either in the wrong job or got something to hide.

On what evidence?
1
@immyu6566 I'm not going to check out loony conspiracy theories. Those are for people that fear and have lost their sense of perspective.
1
@immyu6566 So according to you, what accounts for all the excess deaths during the Covid period? Every death is registered (I don't just mean Covid deaths) and from the death register can be seen the number of deaths happening currently and these can be compared to the average number of deaths that occurred in the same periods in previous years. That shows the current 'excess deaths' figure. The Excess deaths figure was approx 60,000 when the deaths attributed to Covid on death certificates was approx 40,000, which sounds like Covid deaths are more likely to have been undercounted as a lot of people died without being tested.

I have an idea for a comedy sketch based on photoshopping. If anyone has seen the scene in 'Marathon Man' where Laurence Olivier is drilling into Dustin Hoffman's teeth without anaesthetic while constantly asking him 'Is it safe', just substitute a refugee for Lawrence Olivier and a Home Office Minister (or maybe Rishi Sunak) for Dustin Hoffman.
1
@0saintclark0 Indeed unless it's even unsafe for its own citizens.

@stevenmacdonald9619 Agreements to end wars often require compromises.
1
@TruthHurts-s7g There are only two options on fitting NI into Brexit. 1) Break the Good Friday Agreement by having a trade border in the Island of Ireland. 2) A trade border in the Irish sea. Boris Johnson signed up to the latter, supported by the DUP. The trade advantage is for NI as they can receive and trade goods with the EU without barriers. The disadvantage is with the UK as there is a trade barrier between NI and Great Britain. However Great Britain is not imposing any border controls as yet on goods coming into GB from NI or from Continental Europe. The only country suffering from it is Great Britain (exporters) but having more border controls and bureaucracy was voted for by the UK as a whole (though not Scotland or NI individually) since it was an inevitable consequence of Brexit.

Scotland and Wales may just not be at the top of the 'most cases' list.
1
@slackdee That's not true. For a number of reasons 1) Doctors are professionals and do not write false causes on certificates 2) The excess deaths figures which are calculated from the figures for all deaths, from whatever reason, from the death registers, compared to the average figures from the same sources for previous years, reveal an excess death figure that indicates that Covid deaths are understated rather than overstated. In the UK that ties in with the fact that elderly hospital patients who were untested for Covid were sent out to care homes and spread Covid there causing many deaths, but the people they infected in care homes were also untested for Covid because in the first few months of the pandemic only hospital patients were tested. People dying at home, if their GPs could not, or did not, get them into hospital were also untested for Covid when they died.

@UfcClippaz *breathe

So now Jair Bolsonaro has it. He who thought it was all a fuss over nothing and did nothing to protect the health of his citizens. Karma, that.
1
@mikeparker9794 Wilfred is not the Doctor's name. It's the name of Boris's grandfather. Boris had 2 Doctors both called Nick (Nicholas).
1
*given. That's not going to happen though.

@rolandrimann8788 Glad you don't live in London too. TfL has debt which does not make it a cash cow. This was from a news article in 2019. 'Efforts to reduce the level of dust include new signalling on the Northern and Jubilee lines, which reduce the need to break defensively. TfL has also introduced new techniques to replace tracks, swapping jackhammers for “concrete breaking” that creates less dust. The inquiry will look into whether increased tunnel ventilation using fans could reduce airborne particulates, and whether barrier doors could could lower the level of pollutants, as was shown in two studies on the Barcelona metro. An electrostatic precipitator could also be deployed, using electrical forces to collect particles.
1
@rolandrimann8788 I don't know. I'm not the scientific expert am I? Don't shoot the messenger.
1
What's your beef? No relation to Edwina Currie are you?
1
@jcw9539 Something to bear in mind before voting foolishly.
1
membershipofbus Indeed she can, but who she likes tells us something about her true beliefs.
1
membershipofbus I don't hate her but having criticised me for doing so, you then tell me you hate me for liking Sadiq Khan. Where is your sense of logic?
1
membershipofbus I travelled on those Routemasters. They were a vanity project of Johnson costing over a £1m for each bus and they were poorly designed and poor value for money. The windows didn't open and in the Summer people would roast. His shortening of bus routes was designed to reduce congestion in the centre of London although I wish he hadn't done it to the 4 or the 134. I'm glad there are 20mph speed limits. I used to worry about my child crossing a busy road when the cars were racing along, and the air has cleaned up since his clean air policies were introduced and my asthma has improved as a result. I like the fact that he provided free school meals for all primary school children and that he froze many transport fares and allowed 2 bus journeys for the price of one if they are both taken within an hour.

@Kaizan27 In hers more than mine. He's still around to potentially cause havoc if he gets elected again though.
